I used to really like this place, and often ordered delivery. Then I noticed the quality had started to decline, and so I stopped ordering for awhile. Tonight, I thought, let me give Hannya another chance. I placed my order, via Hannya’s own website, at 8:56pm. After an hour and a half, my food hadn’t arrived. I called the restaurant at 10:30 and they said it should be there soon. I called back at 10:59 and said he’s still not here, and that i think i want to just cancel my order and go to sleep. They put me on hold while they called the driver(who they told me also happened to be the manager). They then told me he said he was 5 minutes away from my building. The driver/manager showed up at 11:15, unapologetic. I told him forget it, the food’s probably gross by this point after sitting out for so long, and I don’t want to pay for it. He shrugged and said ok, and turned around. I called out to him, «An apology would have been nice». He said«oh i was stuck in your elevator for 30 minutes». I told him I know that’s not true because 16 minutes ago I talked to your restaurant and they called you and you said you were still 5 minutes away from my building. He shrugged again and said oh well, it’s not my fault, not your fault. Then he walked away. Very disappointing. Beware.

Was very disappointed. So hungry everything would taste good but unfortunately that didn’t happen. No character and flat flavors. And for a classic roll as dragon roll, didn’t appear like one at all. Staff was very friendly and I got the food very fast.

This is my favorite sushi place in Brickell, and maybe my favorite in Miami if it weren’t for its sister restaurant, Akashi. They have legit sushi makers, some old men that look straight out of Japan, and they make amazing fresh sushi. Their rolls always stay together and the tastes are amazing. The service here is always pretty good because for some reason this place is always empty. Their happy hour is awesome, but I wish it went on until 8 because I usually can’t make such an early happy hour. That’s my only complaint! They even do happy hour on Saturdays which is awesome.

Go to sushi place in Brickell. Fast, easy, affordable and delicious. Service has always been phenomenal. Fast and friendly. Good selection of beers always served in a nice frosty glass. Best appetizer is the conch salad and of course sashimi. Their gyozas are delicious but not the best. In the mood for sushi? you have a wide variety to choose from. My favorite is the Alex #2 roll, but all their sushi is fresh and delicious. Definitely a good place to check out.

Happy Hour recently changed from 4pm-7pm to 4pm-6pm. Everything on the happy hour menu is great value. We had California roll, gyoza, tuna tartare, bagel roll, tuna roll, seaweed and hot sake. Each item is about $ 3.5-$ 5, size is about the half of regular order. But still really cheap for what it is. Sake tasted warm and sweet, all the rolls were made fresh. Tartare came with avocado on top, which we really liked. We also ordered Alex roll, it was a bit salty but overall not bad. We walked in a little bit past 6pm on Saturday, this place was almost empty. Service was prompt and waitresses were attentive, it’s one of the best service in Miami I would say. I would definitely come back.

I’ve dined in and ordered delivery several times. They do have some decent rolls and I like their fried tofu appetizer, but they seem to only have one delivery driver who will take 5 or more orders at a time. By the time the food gets to you it is no longer fresh and luke warm. It takes 1.5 hours or longer to get delivery. If you’re dining in and love fried and breaded rolls with spicy mayo or eel sauce this is the place. Maki rolls average around $ 14 and a la carte sushi is $ 3 a piece. Not bad. I prefer to eat«clean» and simple sushi that’s not fried and doesn’t have bread crumbs, mayo or cream cheese, but you won’t find many rolls like that here. The tempura cheese cake dessert was sub par and overpriced, with the inside still frozen. I wish Little Lotus was open on Sundays, because I am over this place.

Brickell has a ton of good/great sushi spots and this is definitely one of them. Hannya provides a nice selection of innovative sushi rolls and other Asian dishes. I have frequented this restaurant several times and the sushi is always fresh. On weekdays, I believe between 4−6pm, Hannya offers a great happy hour menu with $ 3 dollar rolls, saki, small plates and more. Last night my wife and I went to Hannya for dinner. We arrived at the restaurant around 7 pm and the place was completely empty. We did however see 3 – 4 customers come to the restaurant for pickup(my guess is that a majority of their business comes from take-out and deliveries). We sat immediately and were greeted by our very kind waiter. We informed the waiter we had a $ 50 gilt city voucher. On a side note: My wife and I are both deal people and some restaurants make it awkward for using deals like Gilt, Groupon, Living Social. However, the waiter at Hannya was extremely courteous and simply told us to present the voucher at the end of the meal. Let’s get to the dinner feast my wife and I ordered. Needing to spend $ 50 for our gilt deal, we ordered 4 rolls the Alex Roll, Hannya Roll, Part-Time Roll, and a Sunset Roll. The Part-Time roll usually comes with fried whitefish, but the sushi chef was able to accommodate my request with raw whitefish. All 4 rolls arrived about 10 minutes later and each roll was served with the freshest fish and were absolutely delicious. In addition, our water was continuously refilled and the overall service was great! I would definitely recommend Hannya to anyone looking for fresh sushi in Brickell. We live in very close proximity to Hannya and will probably add it to our regular rotation of restaurants.

We have been coming here since May of this year and we never fail to have the best service and great food quality. Kuya bong is the best guy I’ve ever met. He gives u the best experience u ever want. Mostly the stuff are very alert to get ur orders or to fill ur water. Will I invite my friends to try Hannya? Absolutely

There’s a strangeness here. can’t quite put my finger on the method to their madness. A couple people in our party were late in coming. That’s ’cause when they called for directions, one was told by the manager that the restaurant was by the airport. and the other friend was told by a female server the place was in Mary Brickell Village… and when questioned, said that she had no idea how to direct anyone to Hannya. yet she had no qualms about giving directions. Weird. Service was.um.disjointed at best. Some of us got two dishes while some got none… it took an hour to serve our party of seven. Some totally finished before others started. EVERY dish brought to the table, the server stood holding it up announcing what it was with no memory of who ordered it… till someone laid claim to it. Not too many people in the restaurant on a Friday night, almost empty. Yet, a party around a corner wall was SOLOUD, SORAUCOUS, I would have sworn they were the group that got thrown off the wine train in Sonoma last week… every now and then, it sounded like a dozen people got up, threw their dishes against a metal wall and screamed… WTH!!! I found out after running into two of them in the restroom that they were making Sake Bombs.(look it up).okay, absurdly loud but alll in fun… provided it doesn’t trigger your epilipsy! We asked for separate checks and they said no problem. Two of us got separate checks, presumably paid them and left. The trouble was that their food, about $ 50, was still on the single check presented to the rest of us causing us to briefly wonder if the 1st. two dined and dashed… Naaawww! Management blamed it in software that will only allow them to separate one or two checks. Okay, after deducting the already paid portion what was left for the rest of us was 8 or so dollars EACH less than what our actual bill should have been. yet nothing was missing from the check… like I said, weird. A perk is two hours free valet parking at 1050 Brickell Plaza next door to the north. The secret to finding the restaurant is that you must approach on Brickell from the south and take the right fork which turns into Brickell plaza. and it’s right there… on your right… and in spite of a friendly though directionally challenged manager. And a very sweet space– cadet waitress, I would go back as I really enjoyed what I had, an Alex2 Roll, small salad and tempura veggies. and I didn’t hear anyone else in our party complaining either! Hannya is under the same ownership as Akashi in South Miami. A couple months ago, we had a reservation for a party of six there, made well in advance. Come Saturday evening, we were told that in spite of having a reservation, we could come… but might not get served as Saturdays are very busy.(how nice of the lady owner, manager. to say!) We went to Buns and Buns instead! xo-a .

Being a huge fan of Akashi I was excited to learn that Hannya was owned by the same family. I’m closer to Brickell so knowing that I could get my fave Alex #2 roll closer to home was awesome. Went with my husband on a Saturday night. I had made reservations but upon walking in noticed I really didn’t need to as we were the only patrons there, there were some others seated outside but none indoors. The space is bigger than Akashi, it has a New York feel with the subway tiled walls. The waiter approached the table and handed us the menu, there it was, my fave roll along with some others that sounded great. We chose to start with some spring rolls as appetizers. They were really good, piping hot as they had just been fried, good amount of filling and great sauce to dip in. We then ordered 4 rolls: the Alex #2 of course, dragon, Hannya and sexy mama. I wasn’t a big fan of the Hannya as it was too fishy for my taste but my husband liked it, I loved the other 3. We were too stuffed to order dessert. Overall I’m very happy they opened, they will be my go to when sushi cravings hit.

So after a short flight back from a really indulgent weekend in New York, hubby and I decided to order in something healthy. We figured, why not sushi ! We looked up the reviews to hannya and decided to give it a shot. Hannya roll– this roll is huge! Filled with advocado white fish, spicy mayo and tuna and jalapeño and topped with seared scallops, was very tasty. I spent an extra $ 1 for a larger roll that had no seafood Alex roll– tuna and avocado and spicy mayo. This was good, solid roll, slightly smaller than mine but tasty. Shrimp shumai– small and steamed with mayo. It was good but not sure where the usual sou based sauce was! Chicken fried rice– this was very good at 4.50 it had chicken egg and had a pork-bacon flavor we absolutely loved! A little pricey at about $ 50 for delivery, but really fresh and good portions. They also gave us a flyer for $ 3 happy hour drinks and appetizers that we will def try out!

Got invited to eat here with @thenaughtyfork today. The restaurant is owned by the owners of Akashi(another Japanese restaurant in south Miami and coconut grove). The menu is extremely similar, in fact I ordered the same exact thing I always get at Akashi– the Alex #2 roll and chicken fried rice. Both were delicious as expected, highly recommend both. The chicken fried rice come with a pretty big portion for only $ 4.50. The actual restaurant is bigger than Akashi with plenty of inside and outside seating. We choose to sit inside and received great service. If you like Akashi or if you’ve never tried it, definitely check out Hannya!

I went to Hannya for lunch a few weeks ago with friend who suggested it since we’re both big fans of Akashi. I had NO idea that Hannya was owned by the same folks! If i’d known, i’d have been MUCH sooner! I’m not sure why they didn’t name this place Akashi. I think if they had, they’d be a lot busier than they are. The place was dead. I really hope they don’t close. Note to the owners: if business is slow, change the name to Akashi! As I usually do, I ordered the Alex #2 with raw salmon instead of shrimp tempura(because i’m allergic) and a seaweed salad. The fish was extremely fresh. I really enjoyed my meal. My only complaint would be that the service was EXTREMELY slow. Our food took eons to make it to the table. This is Brickell and people are on their lunch breaks. We can’t all take two hour lunches. I’m hoping they’ll work on turning tables over faster and am looking forward to going back.

Seriously, go elsewhere. Save yourself the frustration. It’s not worth it and the sushi isn’t that great. I gave this place another chance and after waiting for an hour and a halftime my delivery I called the restaurant to check on my order. No one answers the phone for 10 minutes, it just rang and rang. I was afraid they may have gone out of business since I placed my order. Finally someone answers and tells me that the driver left not long ago. Yet it’s been twenty minutes since they told me that and I’m still waiting for my food to show up. UPDATE: I finally got my order after TWOHOURS. When the delivery guy got to my door and my fiancé complained about the wait, he told us he’s not even a driver for hannya and that hannya calls other restaurants to do their deliveries for them. And to top it off, he says hannya called him 10 minutes prior to him getting to our place and I believe him. Also — the rolls absolutely suck. They fall apart as soon as a chopstick touches them. Still trying to call the restaurant and they still aren’t answering their phones but don’t worry, I’ll call again tomorrow. This is pathetic.

This is my second time to Hannya and I have to say I really like it. First and foremost the sushi that I’ve had both times has been very fresh. I’ve had the sashimi appetizer twice and its big enough for two people to share or have it as a full meal which is what I do. My wife likes the mixed tempura which both times has been served piping hot and is also a very big portion. We split the restaurants signature roll called the Hannya roll and although I’m not a sushi roll guy but have to admit that it was very good. My wife also had the rice cakes with tuna on top which is her favorite and she loves it. So if you’re in the middle of Brickell and feel like sushi you can’t go wrong here. The portions are very big and well worth the reasonable prices. Its my go to sushi restaurant and I think you’ll like it as well.

Service(for dinner) was great, food was ok, and be prepared to pay for Sriracha sauce. Word of advice to Hannya Management, don’t charge your customers for hot sauce, even if you claim to make it in house. Other establishments I frequent make their own sauces and they are free of charge or at the very least priced into the meal. If you are into loads of ingredients in/on your sushi rolls to mask the fact you are eating fish then this spot is for you; most of the recommended rolls on Unilocal and from the server were rolls loaded with cream cheese and other ingredients I don’t care to eat with fish. Spicy octopus was good, seaweed salad was ok(ironically Mash Potatoes in South Miami has amazing seaweed salad) and noodles were greasy.

Fancier building and higher prices than Akashi(their South Miami location). They have free valet parking with validation. Call them for details. The valet area is nearby in the middle of two condo buildings. They have a special menu on weekends that includes phở($ 13). Of the phở in Miami it definitely was one of better Miami broths. The meat was not plentiful, a bit scarce. I liked the herb and condiment plate. The sushi is tasty as usual, but is a little bit pricier than their sister restaurant Akashi. Thai Donuts($ 5.50) were freshly fried and crispy.

Good service. Sushi rolls were fresh prices are average to the Brickell area. Spicy octopus(13 $) from the sushi bar was delicious. Octopus texture was perfect and the flavors in this dish were a great combination. A spicy tangy and sweet dressing My favorite dish so far Mermaid roll(16 $) was delicious and fresh raw fish. I like to think it was a healthy choice with spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado and seaweed salad on top Very refreshing flavors Alex 2 roll(13.50 $) was good but you must like tempura to enjoy this roll. Shrimp tempura, Krab salad, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayo, etc not my cup of tea but others seemed to enjoy it very much so if you like this types of rolls then this seems to be very good. They have a good selection of cold sakes for around 20 $ to 45 $ a bottle… Some wines and beers Overall a good experience for sushi in Brickell. I think they deliver so that is a big plus.

Awesome sushi rolls at a very reasonable price! I ordered the Hannya roll, Mariano roll, and the Alex #2 roll! My favorite was the Hannya roll! Seared scallops are my jam. The flavors just came together so well and tasted clean. The Mariano roll was on the heavy side because of the baked salmon on top but damn it was delish! The front room has about 10 seats on the side and a long high top. The restaurant goes back further to the left which surprised me. The sushi bar has a beautiful blue glowing fish tank in back. Very cute restaurant that kind of reminded me of Momi but with a sushi bar. They also have a nice lunch menu and serve«brunch» on the weekends. Their brunch menu turns into a mixture of vietnamese and korean cuisine. Odd but I dig it. I hear the phở is pretty good here so I’ll have to try them out one weekend.
