I lovED their café con leche ONCEUPON a time. Lately, I feel like the employees have been stingy with the espresso, the actual café in the leche. So the last few times I’ve been back, I’ve had to actually taste the café in the store before I leave in case I feel like modifications should be made because if not, I would be paying $ 4 for a cup of milk and that is absolutely unacceptable considering what I’m here to buy. Should be a bit more mindful in the quality of the food and beverages. Always better to please the customer with a bit more than a half assed done food/beverage. Just my updated two cents.

When I need a mid afternoon coffee break I usually visit this Ricky Bakery Location. Why you may ask? It’s conveniently located in the heart of the Shenandoah/Coral Gate Areas of Miami and the staff already know what I get so there’s no need to request what I need when walking in. The Cuban ladies that work here are fabulous. They’re super nice and provide excellent customer service. This bakery is extremely clean at all times. I love their Cuban coffee and enjoy the café con leche very much. There’s an available parking lot for the bakery and if you can’t find parking there then there’s plenty of off-street parking(metered parking — Miami Parking Authority — Pay by Phone). The pastelitos and croquetas here are delicious. Most customers tend to purchase their empanadas but I’ve never tried them myself. Everyone has their favorite bakery in Miami but honestly give Ricky Bakery a chance and visit them if you’re in the area.

Best bakery in miami ! Best empanadas, deditos and croquettes ! I don’t care about the line or that some of their employees didn’t speak English is worth it !!! The breakfast is really good ! And dipping the tostada on coffee is a round trip to heaven !

I used to really like this place, however, over time the service has become absolutely horrible and now there are issues with the food as well. If it wasn’t bad enough that the personnel are outright rude as they are serving you, we ordered three tostadas to eat them there and when we bit into the first one, it had MOLD. That’s not all folks, the other two had mold as well… clearly visible green mold on the bread. When we showed them to the lady at the counter, she was like«ok fine, we’ll make you fresh ones with bread made today»; no surprise when she saw the mold and certainly no apology. This marked the last time I would go to Ricky bakery. I had put up with the bad service before because the food was worth a little abuse from the personnel, but I will not go to a place to be treated like crap and be served food with mold. No thanks.

Short of the slowness in service, and occasional lack of parking, this place is always on point. Great Cuban baked goods, OJ you can have squeezed-site, and colada. Adjacent to Just the Funny, so actors have come here for years. A neighborhood staple!

BEST café con leche in town! Love their pastelito con guava y queso too. I see what the other reviews mean by bad attitudes. I can see that in those ladies. But what do you expect from a Cuban store? They’re Cuban women after all and which Cuban woman don’t have an attitude? When you get to know them, they can be sweetest people! I’m not Cuban at all! I’m far away from being Cuban. I speak only enough to order my food there, but considering I grew up in Miami, and 2 of my best friends are Cuban, I consider myself half Cuban. Lol But anyways, their café con leche and pastelito is truly awesome!

Tried this place because Miami New Times voted it best empanada. Definitely underwhelmed by the meat empanada that was filled with picadillo. I don’t like my empanadas dry but this was way too mushy for empanada filling. The outside was getting soggy halfway through eating it and it was a mess. The croquetas were less than lukewarm and also underwhelming. The best thing was the guava cheese pastry but even that was lacking in filling and texture. Very hard pastry and the filling was side by side so there were bites that are only cheese or only guava. Won’t be going back but that’s more because I’m moving soon and this was on my bucket list.

Horrible and worst experience I’ve ever had in Miami. The lady attending me doesn’t care about the guest. Wants you In and out. «Next“is her mind set. I never write bad review. But I had to after today.

Well, my usual neighborhood go-to, Gilbert’s on 32nd Avenue, apparently shut down because of a fire they had months ago, so I had to find a replacement Cuban bakery for my visits back home. I immediately came to Ricky’s, because though I’d never had their pastelitos, I had eaten their spinach croquettes and they were the best I’d ever had(shhh…don’t tell my mom). Well now I know that their spinach croquettes are very flavorful, their cheese pastelitos are phenomenal, their Cuban toast is prepared properly(buttered to perfection and properly flattened — I don’t get this new Miami epidemic of not taking the time to properly flatten tostadas people. Come on!) and their café con leche is a perfect balance of milk and coffee and served piping hot(which my boyfriend couldn’t stop raving about-he’s very much about things being«temperature hot»). My boyfriend decided to order the beef empanada one day and I can also say that it’s the best I’ve ever had(after the ones my mom makes at home, of course): the picadillo filling was amazing and there was none of this ¾ empty shell, bland filling deal(which happens all to often when ordering empanadas) at Ricky’s…their empanadas were properly stuffed. Anyhow, I’m really happy to have this just a few blocks from home and can’t wait to come back to Miami and have breakfast at Ricky’s.

Wow, I love this place! The café con leche is the best(served nice and hot)…nothing like starting a day in Miami with it. I’m not a huge fan of croquettes, but the chicken croquettes here were phenomenal. Their beef empanada was also easily the best I have I have ever had. THANKYOURICKY! Please come open a Ricky Bakery on the LES!

We came late two nights ago and it was a great treat. Speaking Spanish is a plus. We ordered croquetas de jamón, pastelitos de guayaba, and pastelitos de guayaba con queso. They were all served warm. They didn’t have any señoritas but all of it was delicious. The reviews were right. Definitely ordered the pastelitos de guayaba con queso– the best! Will be back!

So, the food here is pretty darn good and is the only thing keeping me from ditching this place. This is one of those places where you wish so badly that the management would actually TRY to improve their customer service. You WANT this place to be great so badly, and the only thing that’d keeping it from being that way is their staff. So, if you are ordering something that needs to be prepared or heated, prepare to wait a long time. This has happened every time we go, but there was one particular day that it was exceptionally bad. My husband and I ordered 2 sandwiches and 1 empanadas. The sandwiches(pan con tortillas) took nearly 45 minutes to come out. It’s an egg sandwich for Christ sake. I had to get up a few times to remind them that we are still here because I felt like we’d been forgotten about. You pay before you eat, so they had our money already, otherwise I’d have walked out. But the best part was the empanada. It’s already made, just needs to be heated. We finished our 45-minute-wait sandwiches, and I kept looking behind the counter to sort of signal to them that they have customers waiting for something. Nothing. I got up, asked for it, the woman(same woman that gave us our 45 minutes egg sandwiches) said it’s coming. A while later, still nothing. I got up again and asked for them to just give it to me cold because we really just had to leave at that point. The woman that had been dealing with us the entire time with all our needs looks over to her co-workers and said«they haven’t given it to you yet?» All frustrated. No. They haven’t because it’s your responsibility. That woman looked so inconvenienced by us. The looks she gave us were enough to make me feel guilty for being there. Like… how dare we ask her to give us the food we paid for. I mean, really, it sucks going there to deal with that. It really does. You want to go and enjoy their food because it really is good food, but you leave in a bad mood because they just don’t seem to care about the customers. And it sucks because you want them to care, you want them to because you care enough about their food to keep going back. I’ll have to try the other location. I hope they see this and take a moment to consider upping their CS game.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Worst service I have ever received in my life! Look, I am not one to complain. I am a very understanding human being and I am forgiving. However, impolite and rude behavior is not something I can look past. My boss and I stopped by this place because she really wanted a cortadito and a pastry. It was on our way back to the office so I didn’t mind stopping. There were 4 other customers inside and 3 of them were sitting down to eat. We looked at the all the baked goods and finally walked up to the register. A nasty old woman attended to us and in an exasperated tone asked what we wanted. My boss, being the sweet, classy woman she is ignored her tone and ordered two cortaditos. This woman then asked«what else?» I could feel myself getting unnerved at this point but I kept calm. I asked her about a chocolate frosted cake and asked if it was all chocolate inside. The witch responded with«Of course! What else would it be made of?» Umm vanilla, strawberry, lemon, the possibilities are endless, you ignoramus! My boss interjected and said what I wanted to say minus the ignoramus part. Satan then responded with«Don’t you see the cake? It’s all chocolate.» I was seeing red at this point. I loudly commented to my boss how rude she was and that we should have gone to somewhere better, where they know how to treat a customer. Honestly, I’ve never felt so angry at an establishment. They need to fire this woman or put her in the back where she doesn’t have to deal with people. The other woman working wasn’t much better either. I heard her speaking to another customer just as rudely. If you work in the service industry and don’t like it, then quit. Don’t treat customers poorly because your life sucks. Oh, and the cortadito was terrible.

I went to Ricky’s bakery to pick up an order place by co-worker. The cashier yamilet was the rudest employee I’ve ever encounter at that place. My co-worker and I always order pastelitos every Saturday for our business so we can offer our customers. But this woman was soooo rude that I don’t know if we ever will order from this bakery. On another note if the bakery changed the rules as of who is has to pick up the order everyone’s needs to be on the same boat. I always pick up the order even thou I didn’t place the order. I always sign the credit card charge.

This used to be an excellent bakery back when it was just one location. After the expansion it seems to have gone downhill a bit. The baked goods aren’t as fresh and frankly aren’t as good anymore. The last meat pastelito I bought I had to throw out. The smell of rancid grease that emanates from the place sometimes doesn’t help.

This is one of the best bakeries in the area. Everytime, I go it’s pretty packed, but service is fast. They have nice ladies in her tending to you. Today, I picked up a few things. I got a breakfast platter #2. Came with scrambled eggs/ham/cheese(my pick of fries or toast), I grabbed french fries, & a small café con leche. They were all great. The fries were ok. Next I got a cuban bread it was pretty good. Croquettes were pretty good as well. I got Colombian chicken empanadas those were tasty! Yummy! I got a Tiramisu lastly. I have a huge sweet tooth. Unfortunately this was disappointing. Bland. Besides that this place keeps me coming back. There’s tons of bakeries in the area, but the service & freshness of this bakery is unlike any other. Come here if you are in the area looking for fast Cuban treats. Also they have a private parking lot. That’s definitely a plus in Miami.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. Terrible service. My wife and I went in looking to buy 1 tostada. The parking lot was full, so we left it in the lot by the entrance, and walked in to a woman behind the counter freaking out and yelling that we had to move the car. With no where else to park, I moved it somewhere out of sight so she would stop freaking out. After all, I wanted one tostada, I should have been in and out of there in less than 1.5 minutes considering there were two other customers in the store. After moving the car and re-entering the bakery, the woman behind the counter was too busy chatting it up with friends to attend to us. They even assisted a friend of theirs that came in after us, before us. After waiting ten minutes and not even being able to order the tostada we left.

Good pastelitos and coffee. Very friendly staff. Items here do tend to be ultra-sugary, so make sure you have a sweet tooth!

I found this business because I was at the hearing aid place next door and wanted a café con leche. I live in Hialeah where bakeries abound in every corner. First thing I noticed when I walked into this one however, was how large it was. It’s very impressive in size and with the amount of merchandise they sell. The place itself was extremely clean and organized. It was almost mid-day when I was there so, they had already run out of pasteles de guayaba y queso. There were plenty of other treats to choose from so I got something else to have with the café con leche. I mean, I could see the place getting PACKED during peak hours although not the case while I was there. There is a number issuing«thing» but, it appeared to be damaged. There was a steady flow of customers entering/exiting, hence, how I found-out what this business was. No complaints from me. I’ll definitely be back when next door again.

I think this bakery when it comes to the food as being one of the best on Miami. However, they need better management. Too many people working for the wait there is. It’s like all four women take care of one customer at a time. Please work on this! It use to be better but it’s only getting worse. Thank you!

I really enjoy their pastelitos but based on today’s breakfast I gotta give it this rating. The Cuban toast had way too much butter. Now I’m Cuban and I love bread so when something like too much butter messes it up I’m not a happy camper. It did keep me from eating the whole toast but I still didn’t need that many calories from butter alone. Café con leche was too dark even though it was ordered«clarito». I had to add sugar, which I don’t mind doing, but it was still too strong for my taste. I did enjoy the eggs and fries, pretty yummy with chopped ham and nicely melted cheese.

I live within a block of Versailles and La Carreta, yet choose to travel here for Cuban pastries and coffee. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also understand and speak English and Spanish, which is a plus because my Spanish is slacking. I love getting the«preparada» which is essentially a meat pastelito cut in half and then stuffed with a slice of ham and white cheese. They also make delicious guava and cream cheese pastries and great Cuban coffee and cortaditos. If you want croquetas, this may not be your spot.

I dub Ricky Bakery with the title of «Best Sugary Spot on Coral Way». The place is seriously that good– and visually appealing as well! When walking in, you are exposed to vibrant displays of sugary cakes and Cuban treats. The competition on what to get is tight because each treat satisfies your visual standards. It is hard to choose what to get! I ended up choosing a ham croquette, a cheesy Cuban pastry(not the sweet one), and something with chicken in it. The ham croquette could have been warmer and softer. The Cuban pastry and chicken pastry were both dry. The saving grace was the vanilla cake bar with sprinkles I got at the dessert section. The icing was sweet. The cake was soft and delicious. It was heaven in my mouth. In regards to the service, they definitely need more people working here because the place can get really packed in the mornings. It took my friend and I about 20 minutes to complete our orders because an overwhelming amount of people just flooded the place. They also need more people who speak English. Compared to other Cuban bakeries, there are a lot of seats and the interior is stylish, so you can sit down, enjoy your café con leche, and relax. The insides remind me of a French bakery. If you pay with card, it is a minimum of $ 10, so make sure you have cash if you want one or two things. Overall, a great bakery. The desserts definitely trump the selection of Cuban goods.
