Dude, what the??? This place literally has an infestation. Yes, you heard me. It is crawling with those little carb-loving bugs called weevils that look like you shrunk a roach. I hate bugs, I hate roaches specifically. But personal preference aside — no food service place should have this problem. Let me backtrack… I came to Presidente because I heard the meat prices are better than other chain grocery stores in the area. So hey, figured I’d try it out. The place is a little less friendly than other supermarkets, and some of the produce was clearly old and bruised, but I figured that wasn’t really impacting me. I grabbed some spices, the meat I was after, and a few boxes of pasta that was on BOGO. I noticed that the brands of pasta that Publix carries(Rotelli, etc) are actually marked up to make their value brand look cheaper, a downright bizarre practice. So I check out, get home, and I’m pulling the bags out of my car. I notice one weevil crawling out of the bag. Flick it off. Go up the stairs. Two more are on my hands. What the… Grossed out, I put the bags down and wash my hands. I put one box of pasta away in my cupboard without thinking, and open another bag. It is SWARMINGWITHTHEM. This looked like the damn PLAGUE had been sent onto my house, ladies and gents. Horrified, I open the cupboard that I just put a box of pasta into, and they have started to come out of a pasta box and into the cupboard too. The spices and pasta(from separate aisles, in separate bags) were all INFESTED. This was NOT one bug. «What did the manager do when you obviously returned it?» you ask. Well when I say I don’t like bugs, I mean I don’t like them enough to just lose the money and throw all of this shit directly into my trash can, spray the ever-living crap out of it with Raid, take it outside, and never think of it again. Unfortunately I wasn’t willing to load it into my car and try to see what the manager would do for me as far as a refund or explanation. But an infestation like this doesn’t happen overnight. This takes serious neglect. This takes basically NEVER looking at what you’ve got going on in your store. This takes no Truly Nolen contract. If you must shop there, stay away from any dried grains, carbs, spices, or anything with sugar. They outnumber us.
