I haven’t actually taken classes at the School of the Warrior, but I’ve sat and observed many of them for a few projects I’ve done about the Grove. As I’ve pointed out about other Grove businesses, the school falls into that way of thinking about«buying low and selling high.» The West Grove is struggling to survive financially, so many of its owners have dropped the prices of their services but have actually INCREASED their quality. Classes are $ 15 each. Michael Olusczak, the school’s sensei, is an interesting character and a great instructor. He teaches kids and adults, men and women. The class sizes are relatively small(approximately 6 per session) so there’s plenty of individualized attention. There are a wide assortment of different classes for different people(i.e. yoga, stretching, or just straight up martial arts training). Olusczak, like a lot of other Grove business owners are just trying to survive. I’ve interviewed him and had conversations about how things are going on several occasions. The guy is straight-up. He’s going to do what it takes to impress you as a client — so if you’re looking to get into a martial arts experience that you can get the most out of, the School of the Warrior of Light may be a good choice.
