Actually I’m taking it all back! A smiley bartender! Willing to engage with everyone! Nice! It’s been a while!

Love going to sand bar after beach tennis on the weekend. They have a great atmosphere with lots of games on the TV as a well as a pool table and digital jute box. My friends and I really enjoy the happy hour after tennis as we are famished after playing all day long. I like the happy hour free buffet and a Negra Modelo. They also have non alcoholic beer too if you are like my friend Aimee who doesn’t drink.

Under new management which takes away the entire reason we would go here! Higher prices for drinks, no! It’s a local dive bar for a reason… cheap drinks! Can’t go here anymore! Go bavk to the way you were Sandbar! Zero stars!

The true definition of a dive bar lol. I come here often and customer service is always great. Drinks are reasonable and the dj always plays good music. Highly recommended

Came to this spot to watch the game and have a cold beer. This place is pretty cool they have sand on the floor to give it that real beach vibe. The parking is a little difficult because you have to find parking on the side of the road and you have to pay by phone. This place has tables and they have a bar. We decided to sit on the table. They also have specials at a certain time like 2 for ones. They only thing that I did not like was they don’t have a food menu. They also give you the options of ordering something from other restaurants and they have it delivered to you and you can eat it there. The staff was cool and nice we were there for about an hour and decided to leave and head out to Lincoln Rd. I would definitely come back another time.

Clean sand, locals, and cheap drinks. Awesome! We made sure to stop by this place each night before going back to our hotel. It’s a bit out of the way, but totally worth it. The bartenders and local crowd were very friendly! Would definitely come back on our next trip. Also they have an awesome late night pizza place around the corner. Would definitely stop by before heading out for the night. As a New Yorker I can vouch for its authenticity.

Awesome local dive bar type place. Enjoyed my time there on NBA all star Sunday 2016. They provided free food which included delicious fried chicken, au gratin potatoes, seasoned corn & a great coleslaw and did I mention it was free?! I never waited long for a drink and the bartenders were very friendly! Love the fact it has a jukebox and pool /billiards table as well. I’ll definitely go back!

Bartenders were fantastic, remembered our drink orders and were so sweet. But then the bouncer hassled one of the members of our group. Tall, no hair and totally homophobic. Based on gender identity, this is very troubling considering how far this city has come. Completely unacceptable.

Super cool spot with what seemed to be a lot of locals. A lot different vibe than South Beach where everyone is from somewhere else.

This bar/“lounge’/beach was a very memorable part of my vacation. Spent hours here one evening with friends, singing old 90’s hits. Made a handful of new friend friends who came skinny dipping with us in the ocean.

I came here on a recent Thursday night at around 12:30 a.m. with a friend as we were looking for a unique bar, I’d known about this place which is more like an indoor beach party than a bar, and I thought he’d like it. Sandbar Lounge is a bit of a dive, has a 1 or 2 inch layer of beach sand all over the floor, and the seating around the bar is more like wooden old school beach seating and benches vs. bar stools. There are also 2 high lifeguard chairs that are wide enough to seat 2 people and let you overlook the entire lounge from that high vantage point. There’s a band stage, a jukebox which you can either load money into and select songs or play via a smartphone app, several TVs for watching sports, and they also have a few pool tables. Restrooms are clearly marked«Chicks» in pink neon lights, and«Dicks» in blue neon lights, so regardless of how intoxicated you are, you’ll always find the right facility to use! Many of the patrons seem to know the bar staff and each other, so this seems to be a neighborhood watering hole as well as a novelty for visitors and newbies to check out. Bartenders give decent pours, mixed drinks at regular price are $ 8.50 each.

Fast service at the counter and multiple screens to watch your favorite games. Chill atmosphere, starting from the fact that the floor is covered in sand. Check this place out, it’s a different take on your neighborly bar.

This place just happen to come up because the guy i was with was local to the area and we were looking for a beach vibe with central AC as its MADHOT in south Florida lately. Wish a hurricane would just come by already… LOL The vibe was super chill, drinks strong, customers and staff very friendly. One thing I didn’t like about this bar was that people could smoke inside. Being a non-smoker and having long hair, means the cigarette smell always lingers… but its chill and i would definitely be back if the opportunity arises. Not sure on price of drinks since I didn’t pay :)

wondered into Sandbar for a nightcap after leaving a South Beach club. Just what I needed. Friendly Staff, great drink prices and nonjudgmental patrons. The sand was a challenge in heels but Im still happy we stopped by.

Cool bar with sand on the ground. Nice and quick bartender. 2 pool tables. We went on a Wednesday night, it was free to use, I’m not sure it’s free every night. Jukebox so you can change the music for a dollar. I just left after a game of pool because it was very hard to breathe because of cigarette smoking. It would be better if they had opened the door or the front of the place up to let the smoke move out and not cloud the place up.

I dig the Sandbar Lounge and visit often, here’s why: * Free Happy Hour Buffet daily * Sand on the floor, kept clean and tidy * Friendly and hottie bartenders * Strong drinks with liberal pour * Hemingwayesque crowd * Popular late night with the hospitality set * DJ on the weekends Parking isn’t so easy some times. And they do not have food other than the happy hour offering so be advised. See you there, Cabeza OUT!

Sandbar is the perfect set up for an awesome neighborhood dive bar. The sand and lifeguard chairs, the music & dj at night, drink specials, and just general beachy chill feel. I love the free buffet they have in the afternoons. And it’s 2 for 1 drinks if you’re in the business. So what’s not to like? Well, this place is hit or miss for me because of the bartenders. The girl that’s usually there during weekday happy hour time is super friendly and chill. However, whenever I am there on the weekend nights, the bartenders have horrible attitudes. They are so condescending. The thin brunette with shoulder length wavy hair that is there on friday nights has tried to charge me for drinks that she saw a guy had ordered for me because she thought I was drunk and wouldn’t notice, and because she was mad that my friend gave a bad tip for HORRIBLESERVICE recently when I was there as well. I asked for a manager, but the bouncer(who is super nice, by the way) said there is no manager on duty on a friday night? What is that? They are both unfriendly and actually scheming, petty women. I will not return for nighttime drinks. I live 10 blocks away and the only other choices in the hood that I know of are Lou’s Beer Garden(chill and good drinks), On the Rocks(only been there once but it’s super cheap), or Bikini Bar(lol), but if I want sand, I’ll just drink on the beach rather than deal with diva attitudes. I’ll still go in the afternoon though. Manager should take a look around and just hire nice girls instead of bitter, mean people.

On any trip together, one of the first places my hubster and I seek out is a local, dive bar. After speaking to a few staff members at the hotel, we discovered many of them frequent the Sandbar Lounge after work. Score! Walked into the Sandbar about midnight on a Sunday and was so distracted by the huge bouncer who welcomed us in, it wasn’t until I felt the unexpected feeling of silkiness slip in-between my feet and flops. That is, the entire bar floor is befittingly covered with sand(and this joint is not on the beach; in a storefront strip). Okay… neato. It took a while to be greeted by a bartender and order drinks… and all of the apparent locals were not the friendliest… at first. Gradually after our first drink, people started chatting with us and the barkeeps kept ‘em coming. It’s as if we had to pass a test that we were not above staying for just one beverage; not scared away by the blaring music(heavy metal to calypso; every song a different genre), the rowdy«tipsy» people, or the fact that we were probably the only two beings there that didn’t know everyone else. We couldn’t have cared less. The dive-ier the better… and we’ve been to places WAY more rough and tough than this little off the beach retreat. ;) Overall: Good local fun crowd. Really heavy pour on the cocktails and a good selection of craft beers. Neat décor; very beachy from(literally) floor to ceiling, clean ladies room, pool tables, and a kickass digital jukebox. BUT… yes, it’s Miami Beach… BUT it’s supposed to be a local hang… and even though the cool kids eventually let us play, I guess that«tourist» tattoo across our foreheads must have never disappeared, because I have a very difficult time believing the service industry peeps that frequent the Sandbar Lounge pay $ 12.50 for a V&Soda or $ 8.75 for a brew — or maybe they do. It’s all about perspective and everybody knows the Beach ain’t cheap. Those are trendy clubs on Ocean Drive prices! Dive right in… to the quick sand. Just be prepared to have a credit card handy to pull you out. Wish I would’ve known about the 2-for-1 shots or early HH with free food they apparently offer — be sure to check that out. So torn between 3 and 4 stars. I’m settling for a 3.6. In any event, a must stop during your trip to Miami Beach. Very unique. Cheers! TIP: After getting back to the hotel my feet were still covered with sand and somehow were completely black on the bottom even though I never took my flip flops off. Not sure how often they change the sand, but I’m guessing not frequently. And, patrons seem to have no problem putting cigs out on the«floor» in the bar. Wash before passing out… erhum…I mean going to sleep.

This place is not cheap/affordable at all for it to have only one $. Went there last night and a Scotch its priced $ 14 and it’s not located in South Beach or a fancy neighborhood. It’s a fun hole in the wall, but pricey.

Great spot away from the craziness of SOBE. They have draft beer available with Happy Hour specials and daily free food for patrons. 2 large pool tables and large flat screen tv’s all over with a DJ on Fri and Sat… what’s not to like?!?(Well, some people may not be crazy about the actual sand on the floor, but HELLO. it’s called«Sandbar», lol).

This place is cool on so many levels: sandbar(literally) with soft sand around the bar; all types of people in the crowd, including locals and out-of-towners(even our cab driver was like«oh yeah, that’s my bar»); good music(though a tad too loud to even talk); and affordable drinks by Miami standards. Strange that they allow smoking indoors. The bathrooms have large bright neons signs that say«chicks» and«dicks» that always seems have a slow moving line and doesn’t look particularly inviting. Given it’s popularity, I wonder how they keep the sand clean?

This place is the bomb! Tucked away on the north end of South Beach you will find one of the coolest bars ever. You come in off of the hustle and bustle street and you instantly feel like you were transported to Key West. The first thing that grabbed my attention was the sand on the floor! Everywhere! Hence the name. Then of course is the décor! Th whimsical lifeguard chairs are way cool as are the bar stools and all of the cool pieces on the walls and ceiling. They also offered a nice buffet on the back patio which was a big surprise. I didn’t know the patio was there. They host private parties back there. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. We had Natalie and Cason. Awesome ladies. They certainly do their job well. When down in SOBE, this will be one of my hangouts.
