I have nothing but praise for zip car. I use them at least once a week they are very attentive to all my needs. Great selection of cars, my favorite Audi Q5.

After the Zipcar garage on Alton didn’t have my promised car(and after Zipcar let me wait 30 minutes although they had been informed of the situation), Zipcar led me to their 500 Collins garage for a Honda CRV. I arrived, and discovered my Zipcar card wouldn’t open the car. After 10 minutes of holding on the phone, Zipcar told me I had an old card which wouldn’t work until they mailed me a new one. After 45 minutes of infuriating waiting, Zipcar failed to deliver on their promise to rent me a car that had been reserved with ample time. They failed to communicate the other car’s unavailability, and failed to communicate that my card needed renewal both prior to the reservation, during the time of my reservation, ad during my call re-arranging the reservation due to Zipcar’s malfunction. The business proposition of Zipcar is «wheels when you want them.» There is an inherent promise that the wheels will be there when you want them. They weren’t. They failed. And when they recognized they failed, they failed to offer any consolation for their failure beyond saying that I wouldn’t be charged for the car rental. You’re damn right: BECAUSEZIPCARFAILEDTOPROVIDE A CAR.
