The Hangar

I don’t know why anyone would come here. I haven’t been for a show or event, but I took a bartending class here during the day and this place is disgusting. The bar is filthy and there were roaches and flies everywhere. I would never order a drink from this place. Serious health code violations here, can’t believe this place hasn’t been shut down.
The women’s restroom is also terrible, some of the stalls don’t even have toilet paper holders, just a toilet, and the handicap stall had a hole in the ground where the sink should be. What the hell is this place!

The Hangar is the perfect name for this place because after visiting you want to hang yourself. This place is the worst nightlife venue I have ever been to, I don’t even know where to start.
Only came here because Skrillex did a last minute event and I guess this is the only place he could find with a few hours notice. He wanted to also keep it cheap so that his true fans could afford to come. Hangar had other ideas though and did everything possible to make sure they ripped off everyone who came. They do not care about getting repeat business b/​c I am sure even they know they will be closed in a matter of months.
First thing to know– place is 18+ but most of the people in here were about 15 or 16 years old. They will let in pretty much anyone who will give them $ and they can rip off.
Cover was $ 20 but they would let in about 5 people every 15 minute in the hopes that you would get tired of waiting and buy a table which they were selling for $ 1k or tip the door people. After waiting almost an hour and moving a few feet in line we chose the later and tipped the pregnant lady at the door $ 100 with the understanding that we would not pay a cover. After she slickly takes our money she say oh you still have to pay cover screwing us over b/​c at that point it was too late to get the $ back from her and leave. We pay an additional $ 20 each and walk into a sauna as the AC was not working. It was so hot it was steamy in there!
Once we’re inside and see what a dump this place is we know our only hope is to try to drink to make this S*%T hole bearable. They only had 3 bartenders and they were the slowest most incompetent bartenders (working here b/​c no decent club would hire them). There were only a handful of people who could drink in the whole place yet we still waited 20 minutes for a bartender to even acknowledge us. I ask for a vodka tonic and a beer and the the bartender charges $ 20 for the vodka and $ 10 for the beer! No brand water was $ 8 a bottle! Did I mention this place was a S*%T hole!!! Yet they have the nerve to charge prices like they are LIV. RIP OFF!
We moved from the bar and went near the stage to listen to Skrillex which was the whole reason we came here. To top things off sound system and lighting were horrible. Sound was muffled and off as was the base and their «lighting system» was laughable. They had one laser light. Twice in his set the sound system just stopped. Skrillex did the best he could with what he had but really the venue could not have been worse. If he would have played in an empty parking lot it would have been more enjoyable.
First and last time coming to this rip off/​sorry excuse for a venue. No matter who is performing there, it is not worth seeing them at this venue. Avoid at all cost!

Confirmed whackest venue I’ve ever seen a rap show at. Hands down shitties security guards I have ever seen they were choke holding and body slamming people just for moshing and the artist was encouraging the crowd to mosh. It looked like it was the whole staffs first day in the job we got there early and we had to wait 2 hours in line and also at the end of the show they were directing the whole crowd the wrong way. They also didn’t have a water fountain and they weren’t giving out cups of water even though half of the crowd was dying of dehydration. Confirmed never ever going back to this venue even if wu-​tang played there.

Let me start off by saying I’ve never posted a review on Unilocal before but my experience here made me feel so strongly about how terrible this venue is, I had to write one.
First off, getting into the venue was an absolute mess. The staff at the entrance has no crowd control skills whatsoever.
Furthermore, we RSVP’d to the event in order to get in free but they schemed us out of that at the door. We then had to pay the entry fee, which honestly isn’t even a big deal but it’s whack how they advertise something only to not go thru with it when people show up expecting to get in for free.
So far everything I’ve complained about can be somewhat tolerated if inside the staff and environment makes up for it. Unfortunately that definitive worst thing about this venue is their asshole douchebag staff.
At the bar, they charge you 3 dollars for a cup of tap water with ice. Don’t get me wrong, I understand they can’t give away free stuff, but it’s fairly common procedure for not only bars and concert venues but also literally every restaurant in town to charge you for bottled water but NOT for a water cup. I mean, what if someone was dehydrated and out of money? The staff would be more than content with just letting that person die. In my opinion the bartenders were just scheming to rip off the patrons for cash.
Ok so now that I have addressed those issues, my biggest problem with this place is the miserable no-​life security guards who think they can abuse what little authority they have to bully people around and treat them like shit. I swear on my life these assholes for sure have small dick insecurity issues. The whole crowd was hyped and having a good time but the security guards kept trying to break up the mosh pit. In the name of «safety» security guards repeatedly body slammed concert goers into the ground or pulled them out of the crowd in a sleeper choke hold.
Management needs to do a little research and get with the times because moshing is not a show of violence with malicious intent, instead it is a form of releasing energy and is meant to be inclusive and all about positivity, if someone falls to the ground, you pick them back up, unlike this one security guard who repeatedly held down and stomped on kids who fell on the floor.
It’s as simple as this: if you don’t want to allow moshing at your venue, then don’t book artists who attract people who mosh and incite the crowd to mosh.
