Very basic, very good fried chicken, perfectly cooked. Large, juicy pieces of chicken breaded and cooked to a reddish golden color, leaving the skin crispy, and sealing in all the juices. They had three friers running for chicken on Saturday night, and we’re serving orders of chicken and«papas» or tostones– also perfectly cooked– at about one every two minutes. Busy and brisk. The neighborhood is mostly Dominican, with other interesting and busy restaurants nearby. This one is mostly takeout… Although a couple patrons were standing at a counter off to the left of the door having their chicken. There were other selections in the display case… A pork chop dish that the customer ahead of me ordered the last of, and some macaroni salad. The salad was off in a side cabinet and looked untouched… Perhaps left over from lunch; no one else was ordering it so I passed. The establishment isn’t fancy– very utilitarian. Service was polite and fast. There was a soda cabinet also. The chicken and tostones, which were taken home to eat, were delicious. I’ll be back!
