Randomly decided to come here with my boyfriend and we were absolutely shocked at how amazing their burgers were. I had the Bacon & Blue while my boyfriend had the Tap 49 burger. Let me just say, holy cow. Probably the best burger I have ever had!(I don’t even like burgers that much that’s how you know it’s real) Probably the best decision I’ve made in a while, plus requesting it with a side of truffle fries. Perfection. The only reason it is getting four stars is because their menu prices are false, when we got the bill everything was a couple dollars more than advertised. Big prop to the waitress though, one woman serving/bar tending all night and she handled it well. Definitely coming back!

Love this place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, Faith and Austin always provide great and timely service. The food always comes out hot and delicious — I’ve never had a bad meal here. Huge selection of beers and wine to choose from so there’s something for everyone. I can’t wait to go back!

We went today for the first time and tried a few different dishes. The food was good and the service was friendly. Our favorite were the burger with chorizo, the Truffle fries and the melted Brie. The lamb meatballs were a bit cold and lacked a bit of taste. They have a kale Caesar salad which is not too commonly found in Miami and it’s delicious, much better than the lettuce version. They have a good beer selection both draft and bottle and the prices are ok. We would come back.

Staff argued with us over our well done burger. Had manager come to table who also educated us on what a well done burger is like. You be the judge. Not worth the money. Should have gone to 5 guys.

I’ve been coming here for the last month after moving from NYC. The beer and wine selection is wide enough I struggle to pick one. However, the bar staff is very knowledgeable and their recommendations play well with my tastes. Their food menu is quite tasty. Their Barça burger is the best one I’ve had in a long time. The melted Manchego cheese just blends amazingly with the chorizo. The tuna sandwich is great if you are more health conscious. I will come back tomorrow knowing that I’ll receive the same high quality experience.

Five stars is the least I can offer for what the Tap 79 Burger offered me last night. It is perhaps the best burger I’ve had in Miami and maybe ever. At Tap 79 the beer is cold, the crowd is chill and the music is hot. It’s small, so if you can sit inside at the bar and enjoy the vibe, the food, and a very different type of place for Miami.

Just amazing!!! What can I say? Awesome food made but the greatest chef Alexei Corozo. Great staff and bartenders(Ask for Faith or Austin) great place for small gatherings of friends, after work drink with coworkers, parties and more… Love just going with my friend and hangout there, have a couple drink and few bites… Very reasonable prices and a lot of new stuff everyday… Everyone should try it!!!

Never disappoints. Food is great for the type of establishment, drinks are on point even though they only have wine and beer and service is great. Thank you Faith for such great hospitality all of the time. Your service has made this our Friday go to spot. :)

Been here a couple dozen times probably. Always a good time and great food but our experience last night was very disappointing. Only one server/bartender for the entire place and she tried but just could not keep up. Drinks were empty for too long, glass refilled instead of me ones poured, the appetizer took 30 minutes and was cold. When the dinner came out shortly after it was severely overcooked. My med rare burger came out black and dry yuck? Skinny fries were not so skinny. Will still likely go back because we have had so many good experiences but this one was so sub part we had to write about it.

I can’t even begin to talk about how excellent the menu is! It’s bold yet not pretentious, it’s fancy yet inexpensive, it’s All-American AND Mediterranean all at the same time. And it’s AMAZING. Miss Myrna and young Mr. Alexei handle the kitchen with a professionalism like nobody’s business… And I haven’t even gotten to the VIBE yet! Faith and Austin run the front of house, dining area and bar as if their young souls have been doing it for 20 years. I feel VERY much at home when I am there. They spare not a moment to make me and EVERYONE feel important and comfortable.(And we tend to forget how crucial that is in a dining experience.) So anyway-all of that to say that I absolutely recommend Tap 79 to any and EVERYONE who isn’t afraid to 1. enjoy great food and wonderful craft beers; 2. hang in a small yet quaint and extremely personal space with AWESOME people; and 3. have a true smile! So what ch’all waitin’ for reading this review?! GO!!!

Overpriced, too long for food to come out, not a great craft beer selection. 0 stars. Not many good options, small portions, bad food quality

I was one of the first people to review this place and I raved about it. I told my friends about it and I started bringing people here because to me it is a hidden gem. I usually go her a few times a month as well as Bin 18(the first of the resturants) Well, things have changed and it’s starting to look like it’s for the worst. A few times I have gone here at 9pm and the bartenders have said«Sorry we are closed», wait what on Google it says you close at 11pm. Another night we went and ordered a tabla, we were told«Sorry, we are out of bread but you can have burger rolls» Okay, we can cope but don’t charge us for your mistake(Yup, 2.00) Last night though got me pretty ticked off. My friend just moved here and I thought this was the perfect spot since on Thursday’s the tabalas are 50% off and she loves them. We ordered a 8 piece tabla, shrimp, and drinks. I asked that the SHRIMPONLY be brought to the table when the third person came. She asked me if ONLY the shrimp order should be held and i confirmed, yes. We ate, the food was delicious but my friend and boyfriend noted how the portions on the tablas were so small. My bf and i got the tabalas way back when and the portions were double in size. I told my friend, honestly it’s not worth complaining about since the tabalas are 50% off, it’s a good deal. SPOILERALERT: The tabla wasn’t 50% off. Our bill came and we see we are charged the full price. We tell the waitress, there must be a mistake. No she says, the tabalas are only 50% from 7 – 9. Wait, since when? When we told her we have been coming here for a year now since you guys opened, no one has ever told us that, it doesn’t say that on the menu under the specials, why didn’t you TELLUSTHAT when we ordered, she QUESTIONEDUS. «When was the last time you came here, it’s always been like that» — we came a few weeks ago and ordered at 9:30 and it was 50% off. «Was I your waitress, everyone tells our customers it’s from 7−9» — nope our waitress was blonde. «Oh yea she used to work here but I have been here for a year and I am the manager» Why are you questioning your customers? Your loyal customers? We continued to explain, we come here a lot, this has never been brought up and if we had known we would have ensured that you put the order in at 9. «I put the order in at 9:15 it says it on my ticket BUT i will check the system but I can’t do anything about it» That’s when my boyfriend said«Well for 40 bucks, the portions are really small on top of it all» In the end she gave it to us for 50% but with attitude«I was able to take it off due to miscommunication» … –_____– «You guys should update the menu or let customers know» Eye roll from our waitress, a scoff and«ya, uhu sure» wait wtf. What happened to 1. Informing your customers NOMATTER what of the specials of the day? 2. If we are ordering the special you should inform your customers there is a time table. 3. WHYAREYOUQUESTIONINGTHECUSTOMERS? So baffled. I am giving them 2 stars because meh, i have experience better at TAP79. Update your menus, get new staff, PLEASE. I love this place and no i am not going to stop going there but i will not be going as often and I won’t be telling my new friends in town. I had this on my airbnb as a must eat at and have since removed it. I don’t want to recommend a place like this to my friends and people that are out of town when the wait staff is so intimidating and overbearing. Please go back to your golden days!

My interaction with the team at Tap 79: Me: Hi, I’d like to order some beer. Tap 79: We don’t have that. Or that. Or that. Me: Okay, how about a lamb burger? Tap 79: Sure! But it won’t be ready for 15 minutes. … Wait, make that 30 minutes. … More like 60 minutes. … Actually, we don’t have lamb. Guess Gastropubs don’t really have to have food or beer to claim that title.

After many months of lurking around Tap 79 and wanting to give it a try, we finally had the chance last night. We’re big fans of Bin No. 18 and were eager to see what the owners’ newest concept had in store. On a steamy July night, we were mildly disappointed to find there are no tables indoors that could host more than three diners. The patio is charming though, so we chose a table and settled in outside. I loved the selection of delicious beers on tap, from which I chose a Leffe and then a local wheat variety. Both were perfect for summer: crisp, bright, and served nice and cold. If you like Leffe, I highly recommend trying it on draft. Divine! We ordered the hot and spicy bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and served on a bed of fresh kale(yay). The sauce was a well balanced blend of mildly sweet and pungently spicy. This item was a total win. For our entrees, I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich with cheesy tater tots, my husband had a burger with truffle fries, and my friend had a salad and mac and cheese. My sandwich boasted fresh ahi tuna served on rye bread. The tuna itself was delicious, but unfortunately it was difficult to taste the thin slices. I prefer an ahi steak to the smaller portioned slices, but the price was relatively inexpensive so it was acceptable. The«cheese» tater tots(for +$ 2) were disappointing. The tots were fine but I could not locate the alleged cheese. However I enjoyed the dipping sauces. Overall the food was above average. On the night of our visit there were two bartenders who were apparently sharing table duty. Our main server was a bit frazzled and seemed to forget about us with some regularity. However the young lady who came to visit during his absence was fantastic — friendly, quick, and knowledgeable. Overall I was satisfied with the meal, drinks, and value and would return to Tap 79 for happy hour especially. I got the impression management is simply not as involved as they perhaps should be, and with a little tweaking this locals spot could easily be bumped up to 4 stars. Bottom Line: good spot for drinks at the bar and happy hour or for dining at a table if you’re not in a rush and don’t mind sitting outside.

Embarrassing. One person working. We stood in the doorway for five minutes before she even looked up. She told us, «Sit anywhere you want.» We did(at a table outside, because inside there were only two-tops, and we were four). Ten minutes passed. She never came. We left.

I came here for a girls’ HH last week and was glad that the organizer selected this spot as I love a good beer. First positive is that they have parking! The place itself is small, but there is outdoor and indoor seating. We sat at the bar and had a few beers based on the bartender’s suggestions. I like their selection! Just enough to be interesting without being overwhelming. We didn’t eat, but when Larry S. came to pick me up, he perused the menu and said it looked interesting but pricey. Speaking of pricey, the beers outside of HH pricing were on the higher end of the scale. Now, in and of itself, that is not a bad thing; I’m sure it costs money to have a large selection, especially for a small place. However, there are places with similar selection and pricing within stumbling distance of my domicile — no need to drive. I do think that this little spot is a great addition to what is becoming the new food and drink corridor of Miami and I definitely plan on stopping by for some food next time I pass by.

Like that Andrea True Connection track* — sampled on my 90’s favorite one hit wonder summer anthem — I wish I’d had more, more, more of that chicken sandwich! Portion size is what keeps Tap 79 at 4 stars(mathematically proved below!) The portion size keeps them from the 5th star! I stumbled into Tap 79 on the way back from full moon beach, and spotted this hidden spot off the 79th Street Causeway. Besides the outside tables, I also noticed the flat screen TV showing our Miami Heat in the valiant yet vain struggle post Lebron. I was able to have a friendly chat with(fellow pet parent) barteneder, who told me that they’re dog friendly on the outside table, while I waited for my chicken burger. I started off my dinner with a cool, crisp glass of Verdejo wine which went well with the chicken sandwich I enjoyed. Served on a piece of toasted bread with baked swiss, mixed greens and fries, I just wish I’d had more. The sandwich itself was smaller than my hand. Although the chicken was tender and juicy, and my greens crisp, I was just dipping bread in the spicy ketchup after a few bites. The mango smoothie I had for dessert helped to tide me over, with no sugar added and fresh pieces of mango. It has potential, but I wish I’d have had more food to savor. Amazing!!! What a nice surprise. While on a quest to find something new we stumbled upon this place. What a great addition to the gastropub lists! Place is small, with a minimalist décor and a fantastic menu. Servers a friendly and well trained. They know each dish very well and which craft beer to suggest. We tried the lamb meatballs, Aranci di Riso(saffron Rissotto /mozzarella balls), the local burrata and the steak frites and for our grand finale fried cheesecake!!! Saw the burgers come out of the kitchen and they looked amazing!!! None of the above disappointing at all. Each one was carefully crafted and prepared with love. Give it a try. You will fall in love just like we did. Cant wait to come back!!!
