I’ve brunched here on numerous occasions and have always had a good time. Not to mention that those good times were completely sober so it’s defiantly not my fuzzy memory writing this review. I know that OTC is listed as closed right now but I can’t wait for them to re-open in the same space! The menu is going to be completely different and the name will be «Golden Fig» based off of what I have been told. Needless to say, when their doors open again, I’ll be sure to be one of the first in line.

I have only gone here for the Brunch but let me tell you, I always have a great time! The staff is very friendly and food brought out in a timely manner. I always get their unlimited Mimosas and let’s just say that my cup runneth over. Waitress is always on top of keeping our glasses filled and a full carafe on the table. I usually always get the same food because«if it ain’t broken» I’m not going to try to fix it. It’s pretty standard, bacon, sausage, toast, potatoes, and eggs sunny side up. Can’t go wrong.

Wanted to try this place but when we went there it was closed and looked totally empty. Guess they’ve moved on to a better place?

We read about this place in Huffington Post as being one of the top 15 brunch places in Miami. We were really excited going in, thinking we’d be getting special, but ended up being extremely underwhelmed. We got the chilaquiles to start, and it was probably the best thing on the menu. Quite flavorful. My boyfriend then got the Mexican breakfast sandwich, which was alright but extremely dry and needed to be served with some salsa or something. The eggs Benedict were mediocre and lacked flavor. The service was also not so great. We had to constantly ask our server for more water, and he was pretty slow. I don’t think I’d go back to this place.

Decent place for brunch! Huge pros: the service is phenomenal! Note: Although they are nice, my waiter did charge me for the complimentary truffle fries you get when you check in on Unilocal at this restaurant, so make sure that your receipt is correct when they give it to you, although, everyone is entitled to human error. For brunch, I got the Korean waffles. It is only«okay» at best because the chicken was a bit soggy, not crisp at all. The portions were a good size, but the quality of the dish was quite lackluster.

Great place to enjoy brunch on a nice sunny day. The outside seating area is very nice. The few times I have been there it’s very crowded, so you might have to wait for a table. The food is really good and they offer a large selection of craft beers. The only complaint I have about this place is the service. Everytime I have gone it has been subpar.

I really do love this place. I just wish they would have some seasonal adds to the menu to keep it fresh. Something new. The steak frite wrap is amazing. So are the chilaquiles for brunch and Thai chicken wings. Beers on tap on point as well! Also. They make everything in house so that’s a big plus. Add some seasonal new stuff guys and I’ll change the review to 5 stars! ;)

Love this place, great food, great drinks, amazing beers selection and friendly staff. Went for a later dinner and a drink Friday night and had a great time. The crowd was friendly and fun offering food suggestions and places to go later in the night. This place takes a simple concept and does it really really well. Good value for the money too.

I’ve been to OTC about 4 – 5 times now… and… the burgers are the bomb! They keep me coming back. As great as the burgers are, I’ve only eaten them on $ 5 burger on the first Friday’s of the month. The burgers never really seem to fill me up. Yes, I do have a bottomless pit for a stomach buuttt… Can’t help but wonder if the portions on this day are smaller than on other days? At $ 5 the value of the burgers are ridiculous, but the prices for the burgers on normal days are definitely not cheap, especially for the rather small size of the burgers. Overall though, this is definitely a place that I will continue to visit. Personally, I feel that it has a homey atmosphere to it. At night they have old school hip hop, which gives it a very unique vibe, which I like. It’s not ghetto or super loud, but it adds a nice touch. Foods I’ve tried: –Mac n cheese(with cauliflower) — This is the one item on their menu I disliked. It was not cheesy at all. In fact, it had a very faint hint of cheese, which did not remind me of mac and cheese at all. You could really taste the cauliflower… I just did not enjoy this dish, I wouldn’t recommend it. –Pulled pork grilled cheese– I was pleased with this sandwich. It was more of a pulled pork sandwich with cheese than a grilled cheese, but it was very tasty and satiating. A very nice portion of pulled pork. The sandwich was thick, hefty, and heavy. –Truffle steak frite wrap– This wrap was also really good. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was juicy and tender. The onions and truffle mayo complemented the steak so well. –OTC burger/Green chili burger/Truffle monster burger– Burgers are the backbone of their menu. They make some great burgers. I’ve been basically rotating between these three burgers. They’re awesome! –Truffle fries/OTC loaded fries/Poutine fries– These fries all taste great. I also rotate between them when I visit OTC. — Something bourbon??? ice cream sandwich– The flavors are unique. I really enjoyed this dessert. The sandwiches are VERYTHICKANDDENSE. Rather hard to bite into… but personally, I enjoy that quality because it forces me to slow down and take bites of the ice cream sandwich. I get a chance to actually chew it and really taste what i’m eating, as I have a tendency to swallow my food when i’m hungry… –Peanut butter ice cream sandwich– Very peanut buttery, can’t really go wrong with this one. –chocolate mousse– My GF ordered this dessert… This dessert is the most expensive and the least appetizing of the desserts. Both of the ice cream sandwiches that they serve are really solid, but this one I could definitely do without. It’s small, it’s mousse, it’s just so w.e. and I think the price at $ 7 or $ 7.50 for such a small portion… this dessert was not worth that value to me. TIP: $ 5 beers & burgers every first Friday of the month. The burgers come with a regular order of fries. You can up charge for a couple of dollars if you want some of their specialty fries(which I always do because they’re that good). Best value on food you can ask for. I’m eager to try some of their other menu items like the Korean chicken and waffles and have been meaning to stop by for brunch one weekend. If only I can get passed those burgers!

I seriously fell in LOVE with this place. My friend and I were down in Miami celebrating her birthday and the night before we had a HORRIBLE time at American Social(do not go there). We were so ready to get some great food and read about OTC on here. We walked from our hotel and to our surprise there was 0 wait time for brunch. The atmosphere and employees were wonderful. Our table was great and right off the bat I was so happy to be there. The food was outstanding and a serious breath of fresh air after our horrible dinner in another restaurant the night before. We went through 3 carafes of mimosas and all our food was SOGOOD. The chicken and waffles, Mexican egg sandwich and the poutine fries were so on point. I WILL for sure travel back to Miami to eat here.

I came to OTC(Over The Counter) for Sunday brunch with friends and had a great time. We arrived at 12:30pm and had to wait a little to sit«inside» I tried the truffle fries –free with your Unilocal check in– and they were a bit saggy. The eggplant dip was quite delicious and the Mexican egg sandwich featured an amazing bun! The bottomless mimosas are $ 20/person — $ 5 more than next door — but pretty good if you wanna get a buzz. I really liked the service: our waitress wasn’t overbearing and did not mind us having us there for rounds and rounds(and rounds) of mimosas. My only complain about eating inside is that they need a better ventilation system. I will definitely be back.

OTC Was a lot of fun on Sunday. We met our friends for brunch and had the bottomless Mimosas. Ambiance It was nice. We ended up inside as the wait for outside was too long and we were hungry. The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. Food I had the Thai Chicken Wings, Eggplant Dip and the free truffle fries I got for checking in. The chicken wings were average/decent. The truffle fries were pretty good. The eggplant dip was amazing and will be the thing I go back for. Service Our server was really sweet and friendly. She even dealt with our ridiculous photo taking and photo bombed us. We left after one to many pitchers of mimosa but we were walking home ;)

The best part of brunch at OTC is the free mimosa with a coupon(pro-tip: they’re on every copy of the take-out menu). Also, don’t forget your free order of truffle fries if you check-in on Unilocal. In my opinion, the Korean chicken and waffles is the one dish that you get the most bang for your buck. It’s $ 18 but the portion sizes for the carrot slaw, chicken, and waffles is definitely enough to share with another person. Korean-fried chicken is always crispier than its Southern-style kin, and OTC’s Korean chicken is decent but wasn’t anything out of this world. On the other hand, I would recommend staying away from the OTC benedict and the french toast sticks. For $ 13, I expect more than one slice of toast on my plate, and the french toast sticks should really be garnished with something other than canned strawberries that is slowly losing its pink color. Perhaps OTC is better known for its drinks than its brunch. I’d go elsewhere on a beautiful Sunday morning.

As an update, I am really digging the new menu. The tuna poke is the closest thing I’ve had to hawaii in quite some time and the chicken wings just keel getting better. Happy to be the first to review OTC. Being from New York, Miami was missing a good, wholesome american comfort food spot. Let me start with the food we had: La frieda beef sliders, oh how I heart you. The meat is flown in from new York so you won’t find a higher quality slider in town and at $ 12, it’s a bargin for 3 nice sized delicious buns. Also a great touch with the fried bacon slice on the side…(have to do that at home one day) Tuna Sliders: Perfectly seared and great 2 options of dipping sauces(eel and wasabi) Could eat a bowl of this tuna. Burrata: my fiancé Basically ate all of this before I could even have a taste, so I’m trusting it was Awsome.(from her expressions, it was) Chicken parm Grilled cheese: If you go for one thing, this is it. The chicken is lightly fried and the tomato confit with mozz is a great pairing. Also, I tasted butter on the grilled marble white bread, which made it feel like mom’s back in the day. Beers: They have delirum on tap… which is pretty awesome, havent had that on tap since I was in brussels a few months ago. Others to highlight: Shipyard pumpkin, great fall beer Monk in the trunk Amber, great amber beer, paired well with the burgers Left hand milk stout, a fav of mine for an end of meal«dessert» beer Soundtrack: mix of vampire weekend, Capital cities, atl rock gems… homely feel with the football game on in the back. All in all, will be a regular here even if it is just a to go sandwhich or some mac and cheese… Great food and service and décor…

I had this place on bookmark for a while, so when they had an anniversary celebration, it sounds like a good time to visit. They offered several burgers for $ 5 each. The Pork Belly Hawaiian burger itself was delicious enough, the beef pattie nicely charred on the outside and juicy inside. But the fries: they were COLD. Old, stale, hard and cold. When I brought it up to the waiter’s attention, he did bring some fresh ones soon enough, but fries like that shouldn’t even have came out of the kitchen. I do like their beer selection, the time I visited they had Funky Buddha’s Sweet Potato Casserole, Wynwood’s Arroz con Leche, among others. However, the cold fries was plain unacceptable, so between«a-ok» and«I’m a fan», ok it is.

Two of my favorite words: Unlimited Mimosas! Sunday brunch at OTC was great. Yea there was a wait but order the unlimited mimosas at the bar, score a stool and kick back and relax! Other major bonus the FREE Thai chicken wings when you check in on Unilocal!:)

It’s been several months since I’ve been to OTC because I disliked their brunch so much the first time around. I decided to give them another try today but for happy hour instead! They have a great happy hour menu as most their beers are $ 2 off and their menu items are $ 5 each. Their happy hour runs Monday through Friday 4−8pm! At $ 5 an app, I was expecting very tiny portions. But the portion size is perfect and I was extremely happy with the quality of food! I tried the frito pie which had melted cheese, avocados and pulled chicken on top of a bed of Fritos. Yum! I also had their Thai style chicken wings which comes with a small side of Asian style slaw/salad. Awesome! And lastly, I tried the beer battered fish and chips made with their craft beer and comes with a curry tartar sauce on the side! Fantastic! All of the apps really were great! Service was friendly and attentive! I think I have just added OTC to my list of favorite happy hour spots!

July 27, 2014 was a very special day for my husband and I; it was our one year wedding anniversary. So what did we want to do on our special day? We wanted to eat like Roman gods, and we wanted to do this at a brunch spot we’d never been to. I’ve been to the OTC before, but never for brunch. I’d read the mixed reviews written by what seems to be people happy with and not so happy with the OTC’s recent evolution in their choices of cuisine, but I decided to do what real Unilocal Elites do; go try it out for my dang self and put the adjudication process in my own hands. We started our brunch experience off with mimosas and two shareables: the tuna poke and the chilaquiles. My husband is a huge fan of the tuna poke, but since I don’t eat seafood, I fortunately had the chilaquiles to myself. This dish is literally a fiesta on your tastebuds: sour cream, corn chips, avocado, ranchero sauce, perfectly seasoned chicken, cheese, and to add a touch of morning, an egg sunnyside up. I have to be frank about this dish; anyone who does not like this decadent brunch marvel needs to slap themselves. I can’t emphasize that enough. Period. In my Jebidiah Atkinson voice: Next! Now I was ready for what my stomach really wanted: a burger. What better than to order the green chili cheeseburger and fries? I ordered it medium-well and it came out just like that. I was a bit impressed, as many restaurants can’t seem to perfect this. I can count on three hands how many times my husband has had to send his red meat dishes back for cooking corrections. Not today. It was our lucky day. The bacon was cooked to perfection, and the green chili sauce upgraded this bacon cheddar burger like Beyonce upgraded Jay Z. Lucky for me I couldn’t finish the entire burger, so guess what I had for lunch at work the next day? :) Let’s just say my Monday became so much better at lunchtime. Hubby decided to have the quinoa hash and the OTC Bendict. Like a good wifey, I also at off of his plate, and like a good hubby, he let me. The sun-dried tomato hollandaise on the OTC Benedict… I couldn’t get enough of it(I need to find out where I can get a jar of that). The brioche toast was a little sweet, and blended perfectly with the sauce. My husband and I agreed that the pork belly was on point as well, and couldn’t figure out why anyone would leave a bad review on it. I’m glad we tried it for ourselves. The quinoa hash was top caliber as well; not the grits and hash you may be used to at Cracker Barrel or in your Quaker Oats box at home. My personal favorite part of this dish was the avocado salsa. At this point the mimosas turned into Rose. Like I said, it was our wedding anniversary, and we had already gotten use to all-you-can drink from our all-inclusive Bahamian getaway the week before, so why stop now that the actual day arrived? Let’s keep going. Alas, the final course: dessert. Yes I said it. Dessert after brunch. Better to eat sweets during the day than at night anyway :) I’m a doughnut girl, so we had the strawberry milk and doughnuts. The doughnuts were beignets(yay for me! I love beignets!) and they were filled with chocalate ganache and dulce de leche. Like real beignets should, they were topped with powdered sugar. We ate them to the last drop of powder. The actual dough of the beignet was not sweet, and this allowed the chocolate and dulce de leche fillings to do their sweet thing. Whoever’s idea it was to serve them with strawberry milk is a culinary genius. Bottom line folks, OTC is the bomb diggity for brunch. The service was beyond reproach despite the Sunday brunch rush. It’s obvious that the service crew works very hard to give their visitors perfection. I can’t wait to return.

This place has a great location but it’s pretty small and still very popular especially for Sunday Brunch. They are pricey but it’s expected, this is a popular«must go» Miami destination. They have a small menu but the food is delicious and if you’re lucky to get outdoor seating it can be a very nice experience! Pro Tip: Come on a weekday and beat the Sunday brunch crowd & the parking nightmare!

Came here for their Wynwood Tap Takeover for a couple of beers with friends. I ordered the ‘Apple of my Eye’ IPA and I took two sips… it was awful and bitter, it tasted as if it had a shot of vodka in it or something. I told our server, Eric, who is extremely knowledgeable about their menu and an awesome server, if he could please exchange my beer for the ‘Arroz con leche’ beer. And, he did! Great! The Arroz con leche beer was tasty with a hint of cinnamon in the aftertaste. I liked this one better! We ordered the pigs in a blanket & their thai chili wings– both items were delicious! I would definitely go back to OTC for happy hour, and Ive heard great things about their brunch so I see an update review in my near future.
