Charming and cozy. Stopped by with some friends for an afternoon caffeine fix on a Saturday afternoon. Has a lovely, quintessential Middleburg interior with old oak floor and leather chairs. The service was very friendly-what a treat! This place serves a great cup of coffee. if you’re in the area, you won’t find a better cup for miles. Grab it here while you can. It’ll become your go-to spot whenever you’re in town.

I swung in here for a quick bite on my way back from Sky Meadows. The place itself is cute and warm and staff is generally pretty friendly. The sandwich I got(a Reuben) was fine; it’s a bit on the messy side so stock up on napkins, especially if you plan to eat it in the car. My issue, oddly, was with my drink. I ordered a café au lait which, for those not in the know, is brewed coffee and steamed milk. It’s not a complicated drink by any means, though it is one people don’t order very often. The girl I placed the order with asked if I wanted room for cream or milk in my coffee, which I initially wrote off as a habitual question. I looked at her a little funny and reminded her a ordered an au lait. By the time my sandwich was done I still had no drink so asked the barista who was actually making the beverages. Long story short, the girl placing the order apparently never passed on what I ordered or it got confused or something. I finally got my drink, but it shouldn’t be that hard. If you don’t know what someone is ordering, you really should ask for clarification!

I had to take one star off for the slow service, because it took 25 minutes for them to bring out my sandwich. But once they did, it was probably the best Reuben I’ve ever had. Not too greasy, not too heavy, great balance of ingredients. Inside was a bit crowded(probably due to the free wifi, there were more than a few laptops spread around), but the patio out front was lovely.

Great coffee and breakfast place. Fun place to sit and just people watch too! Very pet friendly too. The egg sandwiches are fantastic and the pastries are good too.

We stopped in for lunch and we were very disappointed with the food and service. After waiting for 30 minutes, the waitress brought out 3 out of the 4 sandwiches. My wife waited patiently for her food to come while other tables that were seated after us got their food ahead of her. She walked in to check on her food only to be treated rudely. I then walked in to check and was treated the same. The waitress finally came out with her sandwich and didn’t even apologize for the long wait. Another table next to us walked to Safeway to get food because they were waiting too long. We will not be going back.

It’s nice to have an inexpensive place in Middleburg that’s still high quality. I had the Mosby sandwich(Black Forest ham), which was served warm while I was sitting in the patio. The indoor area looks well appointed as well. They are open till 6PM on Sundays too, which seems unusually late for this area.

We came across Middleburg Common Grounds while we were walking around town looking for somewhere open to eat before going to a local winery. I came in not expecting much — I’m not a huge sandwich fan. But, after perusing the menu, I ordered the Federal and WOW — it was so tasty! Loved the service, the vibe, the food, and the value. If I lived in the area, I would definitely come here again :)

My roast beef salad was delicious and my husband loves his ham sandwich. I love the service they have a how fresh and crispy the salad was. Nice place to sit and eat. I love Middleburg so much and this is a good place to visit when you are in Middleburg.

I ran away to this little coffee house. I drove 20 minutes to find it and it was worth the drive. This place it literally in a house on the main street in Middleburg, VA. A Monday in the summer will bring a whole wealth of people. From my little corner, I think I have see representatives of all generations. The espresso is very smooth and almond milk is an option which is huge plus for me. And for those pet parents out there your pooch is allowed inside and outside on the patio. The patio is awesome for people watching but since VA is having a heat wave right now, I stayed inside. Breakfast is available all day long. Sandwiches are built to your liking. Choose the egg, then bread(or not), meats and/or veggies to make breakfast the way you like it. Lunch sandwiches are a huge variety and then buy local whenever possible. I really enjoyed my ciabatta sandwich. It was not huge but everything was incredibly fresh. I wish I was staying longer. I would not mind becoming a regular here.

Perfection. Fantastic coffee and delicious muffins — Morning Glory to be exact. Which. happen to be my absolute favorite. Lots of seating indoors & out — great location in downtown Middleburg and friendly staff. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area. Try the espresso :)

Walking into common grounds: I was very impressed with how it looked. It was warm and cozy. You felt like you were in an old historical house drinking a cup of joe. The coffees: They had basically any kind of coffee a person would order. They also have sandwiches, soups, etc. My thoughts: I ordered a caramel macchiato, and it came out pretty fast. Watched the barista make my drink, and the barista wasn’t very clean, didn’t clean espresso shot glasses, and steamed the milk too long. When you steam milk to long, it takes away the sweetness of the milk, and it burns all the fats and natural sweetness. The coffee wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what im used to. They had free wifi, music playing in the shop, and I will most likely come back if im on the area.

Can’t say enough great things about Common Grounds, esp if you’re a dog lover! Dogs are welcome inside, and free biscuits for them are in the counter with the milk and sugar. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the staff are gracious. The breakfast ciabatta are a great way to start the day.

Really like the local vibe here. It’s exactly what you might expect in the town of Middleburg. It’s warm & cozy and has all your favorites. It’s not big inside but when weather permits has ample outdoor seating. The floors are old oak as well as oak tables and chairs and give the place a down home warm comfortable feeling. I really like the recessed electric receptacles in the floor and you can enjoy a nice mellow soundtrack as you sip your beverage. The Wi-Fi is indeed free, it works and is fast and you don’t have to ask for a password. I had an excellent bold roast Summatra. They have everything you would want in a full serve coffee shop. They have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

I just had the best tuna sandwich ever. Delicious and unusual. One of the ingredients is chickpeas. The rough seeded roll was a perfect addition to the bread basket served lunch. Delightful outdoor porch and umbrella dotted patio. I found the wait staff informative and expedient. And to top it all off they are dog friendly. So my standard poodle had a place too.

Stopped in for brekkie and coffee. Coffee of the day was excellent, bagels fresh, ciabatta egg sandwich was delish, and the donuts were tasty! Cute ambiance and friendly staff! Will definitely be back!

I was in the area and wanted a place to sit down and enjoy lunch and this was the only decent place that was open on a Sunday afternoon. I had the turkey sandwich which was surprisingly really good. Howeverrrrrrrrr, I wasn’t able to enjoy my sandwich in peace because I had like 10 flies flying around me. No joke, there were probably over 20 flies just hanging out in the place. it was extremely gross and unappetizing for my meal. I seriously felt like I was the intruder stepping into their territory. Overall, I’d go back. The place was cute enough for a second chance. But never during the Summer. This place would be great for Fall and Winter.

Went here for a quick bite to eat yesterday. It’s a cute little coffee/sandwich shop located in Middleburg. I ordered the Washington, which was a roast beef sandwich. The sandwich came with a side of beans(in an olive oil mixture). It was all pretty good. The horseradish on the sandwich was a littleee overpowering. My complaint about this place would be the cleanliness. There were flies roaming around EVERYWHERE. Now, I understand it’s summer and it’s hard to keep the bugs out, but I am not lying when I say there were about 20 flies hovering around the trash can at the sugar/creamer counter. Maybe I’ll come back in the winter when the flies are gone.

We had lunch here yesterday(5⁄31) and it was a great choice. I’d read all of the Middleburg restaurant reviews and, man, they are harsh! It was hard to find a place to take a gamble on since every restaurant seems to have a few blistering reviews. To add to our challenges, we’d decided to bring both dogs and kids for our outing. Obviously that limited the selection somewhat, but we hoped Common Grounds would be okay. It was way, way better than okay. There is a nice patio full of tables with umbrellas(where we sat with our dogs and kids). Indoors there was nice, casual seating. We ordered inside and our lunches were brought to us. I am very finicky about meat when I order it(was vegetarian for a long time), but I ordered the citrus chicken salad sandwich and it was excellent. My husband’s turkey sandwich was made with roasted sliced turkey(not slimy). We each found something tasty on the menu. We enjoyed the selection of upscale sodas(would love to see birch beer). The Route 11 potato chips were a nice local touch. We’d gladly return.
