The food was not fresh??? The most important thing about a restaurant and if it’s rancid, old and tougher than chewing plastic what do you expect. I can’t ask much about the service but please, do something! Seems like the back of the house(cooks) are better at taking care of guests than the 2 girls in front. The menu sounded so good but I will never be back. The chicken was dry, the bar snacks expired last year, the desserts were old… so bad, they have a very convinient location but is a total waste. I wouldn’t recomend thus to anyone. Just walk 1 block more and you’ll have better and fresh food

I’ve eaten here 5 times for lunch. It’s such a great spot for a quick casual lunch. It’s inexpensive and consistently good. It’s run by the culinary school so the menu is always changing. I’ve never been disappointed and I make sure I eat here when I’m in Miami an nearby. Give it a shot… you won’t be disappointed. Also, go up the elevator and check out their kitchen theater.

How is it that no one as Unilocal has written a review about this great downtown spot? Tucked away on the first floor of the MDC Culinary Institute, it is opens early with offerings for breakfast and stays open through lunch, closing at two. This is the perfect spot to grab a gourmet meal without feeling like you’re paying gourmet prices. A little north of the McDonald’s, for the same price as a meal there, you can have a fresh turkey wrap with bacon jam! Yes, bacon jam! Sounds disgustingly intriguing, tastes amazing the way it is put together. Comes with a side of chips, add a soda and it is under a tenner. If healthy is your thing, then I would try one of the salads on offer. Recently I popped by and there was a southwestern salad with grilled chicken on offer that days. I felt gratuitously healthy that day, supping on a salad for lunch that was beautifully prepared and even more delicious than it looked. The salad dressing was the best combination of creamy and spicy and everything worked well together: the tortilla strips, the corn salsa, marinated grilled chicken and mexican cheeses. The feeling of being healthy even allowed me to indulge in what is the true gem of this place: the pastry case. It is amazing! I am a fan of the french maccarons which for under a dollar each and flavors that rotate every week, it is worth visting often for a little bit of sweet. But if maccarons are not your thing, don’t despair. There are so many treats to tempt: fruit tarts, brownies, strawberry shortcake, red velvet cupcakes, and more — all reasonably priced and each very decadently delectable.
