This is a fun place to go for the evening. From the wide array of décor(think medieval helmets, WW2 memorabilia and oddly strange murals) to the excellent drinks and good food. Not everything is going to appeal to your specific tastes, and that is ok. The Bavarian chicken was too sweet for me, but the pork chops were phenomenal! There is so much charm and authentic fun/uniqueness here that going with friends is going to be a good time!

This is a darling little place tucked on the west side of town but almost immediate off the highway for those intimidated by westside locations. I had a delicious strip steak here — it was juicy, well flavored and came with excellent sides. The server I had was friendly and very honest with suggestions which I appreciated. They also brew their own beer, I believe having two on tap at all times. I tried their lager, which was dark but delicious on taste. This is a good place to go with families or on a date as it’s cozy but not too small — well lit and nicely appointed. If you feel the need to be active after your awesome meal there’s also batting cages just around the corner before you hit the highway!

Great atmosphere, great service. Food was a bit on the too greasy side, but good. The scalloped apples are amazing. The women’s restock are the smallest I have ever seen.

Kreimer’s is a secret gem of the West Side! Located in the Cleves/Miamitown area, it is a tad bit out of the way, but is a great option if you are driving through the area or are visiting. My family and I spent a Saturday visiting an aunt in Cleves and decided to stop here for dinner before driving home. Arriving around 6:30PM on a Saturday(same night as the Crosstown Shootout), we were given a wait time of around an hour for our group of five. Being familiar with longer waits, we settled in at the bar to enjoy the game, some drinks, and appetizers. The bar had some amazing drink specials — the Grinch and a Peppermint Schnapps special. We additionally ordered some fried pickles and pretzels + beer cheese. Both appetizers were delicious and satisfied our pre-dinner hunger pains. The women managing the bar were very attentive as well, and helped to make drink recommendations and answer our questions about the area. Once we were seated, we all ordered and painstakingly waited for our food. At this point, the restaurant had cleared out for the most part, and the service slowed. When we did finally receive our food, the portions overwhelmed us all. Kreimer’s schnitzel meal, the Chicken Cordon Blue, burgers, and sandwiches(all things we ordered) are easily items that could be shared between two people. I think we ended up taking home more food than we actually enjoyed in the restaurant. Definitely consider sharing meals and dishes before ordering to save money and prevent wasting food. The meals overall were good, but similar to what you could find at any burger or German restaurant. Finally, we had a small hiccup with paying, but the manager helped sort out the issue with the server. Aside from the food and service, one thing you will instantly notice about this place is the décor. The walls are decorated with painted German murals and accented with carved woodworking, while the shelves contained helmets, headgear from the World Wars, and a plethora of decommissioned guns. The German flag hangs from every corner, and the wood tables, chairs, stone bar, etc. make you feel as though you are in an authentic German alehouse. In addition, Unilocal has two listings for Kreimer’s: this Kreimer’s Bier Haus and then a second Bier Haus West with the same address. I am not sure if the restaurant makes a distinction between the two, causing the two listings, but both seem to reference Kreimer’s restaurant and beer garden.

The interior décor is very unique and cool. There are lots of knickknacks all over the place and some impressive looking old firearms on display. It has a genuine German feel to it, which is reflected in the menu as well. I got a bacon wrapped steak. It was good and prepared to my preference. If you like meat and potatoes(its Ohio, of course you do) then you will love this place. I also ordered a hot drink from the bar that the waitress recommended. I cannot remember what they called it but it was an apple cider with some kind of sweet liquor in it, which was very good. It would be fun to go back in the summer time and have lunch on their big beautiful patio outside.

This place is an experience. The tables and interior are the real deal: made big and strong out of hefty wood beams. There are a number of rooms, from indoor, to screened in, to outdoor. The decorations are entertaining and range from hunting, to WWII, to medieval. Outside, they have a fire pit, a bar, a pond, and a variety of seating. The beer and alcohol selection is good. While the food does not cater to vegetarians, it certainly was well received by my friends. The burgers were judged to be very good and the deep fried sauerkraut balls were a hit.

Fun German American restaurant on the Great Miami River just west of Cincinnati and south of I-74 at the Cleves exit. Terrific outside seating during nice weather… and a whole riverside bar area on weekends. Had a big 22 oz. stein of their home brew followed by appetizers, schnitzel with red cabbage, chicken breast with apples and potato pancakes and a couple of wiener sandwiches enthusiastically consumed by our party. Cheesecake that followed was the best I have had since leaving NYC. $ 83.00 for four. Except for a somewhat abrupt server, we had a great time and Kreimer’s is highly recommended! Deano

Told us the wait was 20 minutes. Then came and said the kitchen was slow it would take 50 minutes. Okay. Had a beer at the bar. good tap beer. No happy hour. Dinner: ouch. Cold hamburger, cold fries. Had much better at Wendy’s. Husbands steak was on special. great price, poor quality. Servers very sweet, but won’t be back because the food is subpar.(This was our second time.)

I have been to Kreimer’s twice now. The food is huge! The first time we got the pretzels and i got a Reuben… it was delicious! the second time I go a pork chop(which ended up being 3 meals). It came with a side and a potato pancake. The broiled chop itself was topped with scalloped apples and Swiss. cooked perfectly and very yummy. After differ we wandered down the hill to the bar that is right on the water. It is a great atmosphere although not very busy, and they could use more lighting… but they had a ton more beers on draft than at the restaurant. It was so nice to get a drink after dinner and sit and stare out onto the water. this place is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots since moving to the west side.

We went with a big group on a Saturday night. We had reservations, which they accommodated with no problems. Most of us had sandwiches or appetizers. Prices seemed on the high side of reasonable for these items($ 10.95 for a chicken sandwich and fries). The fries were seasoned nicely. Many of the sandwiches came on pretzel rolls. Service was polite. Ambiance of the room we were in was interesting to look at– stone walls with a mini German-style village around the top border of the room and a German moutain scene painted on one wall. Also a stuffed rhino head. They had a great patio area that I would like to check out with a smaller group sometime.

What a gem of a place off the beaten path! We went on a Wednesday which means that we got 50% off drafts(limit 2 per person) and $ 12 ribeye steaks! For that kind of deal I didn’t have very high expectations, so my low expectations were blown out of the water! We arrived and were told that the wait to sit outside would be 45 – 60 minutes so we put our name in and took a seat at the bar. Within 10 minutes we were being taken to our outside table! The tap selection wasn’t expansive but they did have a few domestics, a few german beers, and a couple seasonal beers, as well as 2 beers they brew themselves. The food was top notch! I highly recommend the bourbon sauce! It was sweet and a little tangy. Yum! We took a quick walk around the bar area down by the river. It looked like a super fun place to come for a beer on a warm summer night. We’ll definately be back to try that out in a few months!

We had a event we were going to, and decided we would have time for dinner at Kreimers. It’s a drive into the country from just about any civilization. They offer call ahead seating, but only when they have a wait. We called at 5:45 to say we were on our way, but since there was no wait, they wouldn’t take our name. When we got there 30 minutes later, they were on a 20 minute wait. What are we to do, call every five minutes to see if they’re on a wait so we can leave our name on the list? Unfortunately front end management had no apology for their issue and no interest in making it right. In fact the two managers we came across were rather arrogant about it. That’s just poor customer service. If you’re sensitive to smells, avoid Kreimers, for they use a cleaning solution that sends ammonia permeating throughout the building. Also, if you have dietary needs or diabetes, you won’t find Splenda or Equal… they’re so far behind, the only offer pink and white. The food is okay and the service is average. Temperature in the building depends on where you are seated… one section will generally be hot and another cold. Liked the food, but doubt we’d return.
