We finally managed to make a reservation and eat on a rainy Miami night. The place was packed but we didn’t feel too cramped with the table arrangements. They get a lot of bang for their buck in space. Anyway, we were sat quite fast and the waiter was quick to bring us water and bread. We ordered off the wine of the glass menu to try Italian varietals instead of committing to just a bottle(Vermentino, Ripasso) We also ordered from the specials menu and were both pleased with the look and taste of the dishes(braised short-rib and tuna steak risotto) and got dessert. They also featured pizza on the menu… A lot of tables(4 – 6 persons) all eating one pizza… Really guys? There are better authentic Italian pizzeria’s in the area for the half the price. You really don’t need to share a $ 14 small pie! Must be a Wynwood thing? I don’t know. It bothered me. Overall, Joey is a solid 3.5 with good food and solid service and fresh clean décor.

I will make this short and sweet. The restaurant has a cool look to it but that is where it ends. The food is slightly above average but forgettable. The service is not bad BUT not great either. It is safe to say that I will not be returning.

What a cute little romantic oasis in the backyard of the restaurant! The ambiance really hit the high marks for me. It was cozy and adorable, and reminded me of the NYC restaurants that have that type of backyard as well. We had to wait a bit for our table to clear, as it was a busy night and we had a large party 12. It took forever for the waitress to take our drink and food orders but I’ll chalk it up to our large party. We ordered a few salads from the menu and some pasta and pizza dishes family style(which we then learned wasn’t the smartest idea because the portions are more for individual eating). Nevertheless the food was delicious and we all had a fantastic dinner experience. I would probably recommend coming here with a smaller group or a romantic date, you will probably enjoy the space alot more that way and probably faster service. Looking forward to returning with my husband for some more pizza!

Oh I love joeys. Used to go there a lot because it was close to work. I have eaten all The paninis and they’re all amazing! The pizza are good too. And their soups are to die for. Top!

Omg! So excited to come here. Table of 2. We sit and wait. And wait. And wait. We ask for water and wait some more for some«clean glasses». After 10 mins we ask who our waitress is and she was stopped in her steps. We ordered a $ 28 appetizer and 2 beers and noted the time. The beers came after another 10 mins and no appetizer. After complaining about the lack of water, after another 5 mins, the water was served. After 35 mins, we asked the waitress about our appetizer. She said«remind me again what you ordered». We told her and she bolted to the kitchen. We then caught the manager who was walking by. Told him of our tale. He said he’d be right back. He soon returned and told us «I have your beers covered». With no explanation given, we left. Will never return to joeys and warn those to be patient with high prices and crappy ass service.

I’m not a big fan of Wynwood. I find that there are a lot of better restaurants in other areas of Miami. I had never heard of this restaurant. But on a Thursday night out with some friends to celebrate my bday, I stumbled upon Joey’s. We were 9 starving girls when we came in. On a Thursday at 9pm we were seated rather quickly. The restaurant had a great vibe to it. Very inviting, nice music playing in the background and a good crowd. Our server came immediately to take our orders and bring us water. We started with a couple of bottles of wine. They have a great selection of wine and also rum for those who prefer harder drinks. We ordered several different plates all of which were excellent. The best dish of the night and all my friends agreed was the Seafood Risotto. The texture of the Risotto was perfect. So creamy and full of flavor. It made my tongue tingle actually. It was filled with shrimps and clams. Now I don’t normally eat clams but I ate all of them! It’s a pretty big dish so I’d suggest you share. The Gorgonzola pizza was delicious. All my friends were pretty content with their plates. No one had anything negative to say. Not sure why this place doesn’t have better reviews. The food was great and the service was excellent. I especially liked the intimate ambience and the outdoor seating is a really nice option. If in Wynwood again, I would definitely return.

Unilocal should have an option for 0 stars! SERVICEANDMOSTOFTHEFOODTERRIBLE! I went to this place in 2015 and the experience was«OK» but I gave it a second chance yesterday. I will never come back to this restaurant. Also, we had a very bad experience with the«italian waiter» not only with the service but also with the money. This people think the can do whatever they want because they are in the middle of wynwood. DONTGOTOTHISPLACE, AGAINTERRIBLE!

The only reason I’m giving two stars was because of the service… It was amazing. Our waiter was very personable and would try to cater to all our needs. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to overpower the terribly bland food. Let’s start with the wine. I’m not sure if they are trying to stretch out their wines but they are definitely tasted like they were diluted. Either that or it was old wine that was probably open and out all day. At fist I ordered a pilot noir and I had to return it and get a cabernet sauvignon which was also stale and watered down. The food left something to be desired… maybe some flavor. The first item we ordered was the fiocchi. When we saw fiocchi on the menu we were excited and that excitement immediately left us with the first bite. The stuffed ravioli was very bland and the presentation was sloppy. The pasta with shrimp wasn’t even edible. The shrimp was overcooked and the pasta wasn’t even fully cooked with various noodles hard and crunchy. The dessert was pretty good, no complaints there. We went with the chocolate cake with ice cream and whipped cream. If you are in Wynwood and looking to eat Italian, well walk right passed Joey’s because you will leave very disappointed and hungry. Maybe if I ever go back there again I’d probably try the pizza. Maybe they were having an off day but honesty everything on the menu minus the dessert can’t be attributed to an off day.

This place has a lovely little outdoor seating area but if you don’t make a reservation on a busy art walk night, you will probably end up inside. That is what happened to us but that’s ok — because they were awesome enough to accommodate us even though we were too lazy to make reservations. We had garden pizza(whole wheat crust) and added pepperoni and tomatoes to it. In my opinion, a «garden» pizza should have some darn tomatoes but whatever, as long as we can throw some on there I’m cool with it. Although the tomatoes were MIA, the other veggies were pretty unique. Eggplant, zucchini, and asparagus. Basically a pizza for super fancy people that consider tomatoes to be too common place for their sophisticated palate. The combination was DELICIOUS!!! How will I ever just do the regular garden pizza with mushrooms and other lowly veggies? Not sure but I’ll try. I had the Pinot Grigio and it was good and reasonably priced. Service was great and by the time we left, there was not a single seat available so I’m sure our departure was met with great delight and cheers! I like that Wynwood has an Italian restaurant. That’s it. Just Italian. It may not be hip, or cool, or stationed inside of a truck, but its good and when I don’t want to risk it with some strange food that’s all the rage, it’s good to know you can go to an Italian joint and have some pizza or spaghetti.

This has to be the WORST restaurant I’ve ever been to! The server was terrible, had a horrible attitude from the moment we sat down. The food was whatever… Beware, if you complain about your food taking 3HOURS to come out, you will get screamed at and called out of your name by the chef or whatever he was. Definitely not returning. Not worth spending your money here! Go somewhere else!!! TRUSTME!

Wasn’t very impressed. Maybe I came on a bad night but the food is subpar. The carpaccio was unusually melted on the plate unlike anything I’ve ever seen or tasted before. Texture was a little odd. The pasta as well was undercooked and very bleh. The restaurant Definitely has a great atmosphere and location but not worth coming for the subpar food. I’ve heard the pizza is really good which maybe I’ll come by and try but as far as pasta, I would definitely pass on that.

I visited Wynwood during Art Basel with my husband and we had a dinner bere. Place was packed but our italian waiter was very attentive with us. Daniele suggests to try a special appetizer with scallops. We had tortellini and rib eye… The quality is unbeliveble. We drank a Bruciato… top

Busy Saturday night. Friendly restaurant but bit dark for my taste. Tables are too close to each other so when food is delivered, someone on the other table has to move. My friend and I were seated at the bar which 5 are accommodated uncomfortably and there’s barely room for 2 bartenders behind the counter. Someone who looked like a sous chef recommended the braised elk($ 32), and I must say it was very tender(no gamy at all); my friend tried the seafood platter($ 28) which had a great presentation and was mostly fresh. Portions are fair to large, maybe not enough for sharing. Drinks were great, not overpowered by alcohol, enjoyable and tasty, I ordered Lychee martini while my friend tried the ginger one($ 15/ea), a young bartender was very attentive and pleasant, smiling, enjoying his work. Took 2 stars because they charge gratuity up front and no chance to change the 18% and the fact that the older bartender was cussing the waiters out loud. Kudos to the waiters because they didn’t engage in any argument, nor had a bad attitude. My fault, I over tipped 18% + 18%. Would I return? Maybe…

Had a veggie pizza which was very good which is the only reason I am giving Joey’s 2 stars. At the end of our meal, a huge cockroach appeared on the wall, which then later moved its way to the floor. Not wanting to make a big deal, we simply moved to pay. However, when we mentioned it to our waitress, she was so rude about it. She wasn’t concerned that there was a cockroach, as her response was«sorry, we’re just really busy with Art Basel.» I mean, I get that you’re busy, however is that an excuse that you have cockroaches roaming around your restaurant? We suggested them calling an exterminator(after hours), but they were a bit reluctant to do anything about the matter. We thought they would have at least apologized, or given us a discount, but neither was given. Not going to be returning back here again. It was disgusting.

Joeys restaurant in Wynwood serves up some amazing Italian dishes. For an antipasti we had the Polipo, which is octopus covered in Balasmic, with artichokes and endive. Something nice to whet the appetite. I had to try their pizza, so I ordered the Parma e Funghi(pomodoro sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, mushrooms). This is a great pizza with a nice crust. Believe it or not, it actually reminded me of a pizza place in Tampere, Finland(Pizzeria Napoli, also top notch if you ever find yourself there, but I digress). I washed the pizza down with a glass of Tenuta L’Impostino(Tuscan) Dessert was a wonderful Tiramisu. Ambiance here is nice; not too loud, so you can have a conversation. Sit by the window and watch the people go by on 2nd avenue. Good, friendly staff as well. I’m coming back to try one of their pasta dishes.

The only reason it got a 3 instead of a 4 was because the service was slow. I went on a Saturday after 1PM and it took forever to get the check(the restaurant was practically empty). However!!! The food was wonderful. The margherita pizza was thin, NY style and had lots of good flavor and cheeeeeese. The fig and Gorgonzola salad was very good as well. The combo of figs, Gorgonzola, and the mustard based dressing was really light and refreshing

Good Italian food and decently priced. Great location and venue was modern and clean. The branzino was tasty and couldn’t go wrong with pasta with garlic and olive oil. Wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. Oh and the chocolate cake was good too.

Joey’s was not horrible. I actually think this place has a lot of great qualities about it. It just doesn’t stick out as a «memorable» dining experience the day I went. The section I was seated in was sub-zero freezing. It’s kind of odd for me to complain about this, because I usually love the AC on blast in most situations, but this cold was extremely uncomfortable. Also me and my sister and brother-in-law sat waiting for a waiter to come serve us for a good couple of minutes. Not even a simple greeting or some ice waters. After about 15 minutes or so of just waiting, our server finally came. We were pretty hungry, and in a rush, so we put it on orders immediately. We started with the Mista salad to share. This salad was pretty damn good. Probably one of the best salads I had in a long while. It had huge generous portions of fresh gorgonzola cheese, this really light and savory honey mustard dressing, and a lot of nice plump golden figs. Then me and my sis shared the parma E fughi pizza. The parma pizza was very authentic, Italian style, and was actually pretty good. Was a great size to share between two people. I wish it had a little more garlic and tomato sauce(it was really dry.) I never thought I could say this… but I felt it had way TOO much prosciutto. Yes, prosciutto is one of my favorite, fatty, guilty pleasures, but I was literally choking on some bites on how much they put on it each slice. Overall, the service could use a little boost. But the food seems generally good and worth checking it out for.

The ambiance is nice with a fair amount of outdoor seating. The bathrooms definitely needed a good cleaning though. What is shocking is even though the bathrooms needed a good cleaning, they had the audacity to have someone outside directing people and trying to collect tips. The prices here are high for what you get. Entrees average probably around $ 25.00, though for the portions they are $ 15.00 dishes. We started with the Fig, honey and hot pepper pizza, which my wife recommended(good recommendation). My wife got the lamb shank special, I got the Tagliatelle Rucola and our friends got a ravioli dish(daily special) and a chicken salsa verde dish. Aside from the pizza, only my wife was satisfied with her dish. My steak was undercooked. I asked for medium, but it came out as Medium Rare at best. The ravioli, which was $ 25 – 30, was a pathetic 2 ravioli. For dessert I got the Pineapple Panacotta and my wife got the Crème Brûlée. Both were just average, but my wife did enjoy hers. The service was average. The waiter was fairly attentive throughout the meal.

First word of advice — only go on art walk night if you want to be a part of art walk. The area was crazy crowded! Almost unpleasant to walk around. Took us around five minutes to find a place to park. Luckily, though, we had reservations at the restaurant and were immediately seated on their patio. Our server was nice and made sure to point out the daily specials. He took our drink orders and came back pretty quickly with them, although as the restaurant filled up and the bar got busier the drinks definitely took longer. Through course of meal we had the midori cocktail which was good but definitely tastes like pineapple. The husband had a couple beers and our friends had the fruit mojitos(very good) and lychee Martinez which he enjoyed. We ordered the fig, cheese, honey and hot pepper pizza to start with. INCREDIBLE. We all agreed it was highlight of meal. Very generous with the fig and the hot pepper turned out to be flakes, not any type of actual pepper, but it provided perfect amount of spice. For entrees I had one of the specials. Slow cooked lamb shank over Parmesan risotto. Very good. The lamb was very meaty with a great sauce and delicious risotto. The husband had the tagliatelle rucola(grilled sirloin steak drizzled with herb oil) which he thought was a little uncooked. One of our friends ordered the ravioli special. He liked it, but it came with two pieces of ravioli. That is not an entrée and he wished he had been told. We all ended up giving him some of our food. Our other friend ordered the chicken in salsa verde. But he was served a piece of plain chicken with a bowl of salsa verde on side. Not what he was expecting at all and not very exciting. So, out of five dishes ordered, two were great, two were okay and one was blah. But setting is nice and prices are reasonable.

Very chic Italian restaurant conveniently located in Wynwood by the artsy walls! We got the COCONUTLONGISLANDICETEA which is strong but delicious and perfect to share for 2! I got the Middle Neck Clam Pasta that came in garlic and white wine sauce and was ahhhh-mazing. Currently waiting on extra bread to dip with the delish sauce. Must go to Italian restaurant! :-)

3.5+ stars. Loved their Spaghetti alle Vongole with mid neck clams, garlic white wine sauce. Clams were fresh and perfectly undercooked. Sauce wasn’t overly rich — pleasantly light and balanced with perfect amount of garlic. I asked for aldente and came perfectly(seldom perfect in a lot of places in Miami. This Italian chef did it yay!) Roasted potatoes were nice. Homemade tiramisu was good… Tad creamier in texture than I like, and espresso wasn’t dark enough. I don’t usually like tiramisu so am very picky when I do eat it. But most folks will like this one a lot. Service was excellent.

This is my second time coming to Joey’s and I still love it! It’s a great Italian restaurant and the vibe is great. I recommend making reservations just in case because on some nights it gets packed. To eat, I had the Carbonara and it was delicious. The first time I went, I had pizza, which was delicious as well. Parking– it’s basically road side parking and you know how parking in Wynwood can be at times. I do think the have valet but I’m not 100% sure. If you love Italian food then you for sure have to check this place out!
