I never thought I would be writing a review of a beauty salon. I never really knew I needed one. But this week, when my hot date for Saturday night suggested I get a manicure for our big night… well, what’s a guy supposed to do? The location of this place is very convenient, a couple doors North of Jimmy’s Eastside Diner on 72 and Biscayne. The bad thing is they don’t have a street sign, so it can be tough to find– Mirror, Mirror shares a space with Touch Boutique, so look for that signage. Parking is easy, with meters on 73rd, or if you are a penny-pincher like me, park at Jimmy’s and you should be O.K. I was a little apprehensive, having NEVER had my nails done in my life. But Ingrid, the cute manicurist(nail tech? I’m a guy), and Myrnelle(spelling? sorry!), the hair stylist made me feel welcome right from the start. This is a studio, not a huge salon, so it just seems like you are getting very personal attention. The space is charming, with peaceful colors, comfortable chairs, and everything is immaculately clean. I am just going to say this out loud so I can laugh harder at myself– I went with the mani/pedi. The price seemed very reasonable. The whole thing took maybe an hour. I have to tell the guys out there, if you haven’t done this, you don’t know what you are missing– it isn’t awful to hang out with a couple gorgeous women, massaging your hands and feet and making them look great. It’s been several days now and they still look and feel amazing. I didn’t get a haircut because, unfortunately, I’m totally bald… but I did see Myrnelle get to work with a customer who came in, and from what I could tell, she is pretty much a HAIRGENIUS. If you live in the area, and want to support a local business with a couple ladies who do a great job, for a fair price, give Mirror, Mirror a try! p. s. please don’t tell my guy friends about this

I had my hair done for the first time on Saturday and expected to go in for a normal trim and blow dry. I have pin straight hair, nothing special, however it always seems like I never get to leave a salon with that beautiful bounce until I got my hair done here. I was sooo pleased with my hair! She added body and bounce, something very hard to do to pin straight hair. I was sooo pleased, especially since I had our engagement photo shoot after. My hair came out so beautiful! Put it this way, I was so pleased with how my hair came out, I rather than purchasing select photos I purchased the entire CD! I finally after 4 years living in Miami, have found my hair stylist! Every girl needs two people for sure in their live’s…a great nail tech and a great hair stylist! I truly recommend this beauty studio, as it is exactly what it says… a Beauty Studio!
