Great place. Amazing wines selection. The owner super nice. It is one of the few places in Miami that has Tequila«Riazul»(best tequila ever)

My favorite place to get wine. The owner is very friendly, and when you ask for his recommendation(s), he never disappoints. Tell him what country you want it from, and he’ll grab something you’ll be sure to love right away… tell him your price range, and he’ll be sure to select something elegant for you even if you’re on the cheap. The selection, service and prices: this place can’t be beat. They also have a fair amount of liquors and craft beers. Although there is meter parking, look for Old Vine’s sign so you can park in their lot for free. More good things are to come after the holidays :)

I’m so happy I stopped in to get a quick gift of whiskey for a friend. This is the kind of place where you get genuine personalized service from the actual owner. He’s very friendly & never seemed like he was trying to get me to spend the most money, but rather just wanted me to get a nice bottle that fit what I was looking for. I think I found my new shop for wine & spirits & I’m happy that I’m supporting a local small business.

Outstanding wine selection in every price range. Alex Andavert is one of the most knowledgeable wine advisors you’ll ever meet. His Friday evening tasting events with master sommelier Bernard(Frenchie) are not to be missed. Also check out the selection of single-malts and other spirits. You will LOVE this place!

Great wine and liquor selection with an owner ready to wait on you hand and foot. Go here if you need anything.(And the microbrew selection is nothing to be overlooked).

Those of you that know me, know how much I heart a good bottle of vino. OVWS — is owned by a Spaniard named Alejandro! He is a wine connoisseur and has excellent eclectic taste. All the bottles he has ever recommended have been nothing short of marvelous! Another brilliant asset, not only will he recommend a fab bottle but he will also tell you what to pair it with if you are having dinner. As if that wasn’t enough — he will also recommend wine in whatever price range your pocket can afford, so a great place to get a bottle as a gift, he’ll rap it for you too! But wait there is more — every Friday he does a wine tasting thats free(if you buy a bottle otherwise its $ 15) and every so often he does wine seminars in a back room so you can learn all about the world of wine!

You know that place that you go to all the time? You know that neighborhood hangout where everyone greets each other with a hug and a smile? Where you go on a Friday night after a long week to unwind? Never thought it would be a liquor store, huh? Well, it is!!! We live around the corner from Old Vines and we go at least twice a week. Every Friday night, they have wine tastings. Always a variety of price points, most very affordable. Frenchie, the guy who runs the tastings, is very friendly and hilarious! He’s also very very knowledgable about wine — he also runs their wine seminars, where you learn how to be an educated wine snob! And there’s a familiar group who goes regularly. When we don’t go for a week or two, we get asked where we were! It’s a relaxing way to end the week!!! On Saturdays, they’re just starting beer tasting. Should be very good! We’re beer snobs, and they have an amazing beer collection! Mostly European, some American microbrews. Alex the owner has become a friend and a trusted advisor. Even as people who would shudder at a served bottled of Yellowtail at dinner, and who insist on picking out an oak-aged California or French Chardonnay, we trust Alex’s suggestions implicitly. We just walk in, tell him what we’re cooking for dinner, and he’ll hand us a bottle(always under $ 15 since Alex knows our price point) and it is consistently incredible. Go. Really. If you want to grab a $ 5 bottle quick, go to Publix. If you want good wine without blowing your budget, incredible customer service, and a true neighborhood feel, go visit Alex. Never would have thought that I’d refer to a liquor store as «mine», but this place is like Cheers, and Old Vines is definitely one of «my places» in Miami!

Excellent selection of wines, especially from Spain. Very friendly owner, great Friday tastings. They offer wine classes and have a huge room adjacent to the store which they rent for private parties and tastings. This has become my favorite wine store and I am lucky to have discovered it here on Unilocal. If you are a wine lover, you have to stop by this store.

I’ve been trekking to Crowns in So. Miami for many years and almost felt guilty walking into Old Vines Wine. I was pleasantly surprised to find Alex the shop owner(ex-employee at Crown’s) there. Alex is extremely knowledgeable about wine, especially those from his Spanish land, and he offers great wines at every price point. I will say that he needs to expand his selections a little more. I’d love to see more California Cabernets on the shelves, but I realize that he’s just getting started! I’ll keep walking over to my neighborhood wine shop, that’s for sure!

Old Vines is the best. Alex selects his wines with thougt and care and is equally comfortable selling you a $ 100 bottle or an $ 8 one. So much better than going to Publix and guessing — having someone who is cool, thoughtful about wine and not snobbish Also very fairly priced. They have some nifty specialty foods and liquor to boot.

Dear Old Vines, I continue to love you! The BF and I were in the neighborhood recently, the day we bought our bikes. Being that you were right across the street, I knew we had to stop in and give a gander… So glad we did!!! Ale totally hooked us up again with another fantastic bottle of wine at a great price. He seems to know how to pick a wine based on tastes. I informed him we were looking for something with a bit more body and flavor. This time he chose a Malbec(for the life of me I can’t remember which, but I think it was only $ 16). We also picked up our fave Pinot Noir from the previous visit. Coming here is always a learning treat and pleasure. :) I love to get a quick lesson on the wine he’s chosen for us, as well as expand my knowledge on wines in the process. Thank you Ale, for your amazing service and hospitality as always. :) Best Regards, SabrinaAnna*

I love this place! And its proprietor, Alex, is just my favorite wine seller ever. He’s from Barcelona(my favorite city) and he brings continental grace and product to his store, which he runs almost entirely(or entirely?). He also has California wines but his focus is on European wines. Basically, this is just a little wine and spirits shop and Alex’s specialty is finding good values in wine — and that he does very well indeed. He also does a very good job of being wonderfully pleasant and helpful. He has a very interesting collection of international ales and beers too. He even has a brilliant plan for a deli counter of fine meats and cheeses(and I know that they will indeed be fine). Go and enjoy …
