While in the area and in a last minute decision, went in for a quick burger and beverage. Just my luck, it was $ 5 burger night(a Saturday special). Combination dining room and bar — establishment seemed to draw a middle-aged bar crowd with an almost-full seated bar. Nonetheless, I was able to snag a single bar seat. Worth noting at the time of my visit, there was a handful of seated dining room patrons(adjacent to the bar). Two jovial bar patrons(the self-appointed welcoming committee and«mayor») kindly introduced me to several regulars. This single handedly enhanced my welcomed feeling. Plenty of TVs to view. Bartenders were busy, gracious, and attentive. Cheeseburger $ 5.50(w/fried onions, add $ 0.50)(w/fries, add $ 2) was cooked to order.(Not crazy about the fried onions on my burger; Had to keep pulling them out of my mouth; Seemed like the outer skin of the onion making them difficult to bite and chew.) On the other hand, domestic beverages were cold and quickly served. Karaōke DJ was setting up. Luckily, no one requested to sing. As for my music taste, the DJ was on point kicking out some old school favorite classic rock tunes so karaōke singers would’ve ruined my experience. A nice, happy regular crowd. Good service and traditional bar food. A nice visit overall.

My family and I always enjoy dining at the Captain’s Café. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is very good. I am partial to the cream of crab soup, but the light menu overall is very good. At night, it’s a little tough to hear with the bar area being so close to the dining area, but the atmosphere is good, so for light dining it’s not really a problem. During the sports times(O’s and Raven’s), the big screen tv’s are showing the play-by-play activities, which makes the Captain’s Café an enjoyable place for you and your partying friends. Overall, a solid place to visit with good dining and a friendly atmosphere.

This is a decent restaurant. Even though they specialize in seafood, they have excellent homemade pizza. The Maryland crab soup is a little too spicy, but tasty and the cream of crab soup is very good. They have steamed crabs, and sometimes they are good and sometimes not so good, but I think that is just the quality of the crabs that were caught that day. The steamed shrimp, which comes with onions and potatoes sprinkled with old bay are excellent. The crab cakes are average, but nothing special, and they have a nice selection of martinis. I feel the food here is better than By The Docks, and you never have to wait for a table. Give it a try. I do not think that you will be disappointed.

You can actually have a decent dining experience here. There is a private, quiet, candle lit, white tablecloth clad dining area at the rear of the bar area. The food was decent although slow in coming out of the kitchen. The menu seemed a bit lacking but most of the standard fare is present with an emphasis on seafood. I would go back again, as my last visit wasn’t really planned, we just refused to wait for a table at By the Docks and decided to give this place a go.
