Fast service which is great when you’re trying to catch a flight had dinner in less than a hour with two Ramen’s, sushi roll and chicken appetizer. Ramen was meh it lacked in any flavor the noodles were a good texture. I would recommend pork over chicken. The sushi roll was nothing special. The chicken was good. Pricing was just right especially since everything is overpriced in the airport mind as well eat sushi if you have time to kill on a layover

I suppose most people don’t go out of their way to frequent airports in search of a dining experience. Neither do I. But, here we were in Miami International Airport with some time to kill before our flight back home and we ended up at Sushi Maki. My wife and I both ordered ramen. Along with the ramen we sampled the spring rolls and spicy tuna rolls. The ramen clearly lacked any flavor and the noodles were overcooked and stuck together. The spring rolls were very oily and not very tasty either. However, the spicy tuna rolls were rather decent. Service was efficient and our server was a bit abrupt, but minor detail. Not a spectacular dining experience and I’ll probably dine elsewhere next time I’m at the Miami airport.

I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it was bland held none of the rich flavor typically associated with ramen. My order was to go and they packaged the noodles in the same container as the soup, making the noodles soggy from soaking up all the broth. I can’t speak for the sushi, but the ramen was expensive and subpar.

Eating sushi is kinda tradition being at an airport… Sushi Maki looked good, so why not try it. Food was ok, more like supermarket sushi style apart from the spicy tuna roll, that one was really yummy! Disappointing was the rainbow roll as it was just a bit tasteless — the crabmeat wasn’t fresh which is probably the main reason and they didn’t had any roe on it either. Other than that, it’s freshly prepared as far I could see, the staff was very attentive and quick. Perfect for an airport. Would defo go back for another round!

When I saw the bad reviews I was scared. But when food started to come to the table I figured out why people wrote bad reviews. It’s always the same you know… People don’t put places in perspective… This is a sushi place at the airport!!! It’s way better option than a Starbucks croissant, a cold tasteless sandwich, a greasy disgusting slice of pizza or a bag of chips… This is not the 3 stars Michelin sushi place in Japan… Sorry I get very passionate with non sense people. Service was excellent(rare to find in the very unfriendly Miami) and food was ok. Similar to other basic sushi places. It wasn’t bad. And I’m a foody! We order sushi, fried tacos, pad thai and Thai doughnuts. We were happy.

What a fantastic surprise in MIA. We ordered sushi, sushi tacos, and pad thai and everything was 100% fantastic. The perfect meal before a trip. Very nice ambiance that makes you forget that you are in the gate. Ruben was or server and he was AMAZING, very good service and very knowledgeable about the menu. Very good choice.

I’m not a sushi lover but my partner is so we stopped and had dinner here between flights. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and it was alright. The chicken was a bit over cooked and the portion was a bit small but my partner seemed to enjoy his sushi. We have stopped here before and the food and service were much better the first time.

Mediocre to poor sushi but my review is about the service. I asked to buy a side of avocado for my 6 month old to eat while we were on a 3 hour lay over and they refused me on the basis that they may run out. Keep in mind 50% of their rolls have avocado in them(I was eating one at the moment) and I was asking to BUY2 slices. Disgusting…

Service was quick, warm, cute, but professional. Dragon and JB rolls were tasty and ample. Only complaint was the JB pieces was too big to fit in my mouth which is surprising because… Green tea was good, standard, too. The Spanish sounds and Asian chef was a comfortable, reassuring mix. Ambiance is trendy but not pretentious. Located between D29 and D30. That’s it, gotta go catch a flight. Ciao!

Well this was a surprise. On our way home from vacation and hadn’t had sushi in 6 days(that’s a long time without sushi in my book) so we spotted this restaurant in the airport and thought… what the hell, how bad could it be? Surprisingly? It was really good! We got miso soup(huge portion and tasty), vegetable fried rolls(decent) and then we got two sushi rolls — a salmon avocado and the Whole Foods Roll. Both were really good, fresh fish, soft rice… definitely just made before being served. I’m not sure what everyone else ate here to give it semi-shitty reviews but the sushi rolls were great! If I’m ever in the Miami airport again, I’ll definitely be back at Sushi Maki.

I am just saying. People have different tastes for food so I won’t say anything about it. I am just saying when you get the waitress«Fong» or something(older Asian lady with glasses) just be careful. She will try to make you order more than you need, in a very tricky way. Ask«Does it come with it?» all the time because there are charges. Plus be careful when you get the check. The price you see at the bottom is already 18% gratuity added. Don’t sign it off unless you really want to pay 18%.

Worst pad Thai I have ever had. Noodles were u under cooked, sent it back to cook more — still bad. The service was quick, but it’s an airport. The rest of the sushi was reasonable.

It’s airport food, so it’s pricy, but the servings of our stuff were generous. The chicken teriyaki was huge. They made us kappa maki rolls even through they weren’t on the menu, and they were 8 big pieces with lots of ginger and wasabi. Our waitress was great, very friendly, helpful, and really wanted to keep people happy. She kept the water glasses full and offered to fill my water bottle. The beer was cold and the Sapporo bottle was 16 oz. the edamame was good, and a nice serving. The fried veggie spring rolls were good, although the sauce was a bit bland. It’s a comfortable place to sit if you have time to kill on the way out of the country from the Miami airport.

The server was pushy, trying for me to order more expensive food and drinks. When I asked for a bottle of sake to go, they wanted to charge the 18% «suggested» gratuity. When I said I disagree with the suggestion they refused to sell me the small bottle. This is not good customer service. 18% should be paid as compensation for service, not for a simple transaction.

Pretty good — our server was on point even tho it was crazy busy so that was super appreciated. Yes, it’s sushi in an airport but it wasn’t as terrible as you think it would be. We just got off a very long flight from Barcelona so we just wanted a full tummy and this spot did the job. I just went basic with the wok fried rice — chicken with soy sauce, scallions, bean sprouts, edamame beans & onions. It wasn’t overly flavorful but it did the job for an exhausted traveler. Overall if I was in this airport again and walked by and was hungry, I would give it another try!

It wasn’t bad, although be warned that they so automatically tack on 18% gratuity to your bill so you don’t get a choice of how much you tip them. That being said, our service was good, so they missed out on a 20%tip. I tried the tacos since they looked interesting. The gyoza(potstickers) shells were crispy and crunchy and not too heavy. The salmon was suppose to be miso flavored, but it must have been subtle because I couldn’t detect it. The salmon was prepared like spicy tuna, the leftover cut up bits used for cheap rolls like spicy tuna. However, one cannot complain about the portion, it was a fair amount of fish in each taco. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t huge tacos but for an $ 8 appetizer this was worth the price. Not entirely sure the fish is fresh but Let’s just hope I don’t get any food poisoning. The beast roll was similar to an eel roll. It was decent but the rice tasted a little dry. It was probably a little old. The spider roll had asparagus which was unique. The soft shell crab was at least crispy. The Thai ice tea was small with a lot of ice but tasty. Was crowded for the dinner crowd so it was promising that there was a lot of turnover.

Coming into Miami late with hours to kill, this place beckoned us with promises of raw fish and wine. It didn’t disappoint — except for the all the green onions they put in my hamachi, must be a Florida thing(like having the A/C on year round). The wait staff was incredibly friendly and food was brought out promptly. Even though they’re were closing soon, our server treated us like friends and not the annoying last minute patrons we must have been. Traveling? I recommend stopping by here

Had the soft-shell crab(first time for me). Not sure what it was supposed to be like, but it was salty and otherwise tasteless to me. The rainbow roll was decent. The fish could have been colder. The wasabe and ginger was right on. The staff was friendly and the gratuity is automatically added at 18%. I would eat here again to get off the beaten path of fast airport food.

Want a last good sushi before boarding? Sushi maki is the place! Real japanese and fresh sushis and makis. Great experience in an airport terminal. Good service too. Check the softshell crab and the cold green tea.

For airport sushi, this place is actually pretty solid. While it’s no Nobu, the sushi was actually pretty good. The server was quite friendly and the food was served quick. Really, I don’t know what else to say other then the food surprised me in how good it was. Granted it was a little on the pricey side but then again, it is an airport.
