We were arbitrarily asked to leave while finishing our drinks because they had the table reserved, we were shocked! One of the individuals in our party got so sick from eating there that ended up in the hospital with food poisoning. Finding an acceptable restaurant in Miami is becoming a rare commodity this days.

Definitely amazing service! Endri was incredibly sweet and sociable. Very nice guy. We made the mistake of not correctly calculating a tip as the idiotic group of five we are and hope he doesn’t hate us now… Next time you visit leave a little extra from us

The raw beef that you cook by your self was fantastic, server was nice. But all the cooked food which was served was very disappointing. The picture shown on the menu was completely opposite from the ones that had been served.

Despite how immensely busy it was the service was exquisite. Ask for Endri, he’s sociable, likable, and on point. Any meat you choose is a grand experience to have. Bring your friends and family. Also come with money because you might want everything, especially the desserts. Bön appetit’.

I’ve been hooked ever since my first visit to this location. I’ve also been to the one in LA and they’re both nothing short of amazing. This restaurant is bbq style kind of like Korean style bbq where you cook the meats yourself. This can be extremely fun for kids and families. The atmosphere is very laid back and a little on the loud side. So if you want a quiet reserved place this might not be the spot for you. As for the food, all the beef we had was nothing short of delicious, the sea food was nothing special I’d skip out on that and order some more beef if I were you. The fried rice is definitely a must try along with their spicy tofu soup. Another plus is that every time we’ve gone the drinks have been happy hour price($ 1.50), so keep those leechy martinis coming please! all in all, I definitely recommend this place, I absolutely love it!

I work a couple of blocks away from Gyu-Kaku. There is not an item on their menu that isn’t delicious. I’ve had many of the appetizers, which are always full of flavor and priced very well. The meat quality has always been tops and fresh. I would recommend the bibimbap(sp?) rice or any of their rices really — be careful, they are addicting and you will fill up on them quick! I like that the menu has so many offerings that I can go and not do the cook-my-own-meat thang. Lots of times I’m just in the mood for the great rice or some apps and that’s no issue. They have a great lunch menu and I love that they added a lunch special that only brings you 2 or 3 appetizers(sorry, I forget if it’s 2 or 3) for under $ 10!!! Always specials on beers. I do have to say, the service is never the same. One meal it’s spot on, the next you’re left waiting forever for food. Usually doesn’t stop me though. I recommend a reservation at dinner time — we tried getting in on a Friday night once and the wait was at least 35 minutes, way too hangry for that. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program — it’s legit and easy to rack up points which give you free food dishes, s’mores, etc. I have to say it’s one of the reward programs easiest to rack up the points! If you haven’t been, go. It’s totally worth it.

Walked into this place for my second time my girlfriend’s first time for lunch and we both came out impressed. First off the location on the corner of a hotel has no parking except for the valet which is $ 6 when you eat at the restaurant. But we are reviewing the restaurant not parking am I right? As soon as you walk in you are greeted enthusiastically in Japanese by everyone you encounter. You are seated in front of a table with a grill in the middle: Pretty cool. Since we were there for lunch we got a lunch menu with specials. For around $ 15 bucks a person you get an amazing deal which includes soup, salad, a bowl of rice and a few different marinated meats that you can cook on the grill. The Miso soup was very tasty just the right amount of tofu and other ingredients. Salad and the dressing hidden at the very bottom were really fresh and sweet. Along with the lunch special you can upgrade your rice bowl for a Sukiyaki Bibimbap bowl which is mixed at your table. DOYOURSELF A FAVOR and do like Shia LaBeouf and JUSTDOIT! You won’t regret it. As an appetizer we got the dumplings which were good when you added some ponzu and spicy sauces that they had on the table. I chose Hanger Steak, Pork belly and Skirt Steak marinated and garnished with an herb and sesame seeds. The waiter gives suggestions on how long you should cook your protein on the grill but really up to you. After the meat sizzled on the grill for about 2 – 3 minutes I tasted the delicious flavor. Oh man I felt like a grill master. But have to give it to Gyu Kaku they know what they’re doing. Our waiter kept our glasses filled and the delicious food kept us satisfied throughout. Overall great experience that I would recommend to anyone looking to try some Japanese BBQ in the Brickell and Miami area. Great place for lunch their specials are definitely worth it.

Korean Barbecue it’s been my fav since I lived in Japan. Everywhere I travel I always look for it. So I was absolutely ecstatic when I found one right here in Miami. I’ve been to the one they have in Chicago and it’s great so my expectations were high. As soon as you arrive you are greeted in Japanese by the hostess and all the staff. Be ready for all that yelling. The places looks kind of dark and with lots of wood but smells like barbecue. From the outside and waking in doesn’t look big. But there’s plenty of tables and private rooms for parties. Once you are seated the waiter turns on the grill. You will be cooking your meal if you haven’t figure it out. You are handed a menu with lots of pictures of the meat cuts you can order. For a rookie it may be overwhelming. Be patient, don’t order everything at once & ask plenty of questions. I recommend the hanger, the filet and the bibimbap rice. Just delicious. The fish is not that great. And if you order vegetables the will charge you $ 4 for 5 slices of cucumber. I would rather spend the money ordering the meat cuts. Another great deal was the Kirin beer, it was $ 1 per glass I think it was like 12 to 16 oz. probably by now it’s $ 2 or $ 3. Price point it’s average for miami a new for 4 should be around $ 100-$ 130 w drinks. I’ve been 3 – 4 times in past 2 months and will keep going back.

Absolutely delicious, well-marinated meats, fair prices and great service. I’ve always been a fan of Korean BBQ, but Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ has truly wow’d me!

Was invited here by a dear friend of mine, Aiman last night. The service was top notch. The food was pretty fantastic and the ambiance was great. I honestly felt like I was in another city. They had a great holiday special which allowed us to try a bunch of great meats. I personally loved the meat a lot more than the chicken. They also have happy hour specials. I’m very pleased with the service and quality and will certainly be back soon. My friend is Muslim and they happily accommodated the request for no pork. Even though I eat pork I appreciated how attentive they were with him.

Had the opportunity to try this location recently with the spouse for our anniversary. She has been here before and couldn’t stop talking about how good it was so she wanted to bring me. The restaurant is a very nice establishment kinda a mix between casual and high end. Its a different experience when eating here. Not your typical restaurant, you actually cook your own meat in the center pit of your table! We order a bunch of different meats to try, fried rice and garlic noodles. Everything I ate was great. The service was a bit slow almost felt like they might have been short staffed. It would take sometime before the waitress would pop back around for refills and any requests. Besides this everything else was great. Parking is Valet for the restaurant but unfortunately for us the valet was full so i had to drive around to find parking and if you live in Miami and frequent the Brickell area you know that’s a big pain in the but. Fortunately I found a parking location not to far for $ 5 which was pretty convenient.

Although the food here is still delicious, I’m removing one star because service here is never consistent. Sometimes its fast, sometimes its eternal! Sometimes the waiters are helpful, sometimes they treat you like you’re an inconvenience. Sometimes you can eat your meat with your rice, other times u get the meat and have to wait another 20 minutes for the rice. I also don’t like that they have a new made up «policy» every time I come. One day we are allowed to split checks, even for a party of 10. Another day, anything over 6 people cannot be split. One day parties of 6 can order whatever they want, another day they MUST order from the set courses menu. My husband and I have brought at least 20 friends here on different occasions. 3 of them for anniversaries. However, I probably won’t bring any more because at this point I am embarrassed to bring anyone since I don’t know what will happen that day. :(

Great experience with a big group of friends. We went during happy hour & had a variety of meats to share. My favorite was the chicken cheese fondue & beef tongue with scallion sauce. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous I definitely recommend that delicacy The staff was very informative & helpful when they brought the raw food letting us know how long each meat should be cooked for. One person in our party had a shrimp allergy & requested the grill be changed so she wouldn’t break out & the staff did so without hesitation. The only part that ruined our night was that a bunch of different servers came to help out our waitress & because of this they weren’t able to split our check because they did not know that would be the situation. We had to wait about an hour before we could resolve this issue unfortunately, so next time I know not to let anyone who isn’t our assigned waiter to take our order.

Grandisimo! Enorme sitio siendo el spicy tuna volcano y la lady M lo mejor de la carta! El servicio ademas excepcional y muy atento. Especial mención Andres, al que veo cada vez que vengo, y a Sebastián, que tampoco nos ha fallado nunca. Totalmente recomendado. Spicy tuna is a must!

I’m posting another updated review because the food is still great, but I’m lowering it by one star because the service is just not up to par, or is not consistent. One day they might be nice, but the next they aren’t and service is just dreadful. They also love changing rules which are not rules just things that they want to impose on customers because they feel like it. Other than the above, the food is good, just keep it in mind when coming here. Happy Patient Eating!!!

I have mixed feelings about this place, for a few reasons. I’ll start with the positives. This is more about the experience than the food, so it’s a good place to take a date. It’s a neat concept I’ve seen in many other cities with a large Asian population but it’s a new thing for Miami. The little grill at the table is pretty cool, the meat was well marinated and tasty. It was fun to throw a few different things on the grill and cook it up with the tiny tongs. Now for the not so great part of this review. Like most restaurants in Miami, especially large chains, service was not good. I usually don’t pay attention to service issues, but these were pretty bad. Like no rice in an Asian restaurant bad. Yes, that’s right, THEYWEREOUTOFRICE! Actually, they were out of a lot of things, like veggies. My dinner consisted of meat and scallops. Perfect if I were on the Atkins diet, but I left a little hungry and not so great for my friend’s(mostly) vegetarian girlfriend. Also our very cute waitress was very inattentive, never bothering to check up on us or even attempt to bring the bill. I wouldn’t call it a terrible experience overall, but to pay big bucks and leave hungry in a place I cook my own food. Not something I’ll do often, and probably not here.

Absolutely addicting and outstanding food! I have come here time and time again, mostly because of my love for the Asian sensation that consists of grilling meat dishes ;) Whether you know it by its Korean or Japanese association, this restaurant definitely does justice to it’s place of origin. The food is impeccable and the quality of the product finds little to no match in any other establishment in town. Not to mention the amazing lunch deals and happy hour specials are out of this world and very hard to find in the 305. It attracts crowds of all ages and ethnicities which really makes me feel like this place is genuinely loved by unbiased patrons who enjoy good food. Needless to say, I recommend a visit or 10 to this unique mega concept of family style eating.

I am so glad that Gyu Kaku exists in Miami because there are very few Japanese BBQ’s or Korean BBQ’s in the area. Gyu Kaku helps with that Asian protein fix. Gya Kaku is a chain restaurant which is a mixture of Korean and Japanese BBQ dishes. I valet right next door at the Infinity. It was only 6 dollars. We went to Gyu Kaku during the Yakiniku festival which starts July 7th-Sept 7th. Yakiniku means grilled(which basically is what most of Gyu Kaku’s dishes are). So during this«festival» we have deals off some meat such as the toro beef and harami skirt steak miso with a limited time only spicy jalapeño miso flavor. We also went on a Sunday which is Happy Hour the whole day. So it was deals on deals for us! First we started off we appetizers: 1. Calamari: nice and crunchy, comes with its own hot mayo sauce and a lemon. 2. Wasabi crunchy shrimp: Sweet fried shrimp with a hint of wasabi 3. Tofu Chigae: Korean tofu soup. Nice and spicy I also ordered two drinks for myself: 1. Shochu Mimosa: nice and sweet. You can really taste the strawberry. 2. Shishito Margarita: A Japanese pepper margarita. Sweet, but you can definitely taste the pepper which is more like a bell pepper instead of a hot one. Apparently this is the only one of it’s kind in the whole Miami area according to my waiter. We then ordered for our rice dishes sukiyaki bimbimbap and sausage bimbimbap. Both are basically rice in a stone bowl with meat, Gochujang(korean pepper paste) and other vegetables. The meats we ordered were all off the happy hour menu because it was just such a good deal: 1. Beef tongue: They added too much salt that you can see but it tasted good if you just wipe it off. 2. Filet Minion: Nice and tender pieces with no sauce. 3. Toro beef and toro beef with the limited time spicy jalapeño flavor. The spicy jalapeño flavor was just ok for me. But I love the toro beef alone 4. Yaki Shabu with the tare sweet soy. Great flavoring with just amount of sweet. 5. And the bacon wrapped scallop: hard to keep together but it was good. What I love about Gyu Kaku is that they always tell me how to cook it. Sometimes I don’t know how long and I either burn it or under cook it. The waiter even showed me the best way how to cook the bacon wrapped scallops which is cook on the sides first to get the bacon crispy. We then were super full, buy we mentioned to the waiter that it was my friend’s birthday so we got free smores. It was a great way to end a meal. Since it was Yakiniku Festival, each person gets a card which has a free deal inside. I got the New York steak so I cannot wait for my next trip to Gyu Kaku because of the excellent food, prices you cannot beat and excellent customer service.
