We were just looking for a quick place to eat near our hotel in downtown, and wandered over to Fresh. Owner/server was nice, but maybe a little bit too busy — an order got messed up and it took surprisingly long to actually get our lunch and the smoothies we ordered. And the food was just alright. Nothing too fancy. Just a simple sandwich/salad place. By the way — if it’s raining, there is very little seating inside…

I had to have a late lunch, at my desk, so I figured healthy delivery was the way to go. I decided to check out Fresh Café and called to make sure they would deliver to me. Dennis, the owner, answered the phone and was very courteous. He told me the lunch rush was over so there was no worry about delivering to me(regardless I am in the delivery area) and not to worry about the minimum delivery amount if that was a problem($ 10). so, I checked out the on-line menu and was really excited to finally give this place a shot since my initial contact had been so good. I called back, spoke to Dennis again, and placed my order for the turkey burger(they sell out fast and I got the last one for the day) with provolone cheese(upon his recommendation) with a green side salad. the total wasn’t enough for the $ 10 minimum, but Dennis said ‘don’t worry’…he then went on to explain that they would be closed for the next three days(weekend & holiday) and would I like him to throw in a cookie?! I couldn’t decide between peanut butter and oatmeal so(nice!) he gave me one of each. the wait wasn’t long but I was pretty eager to finally try this place. I grabbed the bag, sat at my desk, and got ready to chow when I realized there was no side salad(but the cookies were there). I called Dennis to let him know and told him not to worry, I didn’t want the delivery guy coming back just for that. Dennis was gracious enough to offer a discount next time I ordered as long as I reminded him. Satisfied with the effort and courtesy he showed, I let it go with no issue and settled down to eat. now, I know delivery can never be compared to an in-house meal, but I must say I was a bit let down by the quality. the handmade turkey burgers, although somewhat seasoned and made with peppers inside the patty, was a bit on the bland side, a little dry and overcooked, and in no way remarkable. the cookies on the other hand were very tasty and delicious — although I got 2 peanut butter and no oatmeal :( despite the lackluster first experience, I will definitely try this place again. somehow I feel that my experience may have been a fluke due to bad timing(friday after lunch-rush before a 3-day holiday weekend). I hope this was a one time deal and have faith that they will redeem themselves given another chance… to be continued!

Ok so I went back today, and the Turkey Cheddar Bacon wrap is awesome! Fresh tasting, crunchy bacon, crisp lettuce, and just enough mayo. Yum.

Nice place for breakfast and lunch or just for a drink and something sweet. The menu is American/Mediterranean with a twist. A fresh place in downtown.

Some coworkers and I in from California were walking around downtown and came across this great little café. We complained of a hangover and got the hangover special– a spicy vitamin packed little drink. Then, we all ordered wraps, and I had great fresh tuna with sprouts in a nice burrito roll. OK, then the power outage hit, but we didn’t notice anythign since we were just sitting and chilling. I’m not kidding. The proprietor made a joke about slowly melting frozen yoghurt, which we all thought was odd. I ordered a coffee, and she was like — there’s a power outage! It was funny. Anyways, we went back in the afternoon to get smoothies that were also GREAT. I had visited Little Havana & South Beach– but here was good quality, fresh ingredients, nicely put together, with a friendly fun staff. If I lived in Miami I would frequent this place quite often.
