Went here again, this time we caught the Wednesday night Ribeye special. Very large thick juicy boneless ribeye with onions and a potato for $ 13.99 — WOW! Very nice big thick steak, delicious and done perfectly to order with great seasonings. Good baked potatoes, mashed potatoes were very salty(might have been a mistake in the kitchen on that…) Also on Wednesday they have ½ price draft specials. We’ll be back again soon! Once we finish digesting all that steak!

Took my folks here today, first time. Had tried to go last week but it was on Sunday and we were early. Gotta tell you, SO worth the wait. We were blown away by the food and atmosphere. Some of the war stuff was a little confusing but as we explored the place(it is MUCH larger than it looks) we got the fuller picture. The food was GREAT! Sauerkraut balls, and hot slaw cannot be beat! And the pork chops! Oh my, the pork chops! Best i have had at a restaurant in many years. PLEASE, give the a try. If you don’t like THEIR food, you simply don’t like food. Period!

My husband and I frequent the Bier Haus often. Their steaks are so good! They are purchased from an Angus farm located in Oxford, Ohio. The atmosphere is lovely and I enjoy the outside bar area.

I took my son and daughter in law here expecting them to have great German fare and myself to have some great beer. We were all dissapointed. My son had the worst steak of his life and my daughter in law’s beer cheese was runny and went untouched. The server started the beer list with Bud Light and ended with Dunkel.(«but we are out») Why would you even mention it? The tables do face out to the river, but apparently those are only open on the weekend. Again, why? This will be my last visit as there are too many great German places in Zinzinnati!

Ups and Downs here — I was hoping for a better experience! We went on a Tuesday night because we wanted to use a Groupon before it expired. This place is very adorable! It has a cute, German lodge theme going on inside, and the outdoor patio is amazing(Opens May 1 officially). They said they will have bands on Saturdays and there are three levels of outdoor seating. You can see the Miami River from the decks and from windows inside, and the view is great. When we arrived, we were quoted a 20-minute wait time for two. It turned out to be at lease 25 minutes, maybe more, and we were finally seated because we spoke up to the host and he seated us. During our wait, we had a beer at the bar. There are 8 options on tap, and 3 were not available(another ran out while we were there). That said, we had the Kreimer’s Dark Ale, and it was a good choice. It is a very drinkable brown ale, don’t be put off by the«Dark» description — it’s not heavy or too filling. The bartender was very friendly and she appeared to be managing a full bar quite well. Our server was very friendly, but she seemed overwhelmed. Food — We highly recommend the pretzel bread with beer cheese. It’s three soft, yeasty pretzel sticks with a hint of a rye flavor, with some delicious beer cheese dip. Would definitely eat those again. Our appetizer came out right away, followed by our salads, but the entrée took forever. Couldn’t tell if we were forgotten by the kitchen, our server, or something else happened. I got the fish log, which came with a salad, potato and side vegetable. It was over cooked, and I wasn’t too hungry by the time it came due to the delay in the delivery of our entrees. I probably should have ordered something better, but our server said it was one of the most popular items. My companion ordered the Schwein Chop, which was a huge dish! It was a large pork chop, topped with some kind of bbq sauce, served with sauerkraut, baked apples, German Potato Salad, and veggies. Very German flavors all over the plate(except the veggies). The sauerkraut was great. All of the Pork Chop dishes at the other tables looked good. Pork Chops are what you should get if you go there. It ended up taking about an hour to get our entrees after we had been seated at our table! The restaurant was busy and overwhelmed, due to a number of Groupons and other offers expiring this week. They had 86’d 4 beers, potato pancakes, baked potatoes, hot slaw and something else, due to the busy weekend. I’m not sure if it would be better in different circumstances or not… I hope it will be, as I plan to return to check out the new deck in the summer.

Out of the way joint. Where the hell is Miamitown? Next to Harrison, another total shit hole. The restaurant is located next to the Miami River. Very cool indoor and outdoor seating, fire pit, outdoor bar, outdoor dance area. Kind of reminded me of a German cottage or chalet. For a German restaurant, they had very little German food. WTF, no schnitzel? Kind of strange, but whatever. We started with Sauerkraut Balls. Yummy. Homemade mustard, mmmm. Salad was great, homemade bread and killer Honey Mustard dressing. I ordered Bier Cheese Mettwurst. She brought the plate and it was a huge sausage, like one foot long, deep fried over sauerkraut with a ton of cheese. The serving was huge, you could split it easily. The taste was out of the world. My dinner guest had the Oscar Ribeye, Kreimer’s ribeye served with crab meat, asparagus and béarnaise sauce and he said it was very good!!! It looked awesome! The beer selection was hurting and they were out of a lot of the beers. LoL… Service was great, I gave this place barely a four because of the lack of German food for a German restaraount and the lack of food for a joint that is named Beer House, LOLOLOL

We were there last night 2÷23÷13. Great atmosphere but food and service are in need of help. The draft beer selection could be better and draft sizes are either 16 oz or 44 oz. REALLY? Buy some 22 oz glasses! No rush to go back.

I joined a friend here yesterday for a late Sunday lunch. They had a varied menu, but since i was in a «German» establishment, I wanted some German fare. I chose the Schwein Chop, as I hadn’t had a port chop since Christmas! When the waitress(who did an excellent job) brought the food, my eyes nearly bugged out! It was the biggest plate of food I’ve had since my last family reunion! The chop was ginormous, and delicious! I ate every bite of the chop and the sauerkraut, but didn’t have enough room for the apples, potato cake and green beans(which weren’t awesome). It was a little cool, but we still chose to sit out on the covered deck. They had a very nice series of decks that lead to a patio and bar overlooking the river. A river that I saw someone describe as «muddy», it’s a river, not an ocean, they are most often muddy, but still can be beautiful and peaceful. Since I was recovering from over-imbibing earlier in the weekend, I didn’t even peruse the beer selection, but if they have a Dunkel, all is good with the world!

Great atmosphere, decent beer selection. HORRIBLE food :(I’ll come back if I’m not eating… it seems like they put a lot of effort into the atmosphere and the food was an afterthought.

For a German bar the atmosphere is wonderful and alcohol selection is decent. the food however is not. There is a very small menu with not many German food selections at all. The food was over priced for the quality, the service was decent. But the whole time they were blaring rap music from the kitchen. this would be a great bar and place to eat if not for the food quality and loud music in the kitchen

We went with another couple on a Saturday night arriving a little after 7. We were told there would be an hour wait which was fine with the outdoor seating by the river. 75 minutes later we we’re seated after we went to the hostess stand to check on the delay. It took at least 10 minutes to get the waitress to get our drink order. She was quite nice and made good recommendations. But the wait for the food was unbelievable. The salad took at least twenty minutes to arrive, and it was iceberg lettuce, probably bagged from Krogers. The entrees were at least another 40 minute wait. The waitress said the kitchen got slammed, but other tables were served in a timely manner. We left the restaurant after 10:30. In my opinion there are better places to spend your money.

Very Pleasant… specially if you can eat outside. Pork Chop, potato pancake and spinach salad were wonderful. Steak was overdone wife insisted… but restaurant gave us a generous discount. Server, Bobbi, was excellent. D

Been at Bier Haus a couple of times recently and they have stepped up their game! They listened! Food quality is much better… sides have greatly improved. The pork chops are some of the best around and they have added some interesting specials. The steaks look awesome. Most important, the lady that was always at the bar before must be gone, so service and hospitality is much better. Nice job Bier Haus!

When the weather is nice, the last place I want to be is inside. So, I’m always seeking out different restaurants or bars that have good and fun outdoor seating areas. Today was one of those nice days and I was meeting my father for lunch. I decided on The Bier Haus in Miamitown because the location was a nice middle-meeting place. This was the first time I have been there in over 10 years and I knew they had some outdoor seating. Boy, I was very surprised and impressed with the newly upgraded and designed back patio area. It has a three-tier patio area including a covered area, an outside bar, and a raw bar. The back patio is back along the river. I ordered the fish sandwich and it was very good and I enjoyed it very much, but that is all I can comment on the food for the moment. They do seem to have a large beer list, but not sure about their selection of Craft Beers. As I walked around the indoors, it appears to have been update a bit also with a German Cabin Feel — very cool. If you are like me and are always seeking cool outdoor patios out and if you don’t mind the drive out to Miamitown, Ohio, you should try this place out. p. s. — I’m only giving it 3 stars at the moment because I really didn’t get a chance to rate much of the food or drink selection. I plan to return on another nice afternoon!

I’ve been here a few times since it’s just down the street from my old apartment, but the location is the only real thing it has going for it. I love the atmosphere, but the food is pretty crappy. Their pretzels are just reheated from frozen, which should be unacceptable at a German restaurant in Cincinnati. Don’t they realize that we’ve been the Hofbräuhaus and know what a pretzel is supposed to taste like?

This place is a lot like Hofbrauhaus or Mecklenburg Gardens… which would make sense. I’m not a huge German beer fan, or even a huge beer fan in general, so I didn’t really notice the subtle differences. I sat outside on a perfect breezy summerlike night, drinking a beer mixed with lemonade(I believe it’s called a shandy, but I just pointed at someone’s drink and said«I’ll have that» so I can’t be sure). It tasted good, so I was happy. I got to sample the fried pickles, which were $ 8 and not worth it, but then I also tried the pretzel bread with beer-cheese dip which was delicious. They also have a whole steak section on their menu — lots of ribeye — that I was tempted to try, but I was too full :(Overall, I liked the atmosphere and the food selection and I’d probably come back again.

Location: This German restaurant has a convenient location to the I-275 Interstate in the Cincinnati area. It also is located next to a small, but muddy river. There is outdoor seating next to the riverfront. Food: For a German restaurant, it seemed like the variety of food was a little thin in authentic German cuisines. I ordered the Bratwurst/Sauerkraut balls, these were deep fried and served on a bed on sauerkraut. These were very good but a bit mushy and the sauerkraut was a bit dry for my liking. I also ordered a side of a potato pancake, this was excellent but someone broke off a corner before it was served to me. I guess one of the servers wanted a little snack. I asked the couple sitting next to me how there food was. Their Loaded Potatos were ‘very good but a heart attack waiting to happen’. These were sliced potatos with melted cheese on top with a cup of ranch dressing on the side. Beer: The selection was a bit thin with the selection of ‘Kreimer’s Dark Ale’, ‘Kreimer’s Light Ale’, Warsteiner, and the American Macrobrews. I guess that I may be setting the bar high but this is a German restaurant and they are called the ‘Bier Haus’. I was very disappointed with the beer selection. Service: I went to the restaurant on a Friday evening when the weather was nice, I pulled into the last parking spot but they were not very busy. A mature woman working behind the bar waited on me. The restaurant seems like a mom-and-pop operation. She may have been the manager or one of the owners. She seemed distracted by many other activities that were going on. One of servers out in the Riverfront seemed very friendly however. One of the servers was cleaning the menus at the bar with window cleaner, filling a spray bottle with the cleaner and took out a glass from the bar and filled the glass on the bar with the cleaner. Ambience: The architecture is very impressive. There is a lot of detailed wordworking and stone work inside and out. It has a old world ambiance but still had a new feeling to it. I had the impression that the restaurant either recently expanded or was recently remodeled. There was a circular saw in front of the building and a ladder leaning against the bar. Some of the untreated woodwork and the stone seemed to be a little mismatched at times. Overall: I am on the fence whether I would go back. If it was a nice summer day, I would consider sitting out on the Riverfront to get a bite to eat. But do not expect anything special in terms of imported Bier.

Went here with the parents as they apparently love this place. I, on the other hand, was not such the fan. Totally greasy and flavorless stuff. I won’t go back unless I“m forced. And I probably will be.
