NPS = 8 Awesome idea! I love it. The execution needs some work but otherwise, it’s fantastic. The only reason I say the execution needs some work is because on the day I went, some of the presenters looked like nervous wrecks. And I don’t mean a little bit nervous… I mean squirming, shaking, and almost having a melt down on stage. You should have some public speaking skills if you’re going to present here. Their subject matter, I thought, was fantastic. I love learning about different things and the fact they spoke about black holes, string theory, and psychology really rocked my boat. But when these guys are up there standing like nervous wrecks… man, I needed another drink. Or maybe that was the purpose! To get people buying more drinks… Anyway… The subjects people present on always change so I’ll definitely be back. It’s extra special if you get there while happy hour is still going on and get the draft beers at Gramps for 50% off. I wish Nerd Nite screened presenters a little bit better just to make sure they can deliver a good presentation. Other than that, I see the potential for an AWESOME Thursday event happening every month.

I get here a bit after 7:00 p.m. running on Cuban time because I’m going to Wynwood and I want to be cool. Still, they aren’t set-up. No big deal, I’m cool. I stood and waited for them to start. This is exactly the way it is described in the description of the event. A whole bunch of people sitting down, some standing, someone on stage giving the lecture. Only problem is, too many people for the space. Many people, including myself, had no choice but to stand outside by the door. Yeah, they seriously need a larger space to accommodate all these people if they are going to continue doing this. It was«cool» though. A whole bunch of people here to listen to a lecture with Powerpoint about something nobody really gives a damn about in reality. Welcome to Wynwood, or, as I like to call it, Hipster Heaven. Not all the attendees were Hipsters, though. This was something to do in the new trendy spot in Miami. Will I attend #NerdNiteMiami again? I don’t know. I’m too old for this new Hipster«trendy» shit. Gramps, the place where this took place, is very cool. I will review Gramps separately.
