The guy taking orders on the phone is a freaking idiot — don’t waste your time trying to get delivery. He needs a hearing aid, and apparently when you joke that«wow $ 18 for a medium pizza, it better be good» at the end of your call, that means you’ve cancelled your order. So an hour and fifteen minutes later, I call back and ask where my pizza is — and the guy says«you said it was too expensive, we didn’t make your order, you cancelled.» I said«no, I didn’t cancel, I made a joke.» He didn’t seem to understand. So, you guys just lost a would-be customer bc I’m new to Miami and I like pizza delivery. And let’s be honest — $ 18 for a medium pizza is NOT the price level of a 1 dollar sign designation, Unilocal. You might wanna fix that.

1st of all the delivery took over an hour and half. Once I received the pizza all the cheese wasn’t on the dough it was on the top of the box not cool at all! but before i got super upset i decided to taste the pizza, one word to describe it, FLAVORLESS!!! My suggestion is to never eat here, don’t waste ur $ and/or calories on this pizza!

I like to go here on my «cheat» day. It would be a 5 star if it was not in a gas station… That said the pizza is amazing. Crave it all of the time :)

Place moved from Bird to Grand Ave(next to post office inside the Kwik Mart). Old location is closed but give the new one a look and support them.

It is close for business… this is a sad time for me. I have been coming here for years and now it is gone. If anyone knows if they are opening a new one, place let me know ASAP. The building looks as it was being demolished.

I’ve been looking for a while since I’ve moved to Miami, for a place that is fast, decently priced, and pleasing to the palate. I’ve found those in this neighborhood restaurant… though I use restaurant loosely. This place is not much more than a non-mobile taco stand-esque type of place. There is no seating, just a small counter to the side of the order window. But it doesn’t matter, because I come here about once a week, for something fast and delicious. Its PERFECT for a late night meal when you’d rather get punched in the face than eat McDonalds or Taco Bell. The pizza here is above average, though its not the best crust i’ve ever had(any one who says pizza isnt all about the crust, doesnt know pizza). The italian ice is freakin amazing as well… though I wasn’t everly ecstatic about the key lime pie(but I’m from phoenix, so what the heck do i know about key lime pie?). It might not be worth the trip to drive all the way out here from across town, but I’m so glad its in my neighborhood and if you live around here, do yourself a favor and come. Oh yeah, it open late on weekends too!

Does anyone know what is going on with Slice & Ice? I love this place. Pizza is awesome. It’s been closed for a couple of days and there’s no message or sign on door regarding why they have been closed for the past week.

Just as I remember it, this Coconut Grove institution remains the best pitstop pizza joint. There’s just something so exciting about pulling up in your car, walking over to the window and being handed fairly great NY style slice. As for the«Ice,» the traditional cherry Italian ice is probably the best dénouement to your mid-afternoon pizza party. There isn’t much in the way of a sitting area, and you’ll have better luck settling upon some cinder parking block. As for grab-n-go grub, this is tops.

By far the best pizza in Miami, trust me i’ve had plenty. Walk or drive up and order a pie. Its the Grove so leave your attitude at home and get some extra patience. Its worth the wait. Show your code 33 card to get 10%.

I would suggest hurrying to try Slice & Ice before the whole place burns down. I only say this because the lonteenager working the stand forgot about our warming slices in the oven for what felt like ten minutes. Awkwardly standing at the counter while waiting for our pizza he did not seem to notice that we had been there for a long time(not eating) after ordering from him. He was super sweet after we pointed out his mistake and quickly popped fresh replacement into the oven. Those were ready within minutes and we were enjoying pizza in the sunshine. I liked the pizza– from the white with basil and tomatoes to the plain cheese and pepperoni– I’d definiely say the crust was the best part. The italian ice was really good and refreshing. It would be nice if they had at least a bench or two in case you want to sit and enjoy it on the spot. But we did not mind standing at the counter to eat it fresh out of the oven(no matter how long it might have taken).

Sometimes you just need a slice. You can roll up to Coconut Grove’s Slice and Ice, jump out of the car, order a bite and be gone in a few minutes. They usually have about 6 choices ready to go, ranging from the simple cheese to the sauceless, mushroom, and the meat heavy with pepperoni, bacon, and sausage aka double the calories special. I do wish they should add a bench or maybe some stools out there in case you’re gonna chomp down on the spot.

Hovering around a 2.5. We order pretty regularly from this place, given its close proximity to our apartment, and I really feel like the quality has declined since we started frequenting. Like I said, we order pizza here a lot, and I LOVE garlic knots so that’s their main draw for me. But, a lot of the time they tell us they don’t have garlic knots(even though they’re on the regular menu??). Plus I swear they used to be better. They’re nice and doughy in texture, which I love, but lacking a bit in flavor. And the pizza… well, most of the time it’s pretty good, but not great. The other night we ordered from here out of convenience, and our pizza was WAYYY overcooked. I crunched my way through one piece and couldn’t go for another. We’ve had their pasta dishes, too, and they’re decent and pretty inexpensive. Service can be really spotty. I’ve had some great experiences with the staff there, and some not-so-great ones. I have to hope they’ll make some improvements, but, we will see… in the meantime, we re definitely on the hunt for another go-to local pizza place. Any suggestions?

So yesterday I heard the Latin Burger truck was in the Grove area and I hauled ass over there… low and behold… Latin Burger Truck was gone(FOILED!). I was hungry, and wanted something inexpensive… so off to Slice & Ice I went! I hadn’t been to Slice & Ice in over a year or more, but was happy to find that the NY style pizza was still as tasty as I remembered it. I ordered my slice of cheese, waited maybe 3 or 4 min, threw some extra Parmesan cheese on top, and then folded it up and munched away at it as happy as could be while standing at the counter and watching the Grove traffic pass by. My husband had never had slice & ice and I took him a slice of cheese with red pepper flakes and he said that it was as close to the real street corner NY deal that he’s had round these here parts since he moved down from NY/NJ about 15 years ago. He was happy, I was happy… we’ll be back. You can’t really go wrong here, after all.

3.5 stars. I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this place since I’ve been here three times at least. The pizzas are definitely good, and it’s quick to get especially since it’s not far from US1 so this pizza shop is a popular stop for clubbers going to/from downtown, the beaches, and the rest of Miami(points west and southwest). It gets points for convenience(it’s only a pizza window, actually — and that’s part of the allure). But for the Grove area, I liked New York Roma Pizza a bit better. It’s the crust.

This place has been around for a very long time(at least since 1997) and has solved many midnight hunger attack problems… I used to live in walking distance and stopped here quite a bit for a good, affordable snack. The slices are generous, 2 are plenty for a full meal. It is always fast and if they happen to be out of your favorite pizza, they will have it ready in a short time… I never actually tasted the ice cream part of it, so pizza it is. Still go back quite a bit for that craving of pizza on the go…

I’ve been going to Slice & Ice now for something like 15 years and although I used to love it, I’m not too fond of it anymore. I just went last night at 10:50PM to get a slice. They supposedly close at 11. I stood there at the window and a woman was inside staring at me like I was a crazy person for wanting a slice. She said, «No, I’m done, I’m going home.» I said, «I thought you close at 11.» She said, «Well, I’m going home!!» I said, «Oh okay, so you DO close at 11, you’re just a lazy person, right? Got it.» As I was walking away, I kid you not, 6 more people in 30 seconds tried to come to the window only to be turned away by this lazy person. I don’t respect a place that closes early simply because they feel like it, and would rather go home 10 minutes early than make an extra $ 50. As far as the pizza goes, it’s always been pretty good, but not amazing. Definitely not New York quality, here, but some of the better pizza you can get in Miami. The main draw of it was that it was good pizza, but you don’t have to go inside to sit down or anything. Even though the lines get long at times, the fact that it’s a stand creates the illusion of quickness when you could actually just stop in to any pizza joint in the Grove, get a slice, and leave in the same amount of time. In fact, New York Pizza in the Grove I think has better pizza, and they won’t close 10 minutes early. I’m going to end my long relationship with Slice and Ice because I don’t like to give my money to people who don’t want it anyway.

One of my Top 3 pizza joins in Miami. Don’t expect a restaurant, it’s not. You order at the order window and pick at the pick-up window simple as that. The pizza is excellent. I don’t know what it is or what they do but this pizza doesn’t taste like any other in the Miami area. I trully love this place; especially swinging by late at night and knowing that I can pick up a couple of delicious slices and a can of beer at the(BP) gas station right next door and have one of the best pizza & beer experiences ever… all right next to 27th Ave. watching all the cars and commotion of Coconut Grove going by. A lot of love for this place and the staff(they’ve worked there for years.)

I still LOVE this place. Did the late-night-drunk-munchie run a couple Saturday nights ago… STILLAMAZING!!! A group of 7 of us walked up to the counter and our pizza was all ready within 5 minutes. Gotta LOVE the service. I had the Cheese with tons of parm and garlic and pepper on it. LOVE! A bottle of water, your slice of pizza, a few napkins, and you’re as good as sobered up! ;-)

Slive & Ice is totally convenient and given my mantra that there is no such thing as bad pizza, it gets a couple stars for convenience and a couple for quality. I have had some awesome slices and some terrible ones. The yummyness factor may be directly proportionate to how much alcohol I’ve consumed in the past 24 hours. Perfect for a late night snack or a hang over. I ordered a pizza when I had ppl over and it wasn’t nearly as good as the slices and almost as expensive, go figure. The service is really good, the girls that work there are usually friendly and they take credit/debit with a $ 5.00 minimum.
