I love this spot. Every time I come to town this little place is still chilling. Great food and always-great service. I would say try one of everything form the menu.

Yuk eeeeeewwww! What are you people talking about the only good thing about thi place is the free bruschetta you get at the beginning. My horrible experience: Brushetta bread was SOUR and hard Calamari was decent but so hot it probably had just cone out of the microwave «fettucini» alfreado was for sure campbells cream of muchroom. The sauce was nasty the pasta was over cooked. My water had a fly in it. Our server was totally uninterested in his job. Stay away in mimo and design district there are so many GREAT choices. Try Mai tardi, soyka, or michaels This place is gross Oh and the price? It’s cheap… I wonder why

Very good Italian restaurant with top notch service. I have eaten here at least 4 times in the past month alone, it is that good. First thing to know about this restaurant is that not everything is on the menu. The have an amazing pear tortoloni(tortolini’s bigger cousin) with sausage, which is a sweet and savory dish and different from your everyday Italian fare. However, if you are in the mood for delicious lasagna, they also offer it here, even though it is not on the menu. The décor is classic formal Italian and is nice place to take someone to impress for business. The only drawback is that the tables are too close together for my taste. However, if you are able to eat on the patio the tables outside offer a little more space. The service is great, and very detailed, including making sure that the door is opened for you when you enter or leave. This place also offers free valet parking in the garage next to the restaurant. Come here for a great Italain food experience.

my husband and kids had a perfect dinner here last night. Our waiter was polite and the help was fantastic also. I had the filet mignon with the brandy peppercorn sauce(au poivre). We ordered a pizza for the kids and husband had linguine with lobster. Everything was excellent. We finished the night with crepes Suzette, tiramisu, and crème brûlée. I will be back for good food and service at a great price.

Went there for lunch today and was surprised by the reasonable prices! The staff was nice and attentive. The food was also good. The bruschetta was very fresh. I ordered the portobello pizza. My only issue was that I would’ve like the mushrooms better if they were cooked a little more. However, it was still good– thin slices with tasty cheese, and huge pieces of mushrooms. And the best part? I brought some home for the hubby!

The outside name has changed so I was skeptical walking in. Was told that they changed their name and menu up a little, but decided to change the original name back. YAY… and menu… Three of us, ordered a bottle of wine to start. Nice smooth Chianti for $ 30, and Calamari with Zucchini. Wine was light, smooth, and a quick easy finish. Calamari was excellent and the marinara sauce was so good. Main entrée: Rigatoni Catania– was no longer on the menu and it is my favorite, so of course the chef said he would make it. Quite happy and I think it was better last night then all of my previous visits. Rigatoni with fresh chopped tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, chunks of delicious Italian Sausage, and mushrooms with fresh grated parmesan cheese… Belissimo!!! Hubby and friend ordered pasta dishes as well. All of our food was fantastic. A nice addition is they finish cooking the pasta in the dining room in front of you. Their food is very good, and always consistent, prices are average, service is above good, décor is very comfortable. They do a great job, and I always return. My friend said he really enjoyed it and thought the food and service was outstanding! Ciao, until next time!

I had heard great reviews about this place and finally gave it a try this weekend. I was not disappointed. The service was excellent. We were seated promptly and welcomed with delicious bruschetta on focaccia bread, and regular bread as well. I ordered the tortellini stuffed with veal in a cream sauce. It was very good — the cream sauce was delicious, but I wasn’t crazy about the peas. My fiancé ordered the chicken stuffed with spinach and mascarpone cheese. He thought the spinach was a bit overwhelming, but liked it overall, and his linguini with garlic and olive oil side dish was ridiculously good. For dessert, we had the Tiramisu, since the menu stated it won an award for it, and again… I was not disappointed. It was light, fluffy and rich in flavor. I had a great experience and will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Amazing value. The Campari umbrellas out front were a sign that I would love this place. Apparently there is free valet, I just parked in the back. I had lunch there and it was easy to be seated and greeted quickly, the menu is very pleasing everything that I saw come out of that kitchen was, as one patron put it, «On point, as usual.» I had the mozzarella caprezzi which came with the freshest tasting mozzarella I could possibly imagine. I also had the lasagna and it was perfectly balanced with meat & cheese. I can not wait to eat here again because it was just perfect, as I was eating I said to myself, «Now this is a 5 star restaurant.» The bar inside is also very inviting and elegant. And as you can see the rest of the reviews to this place put it on just as high of a pedestal as me.

The restaurant is located on a relatively non-descript part of Biscayne Blvd. The interior is simple and elegant. They just updated the bar which is now packed with various types of liquor. The wait staff and bar tenders are always pleasant and quick to please. Immediately upon sitting down, I was a black napkin as I was wearing black pants.(the white napkin can leave white fuzz apparently) The waiter brought over free bruscetta and bread & butter as well. I’ve eaten here multiple times. This time I ordered the Linguine Frutti de Mare(sp?) which was jam packed with clams, oysters, shrimp, scallops, salmon and a few other pieces I couldn’t identify. At 14.95, I was able to fill up and still have enough left over for a huge pasta dinner. Really an excellent value. In the past I’ve ordered the fresh fish salad, spaghetti, and chicken milanese. All excellent. Friends love the stuffed focaccia and fettucine alfredo. The restaurant is overall a very pleasant experience. Well priced for an upper scale italian restaurant, you get a very good meal for an even better price. Most dishes run 9.95 — 16.95 for lunch. Happy hours the wine is 2.50 and the liquor half off. But be ware, happy hour ends early at 6:30. Free valet parking is available as well.

The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese and was very satisfied. It’s big portion too which is ideal for sharing with someone else. The bread they serve while you are waiting for your food is superb as well. My only complaint is that we went to Luna Café on the recommendation of a fellow Unilocaler who said they offer lunch portions of their entrees, and she got a plate for $ 4. Well, we tried that and our waitress looked at us like we were from another planet. We saved ourselves the embrassment and just went ahead and got the normal priced plate. There is no special lunch menu though, just so you know. All in all, grrrrrreat food!

After my fourth great dinner in a row, I won’t hesitate to call Luna Café the perfect Italian dining experience. It’s like Macaroni Grill’s classier and, uh, better-tasting older brother. The pasta is delicious, albeit a bit on the oily side, and I feel as I don’t deserve the very decent prices they offer when considering how great I’m treated by the valet, waiter, busboy, and restaurant manager. What to expect at Luna Café: 1) Valet is free. The dudes that work the valet also apparently love their jobs, which is always nice to see. 2) Complimentary bruschetta appetizer. Delicious and a great alternative to regular pre-dinner bread. Oh wait, they gave us that as well. 3) Awesome tomato sauce and awesome cheese. The food here just seems to taste so much more organic than other Italian restaurants. 4) Last but not least, feel-good service. I always feel well taken care of and never at the point where I think I’m waiting too long. Lunch-tip: Come for lunch and order half-portions for half the price. I’m not entirely sure if they do this for dinner as well, but I’ve done it a few times during lunch and it works out quite well. An already large portion of angel hair pasta for $ 4? Yes, please.

I had 2 complete different experiences at Luna café. the first one was a year ago. The food was awful. First time in my life i couldn‘t eat. Not the appettizer nor the entrée. I risk it again last night. and i had very good experience, they broght us some bruschetta as appettizer, is was ok. I LOVE bruschetta this one was on the boring side. Then i ordered agnoloti with Creamy pesto sauce, it was perfection. My BF ordered Fettucine alfredo and he almost licked the plate so assume it was also really good. The service was excellent, the manager, waiter, busboys. They did an excellent job making us feeling at home.

I wish this place was better, it’s so close to my ‘hood and has such potential. Servers are rude, food is mediocre. Have tried the place four times and it’s never been a good experience. What’s up with this Luna, the talent that’s behind it is so experienced. Where are they and what are they doing???

My husband surprised me on Monday with a date request and we went to Luna Café. Dinner was delicious, the menu selection was varied but not too extensive; the service was excellent. I really enjoyed myself. We didn’t even need reservations and we got seated right away. The night was wonderful. The restaurant staff was a delight and everyone treated us like we were the only diners in the restaurant. I highly recommend it. Next in line, its sister restaurant — Carpacio.

As a caveat to this review, I work in the Wachovia building, where Luna Café is located, so I suppose I’m a little biased. But then again, I’ve been here several times, so that might give me a little edge over the other reviewers. The foccacia appetizer is outstanding. The grilled bread and the tomato mixture makes for an excellent meal or drinks precursor. They have an amazing pasta special(which really should just become a staple on the menu — it’s that good) of little pasta purses(live ravioli, but shaped differently) filled with a 3-cheese and pear mixture, that’s served in an awesome truffle cream sauce. It might sound super-rich, but it’s not all that heavy. And the portion is plenty large for a not-so-large price. Luna also does a great happy hour. My co-workers and I frequent it on Fridays. All the house wines are half-off, and there are also great deals on beer and their house liquors. The happy hour wine is only $ 2.50 a glass, and the wine is good — a deal that’s hard to pass up. They do a busy early-bird and pre-theatre/sporting event crowd because of the proximity to the Triple-A and the Carnival Center, but I’ve never seen them at full capacity.

this place i feel would be good for families to eat at. or at least i think my family would enjoy eating here. i usually do take out from here. it’s pretty decent italian food. nothing stellar though. i can’t really think of anything else to say. i think there’s a ton of other amazing restaurants in the area, but it’s an easy option when i don’t want to cook my own italian. and the prices aren’t astronomical, which is a plus.

The service was prompt and fast if you need to go to the theater or a sporting event afterwards. The Italian pasta and pizza were so so. I thought the pizza was more a bread with cheese on it than a classic pizza. The waiter also pushed us to order several pizzas in addition to the unlimited bread. I seem to have a hard time finding a favorite dish at these Luna South Florida restaurants. There is free parking in the garage next door.
