Everglades River of Grass Adventures

Outstanding tour… a great way to visit the Everglades! Steve was a sensational tour guide and we (a family of five, with three young kids) were completely impressed with our two hour tour and our close up view of multiple alligators, birds and wildlife. Be sure to ask for Steve… he was a great guide with so many stories and information to share.
The experience on an airboat was great… fast and fun… amazing the way it virtually floats on top of the water. Feels like you are flying across the Everglades. and the kids had the chance to drive the boat, and loved it!
Be sure to bring sunglasses to protect your eyes and get ready to get a bit wet and wind blown. Bring a jacket… gets a bit cold as you race across the water.
Although the meeting point at the gas station (a few minutes from where you launch) may initially seem a bit sketchy… it is all good… nothing to worry about.
Absolutely make this part of your Miami vacation… a must see! Thank you Everglades River of Grass Adventures… we had a blast!

I cannot recommend this experience enough! From the staff to the tour, it was a once in a lifetime experience. They took great care of my parents who are 89 and 85. Steve was a perfect tour guide, both knowledgable and fun! We have been on the group Everglades tours and they do not compare to what you get with River of Grass Adventures. If you are going to spend money on one thing in Miami, spend it with these guys. You will not regret it!

These guys are awesome. Capt Steve lives that place and really is almost a conservationist in the area. He really values the wildlife and has been in the area for decades, so he knows his stuff. Best part, ‘Scar’ the alligator came up to the boat and I asked him if Scar knew him. He said he knows his voice and his boat in particular and that one time, he was in a different boat and had to call him out before Scar would show (but don’t confuse that with friendship as Scar would eat him in one gulp if given the chance!). Saw multiple alligators in all stages of life (4 days to many years) and got to fly across the everglades in his hotrod airboat (which he also races). Very well worth the trip.

Some friends and I were on a road trip through Florida and an airboat ride was on all of our collective bucket lists. The owner of this business was quick to reply to questions and extremely helpful. Her son met us at the Pilot station and led us to the boat ramp, where he introduced us to Captain Steve. Steve is an awesome airboat pilot. He knows the area well and goes out of his way to make sure you have a great time. From the adventure of flying through the River of Grass to the wonders of the animal life, this was an outstanding trip. We all enjoyed it so much that even a driving rain couldn’t dampen our excitement. Go see these great folks and tell them the guys from Texas sent ya. You won’t regret it!

This was the perfect airboat ride. Captain Steve was down home boy with lots of charm and knowledge of The Everglades. We had an hour and a half ride and left wanting more. His respect for «The «glades» and all the flora and fauna was just what we wanted. Will be back with more visitors.

I took this tour with my family and it was incredible. Captain robert was so awesome! He got more then up close and personal with gators. We must of seen 25… but always felt safe. I felt like I was drifting over scenery that I have never seen with my own eyes only on TV. We must of been going 50 miles an hour, well it felt like that! Anyway I don’t right that much reviews but this experience was worth 5 min of my time to share :)

Hands down, one of the best tours I’ve done. I wasn’t fully aware of what an airboat is, but it’s crazy fast, even more than a speedboat, and almost hydroplanes over water and land. Be prepared to fly across the Everglades. Kids absolutely love it!
Bring a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes and a hat or hair tie for your head.

Alligators can’t chew — only crocs can — so no need to worry about getting too close to them.
Definitely make this a part of your Miami vacation. You won’t be disappointed.

I booked an evening trip and private tour for my wife and I on our honeymoon. I’m glad I did as it was absolutely perfect. Seeing the gators really come to life as the sun set on the horizon was super exciting.
The owner was nice enough to give up his Friday night to take us out and we really appreciated it. His airboat was top notch. It’s clearly custom built using the best parts. This is one of those companies you want to be super successful because they are so great but you don’t want them to grow too much because perfection doesn’t scale.

My husband and I were in Miami for a longish weekend. I must have watched too many CSI Miami episodes as I have put the Everglades Air Boat Ride (I only learned that weekend, that that’s what it would be called) on my bucket list. Thank you to Becky and Robert for helping me check off this quite exciting activity that I can’t wait to do again, in a few years may be with my daughter.
Their customer service is superb, everything from picking up the phone on you (I suspect Becky never turns the phone off), to telling you all about the tour, committing to memory the availability of open spots and confirming the same, offering to call shortly to confirm, promptly responding to a request that was sent via website and follow up emails, sending you all the information where to meet, when, etc., meeting you in the middle of nowhere at a gas station that is somewhat intimidating due to a seemingly local biker stop, and leading you finally on to the boat destination, making an easy payment on the spot, offering to take pictures of you (they had me at «Let’s take the before picture.»), offering water during the tour, etc. etc. No wonder they are so highly rated.
Now about the actual tour. While we booked a semi-​private tour, the other party canceled and so we ended up having a private one. This also meant that we got Becky and Robert some quality time on the Air Boat, which I suspect that don’t get too often, but I diverge. I was also hopeful that it was not going to be one of those tours where you’re promised to see whales and no whales actually show up, darn whales. There are plenty of spots that Robert knows and takes you to, to make sure you see the alligators. And boy did we see them. We even saw some alligator nests.
The most thrilling, was definitely the air boat itself. I love water and boats and speed and wind in my hair and so this was the perfect combination of all. The most memorable and surprising was watching the clouds in the water just slide by. I could sit there and watch that for hours. One note, please make sure to close your mouth, as stuff like bugs may fly into it at such speeds. Also bring plenty of sunscreen, a hat that can be secured to your head and long sleeve shirt. You should be all set!

Fantastic tour! A dream come true for me. I’ve wanted to go on an airboat ride since I was a little girl. Scar gave us a wonderful tour and showed us alligator nests, purple gallinues, and swamp apples. We learned that everglade spider webs have the strongest string, how to tell north from south, and why frog float on mats of the everglade floor. A great day. Thanks Scar!

6÷26÷14. A great way to spend a couple of hours in the Everglades. Personal and accomodating service, plenty of gators and birds, and an absolute blast skimming over the river of grass. Robert was our guide and airboat operator, and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable on this very hot day. He obviously loves the Glades and loves showing his clients the special parts of this incredible landscape. Becky handled the office portion and was timely and courteous in meeting and taking us to the launch point.
We highly recommend this company for an excellent experience in the Glades.
