I went to try this restaurant and in less than 20 min I was already out… What a disappointment. The restaurant was empty(really no customers except me +1) and still I had to wait to be attended. The funny thing is that I counted 4 workers there… and yet I had to wait. We ordered a chicken«paella» and what came out was something«similar»…but with maduros and celery? Definitely not paella. The food is poor, I returned everything I ordered and nobody came to apologize, I just got the check. WARNING: it is not really Spanish food, it is a cuban fusion, which it would have been nice to know before to get in…

This is my first time to this place immediately felt uncomfortable. I am Afro-Hispanic and as soon as I walked in there was snickering for a group of white Hispanics. Then moments later some miserable sever chick say a slick comment about my dress attires which Nike neon green hi-top, straight legs jogging pants, neon green beach Tank. Please note I arrived at 3:30 in south Florida. Minutes later the waiter walks up to the other members dining with me and said«can he go put on a shirt. The little group snickered again. I simply replied sorry I don’t have. There went the mood for a good late lunch. Oh, and then there was the lunch. There’s nothing more horrible than flavorless cold skirt steak, well-done when ordered medium. The Blandness of the food took me to Picadilles or some other establishment which serves dietary sensitive meals.

The service at this establishment is below average. Even when properly staffed, you have to hound someone down to get anything you want. They take your drink order, bring it to you, take your food order and disappear towards the bar where most if not all of the staff is standing and conversing. That being said, the food is phenomenal. It’s home cooked quality. Truly outstanding. It’s a shame that their service is not better because they would have otherwise gotten a 5 star review.

Amazing place. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is absolutely delicious, big portions, and low prices. The service was also great, especially Mr. Orlando Baluja who is a total sweetheart.

Dinner with friends tonight. Music volume was so loud, we had to nearly scream to hear each other. Overall mediocre food over-priced, plenty of drunks to keep you company.

What a pleasant surprise we were looking for a place to enjoy some tapas. Found El Gallego on Unilocal we’ve driven by this place a hundred times and it was like walking into a restaurant in Spain. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we quickly got into the tapas. Everything was delicious we will definitely come back again.

I broke my rule again. «Never to eat at a place that when you walk in, Its just you and the waiters». Well we walked into a nice looking restaurant that smelled weird like mistolin or pirey. It brought me flashbacks of my grandmothers efficiency in hialeah. I bet the back door area of the kitchen smells like Creolina. We ordered the wine and Sangria. My wine was ok and the glass they brought the sangria in smelled of dirty old grease rag. We had to return it. Way later they brought back a new glass which was ok. Sangria was weak. We ordered the caldo gallego which was tasteless. We also had a tapa of chorizo in wine which was just there. The service was awkwardly slow for it just being so little patrons inside the place. The few people that came in the staff knew by first name. Overall I would not go back to this place, EVER! i do have to say the water was good so if you’re in the mood for good 8 st water, this is the place. If I ever visit Spain i hope the food and service isn’t like this.

So you walk in and are definitely transported directly to typical robust restaurant in Spain. You will see aged hams strung by the bar, as well as many decorative and authentic Spanish tiles, and other cultural articles. So as I’ve been coming here since before I could speak I can recommend many things. Tapas: 1. patatas bravas, fried thick cut potatoes in a mild hot sauce and mustard! Delicious! 2. Entremes, a spread of cold cuts, Spanish cured ham and cheese! A decimate classic and staple! A side of crusty bread and a glass of tinto and it’s all I need 3. Garbanzos Fritos, fried and smashed chic peas ! Main dishes : 1. Lacon asado, a delicious slow cooked ham(bring your appetite for this one!) 2. Gambas al ajillo, shrimp in garlic butter 3. Entrecot, slab of beef, nuff said! Dessert: Crema catalana is the only way to go! I loose custard with caramel sauce, very very good. For coffee, go to la caretta or Latin café if Cuban. spaniards aren’t known for great coffee. The Italians mastered that one! Bön appetite!

Just when you got inn, you my find a disgusting smell as a old car freshener or whatever they use for mop the floor. «FOO». Service very slow, only 3 tables for lunch and took 20 min, for appetaizer, ordered the«callos» and they where smelly and rotten. Then my main course was the gallego cod. It was very undercook and no flavor. I am from Spain and belive me this food it is not nearby the worst food in Spain.

Affordable and yummy with an adorable décor that feels really authentic and welcoming. Sangria could be a bit stronger(it is veeeeeery sweet) but other than that, no complaints here!

Had some tapas there several times. We loved the ceviche and most of their menu. their wine was okay and the music is sometimes a little bit louder than it should, especially for what it was. I’ll go back for the food!

This is a tapas restaurant, not a tapas bar. What’s the difference? A tapas bar has a thousand little plates that you can nosh on. You can get a glass of wine and sample all the little things that are constantly coming out of the kitchen. A tapas restaurant is a restaurant that happens to have tapas and wine. This place has great service, the staff is very attentive. The tapas on the cold and hot appetizer menus are good, but not varied enough. We had: * A cold seafood ceviche salad with onion, shrimp, crab, and octopus. This was excellent. We loved it. * Mushrooms in wine. Excellent. The sauce was amazingly good with the hot bread they put on the table. *Octopus a la feria. Ugh. Didn’t care for this. The octopus was very tender but only seasoned with paprika. It needed flavor. * Chorizo in wine sauce. very good. Excellent with the bread. * A cold mixed appetizer platter with chorizo, ham, cheese, olives, and a harder black chorizo. This wasn’t that good. The olives were very plain, pit in. I love olives but it would have been nicer if they’d been marinated. Also the meats tasted too dry and salty for my taste. * Mussels in spicy sauce. Excellent. The tomato sauce was simple, spicy and fabulous with the bread. For dessert we had their crème brule type custard. I don’t like overly sweet desserts, so I was cautiously optimistic. It was good on sweetness, but it needed more texture. The custard was topped with a simple caramel which was nice. This place in total impressed me in that everything is house made. There is not store bought stuff brought to you. I appreciated this a great deal. I would return for a meal, but not for tapas.

I love finding places like this. Due to time constraints, we were not able to sit and eat, but put an order to go. We were treated very nicely while we waited. I enjoyed everything we ordered, but will write a longer review when I can sit down and sample the menu.

When you first walk into this fantastic little place you’re not exactly expecting being transported into a hidden corner of spain. The tavern has a classic look with picnic-like red and white tablecloths. Serrano ham and salami hang from the bar giving every customer millions of ideas when paired with the wine behind it. The caserola de mariscos and bandeja paisa are the two dishes we usually order. Fantastic flavors, fresh seafood. This little gem also has tapas ranging from Camarones al Ajillo to plantains. The staff is always friendly and the management is always grateful to have you as a customer. They even gave us a few free tapas one weekday night before they closed the kitchen! This place is relatively affordable considering the price of the tapas is affordable for any budget and the paella feeds up to 5 people!
