RENTER’S BEWARE!!! My boyfriend and I moved in a month ago. We found a beautiful apartment on a high floor and we were so excited to enjoy our new home. My landlord and the apartment are both top notch. However, living here has been MISERABLE due to the STAFF, especially the women who works at the front desk. They are RUDE! You are on their schedule and they have absolutely 0 consideration for your time. The only nice staff I have met are two of the guys at the front and the valet. When we first moved in, one of the women at the front desk point blank told my boyfriend unless he speaks to her in Spanish she won’t help him. We have asked them 3x to put us on «the list» so we can be in the system for when we receive packages or for when guests come to visit. It still hasn’t been done. The package office is a whole other mess. It closes at 6PM. Before then, you can call and ask them to leave the package on the counter, then security will open the door so you can retrieve your package. I don’t get home from work until 7. I called and ask them to leave the package and on 3 different occasions the package was never there. If it’s not there you have to come back. They open at 8:30AM. This morning I was there at 8:30AM on the dot to ensure I wasn’t going to be late to work. The same woman who told my boyfriend he needs to speak Spanish or bust strolls in at 8:45AM. She opens the door to the front desk and said«YES??». I advise her I have a package. She gets it and puts it behind the desk. Then, she keeps looking around for who knows what. I go behind the desk to get my package and leave. I am already late to work. You know, the job that pays me so I can pay my rent. No big deal. Her response: «YOUARESORUDE. I AMSICKOFDEALINGWITHYOU. GETOUTOFHERENOW» To which I replied, «You being incompetent, doesn’t make me rude, those are two different things. I am not on your schedule» At which point she put her hand in my face. Yes, HANDTOFACE at 8:45AM. WTF!!! Isn’t that assault? No one needs to deal with that at home. EVER. Clearly. this women needs some intensive customer service training and by intensive customer service training I mean she needs to be FIRED. DON”T LIVEHEREUNLESSYOUWANTTODEALWITHIGNORANCE. The room was nice and it had access to the gym and pool but it was expensive place to stay and all restaurants are far away.

The Grand Doubletree, also referred as The Grand, is a skyscraper on the north side of Downtown Miami, within the Omni District. It was completed in 1986 and designed by the Atlanta architectural firm of Toombs, Amisano and Wells. It is both a condo and a hotel, the hotel portion of which was renovated in 2004. This is a full-service building, with such things as doggie spas, convenience stores, clothing stores, hair salons, a marina, and several restaurants, like Tony Chan’s Water Club, Catch Bar & Grill, and their newly added Casablanca, all on the first floor. It overlooks magnificent views of Biscayne Bay. It is conveniently close to the Margaret Pace Park, Omni, Trinity Episcopal, the Marriott, and the Venetian Causeway, the Arsht Center, and Midtown. Although some might find the building to look somewhat dated, it actually is very tastefully done and elegant. It makes a great place to take a stroll, especially if you’re near the park or eating in one of the restaurants. If you’re just walking around in the area, pop right in to get a much-needed break from the Miami mugginess of the heat and humidity.
