Horrible. I got my hair extensions done here and I’m not satisfied ATALL, they are falling out and the salon refuses to refund me any money. $ 1,500 for crap hair extensions! Now I have to pay someone else to fix the inexperienced work done on my hair.

I went to Rapunzel at the end of February to get my first ever set of extensions. I chose this salon due to their website, but when I got there, the place way dirty and run-down. The philosophy says«No Boys Allowed» but there were more men in the salon than women when I was there(they were not employees, but guests of the employee there at the time). My stylist asked me what I wanted and did not give me a consult, even though it was my first time. She sold me the most expensive product with no regard for my hair type(3 bundles of Hair Dreams for $ 1,271, including labor). The stylist is supposed to use her knowledge to get the customer the best product for their hair… She put keratin fusion extensions on my thinning hair! Afterward, the stylist did not give me care instructions, verbal or written. The next two days, hundreds of my hairs were being ripped out and I had to have the extensions removed for another $ 215(at another salon, no way was I going back there). On top of that, they made me feel like a total science project, as all the other stylists and their friends who were having dinner in the salon came over to gawk at me. I would advise no one to go there until they get their act together or hire some stylists who actually give a damn about what’s best for their clients.

I wanted to love this place since it’s close to where I live. I had highlights done and was a bit taken aback by the price, $ 250, it wasn’t even full highlights, it was ok not worth the price though. Also, the colorist did not fully blow-dry my hair, she was in a hurry to meet her boyfriend and I went home with wet hair. Needless to say, I will not be coming back.

OMG, this salon is like no other. Only women are allowed and it is like dr. ruth meets dr. phill meets the vagina monologues! Everyone is so open to talk about anything female related, and it was just lots of fun and unwinding. I def makes ur appointment go by faster and u really dont even want to leave. I got my hair colored, cut and blow dry, But they do all types of extensions(which i was surprised to see a lady from Kansas who flew in for Cy the owner to help her with her short bob. She was almost done when I was paying and I have to say WOW. She had long hair and was in tears from joy. After being there I have told all my girlfriends they gotta go check it out, its a salon/comedy show! I really got to relax and had my share of laughs.

I’ve tried many many hair salons and stylists in the eight years I’ve lived in Miami, and Rapunzel gave me the best salon experience ever. A friend of mine referred me because she had the best hair cut and blow-out and her raving email piqued my curiousity. This place is for ladies only. The salon specializes in hair extensions and ladies with hair issues. So seeing as some of these customers may feel uncomfortable around men without their hair on, the salon has a «ladies only» policy. This means that you cannot avoid feeling like DIVA while you’re here. From the moment you walk in you are inundated with a fabulous glamorous«girly» feel with pink and gold stars everywhere. Upon arrival, I was given a tour where I was shown the cute little pink fridge containing beverages, the outdoor patio filled with little tables and chairs for«relaxing.» The bathroom was adorable and included markers next to the sink so you can write on the wall. With a cut and color, I knew I would be there for awhile so I eyed(and ate) the bags of chips and candy lined up next to the pink fridge. This salon has a lot of personality so it is no surprise that it has appeared on a realty tv show(Split Ends) and the owner is apparently in talks to do her own show. Each stylist has their own specialty. I had my hair cut by one person and my color by another. They were professional and paid close attention to my neurotic rambling about my difficult hair. I appreciate they were accostumed to «high maintenance» clients and told me not apologize for being one! I’m pleased with the results and definitely plan to return. The place is pricey($ 90 for cut & $ 120 for partial highlights) and each stylist has their own pricing, so if that concerns you, you should be sure to ask first. You cannot miss this salon on Biscayne Boulevard across the street from Dogma. The entire building is bright pink and they have their own parking lot with PLENTY of parking. This is definitely a place that will help you unleash your inner diva. I’m reserving the final star to see if my cut and color stand the test of time…
