This place has the best pizza I’ve ever had! The food is good quality, and tastes just like home made. The staff is friendly and efficient. The regular customers are awesome! They have become like a second family to me and I enjoy coming here week after week!

Great pizza, could have ate the crust by itself. Piggy pizza was the best of three we ordered. Goat cheese on the spinach salad was so smooth and to top it off, the two fine crafted IPAs on tap made it a perfect dinner.

Ok so since I read some reviews and people mentioned Pepe’s let me be the first to say I DONOT like their pizza. You talk about soggy lousy tasting pizza. Come to 850 for real wood fired pizza. A bit expensive but worth it. The meatballs alone are worth coming in for if you are an Italian. I like the salads and suggest dressing on the side. The soups are great and they give you the same cooked dough as they use for the pizza which is VERY tasty. I agree that there should be a person in charge of seating, but if that is the biggest problem go somewhere else. I love this place and come here frequently. So be prepared to pay slightly more, wait to find a seat and then have your order take a bit longer. Again if that doesn’t suit you find another restaurant less time for the customers who like it here to wait!

I’ve been to 8 Fifty a few times in the past year and it’s always been good. The pizzas are all 12″ personal size and they are enough for an adult appetite. My favorite is the pizza with caramelized onions and have had it twice, I also had the sausage pizza and that was good as well. I also had a salad and have no complaints. The service has been good each time I was there. This place is good but it’s around $ 13 – 14 per pizza so if you’re going with two people expect to shell out $ 35 – 45 if you’re going to have beers or wine.

We got meatballs as an appetizer, close to mine… really good! Popeye pizza for me, I loved it. My daughter thought it was spicy. The Jagger and The Bufalo were both wonderful as well. Would definitely come back

This is a well deserved honor for 8-fifty. Whenever we have gone there the service and food are both top notch. The ingredients are always fresh and flavorful and there is a wide variety of specialty items to choose from. The pizzas are original and tasty and the pastas and wings are excellent. Barbara A.

8 Fifty was just voted the number 1 pizza in the Woodbury/Middlebury area. I totally agree with the number 1 choice. 8Fifty is not only the best pizza place in the Woodbury/Middlebury area, it is one of the best pizza places in the state. The only competition would be from the three heavyweights in New Haven(Modern, Pepe’s, and Sally’s). What sets 8Fifty apart from other pizzerias is the unique style of their pizzas. They just aren’t like other pizzas. Their pizzas seem more upscale with mouthwatering flavor and the freshest ingredients possible. I rank the quality of a restaurant by not only how good the food tastes, but also how much I crave going back there. I am always craving 8Fifty. As I write this I am thinking that I need to go there tonight. Yes, it is decided. I am going tonight. I’ll take the Harley and an order of wings.

My wife and I swung by here again to eat dinner on Saturday, 10÷24÷14. My wife had a salad and I had the pasta fagioli. We both had pizza for our main course. Once again the service was bad. The specials were not explained to us until we asked. Then when we were told about the specials they were not explained. Another waitress was practically waiting on us because our waiter was not around. The pizza, again, was just ok for me. The star are their soups so far for me but I will go back to try their pasta dishes. The food was the same for me but service still lacking and should be better by now.

My wife and I came in the food was good pizza was burnt and very small to expensive for a personal pizza. oh no that’s the only size., over priced for the pizza. People next to us waited just as long., 40 minutes. The old lady looked like she didnt want to be there and the old man was so busy talking to a regular customer that didnt even look at the oven until he pulled out ours. Waiter brought over our burnt pizza. The waiter was so sorry we asked for it to be made again and he said it was going to be a while again. these folks must think they are really something. YOURNOT !!! go anywhere else unless your a regular you get Grap feel sorry for the staff they all looked really unhappy for sure.

Back again! The wings awesome! Tonight I ordered a pizza with vodka sauce, wood fired mushroom topped with prosciutto! It was a party in my mouth. Fantastic as always! Great friendly owner, staff & service. The freshest ingredients as well.

Great pizza! I love the thin-crust Margarita. Also be sure to get the tomato florentine soup when it’s a special! One pizza is plenty big enough for two people. I’d skip the cannoli — they’re pricy and sold individually with pretty mediocre ricotta filling. Other than that, it’s an awesome place for a casual dinner.

I decided to try this place out a few weeks ago and it was a very big disappointment. My husband and I went on a Wednesday evening and we were not greeted by a host and we were not sure whether or not to seat ourselves and we stood there for a solid five minutes before someone got us. Yes, the staff ended up being very friendly but the waitress took forever to come to our table each time. There were not many options on the menu and it takes way too long to come out. We were not happy with their taste of the food either! It was very bland and burned to a crisp. We were looking to spend under an hour here and it ended up taking nearly an hour and a half just to get the food on the table. Way too expensive as well. Not a good experience.

Pasta Fagioli was almost exactly like my grandmothers. It was amazing. Wings were the best I’ve had recently. Great little place!

This is my second time at 8 Fifty and I just love it. I wish it was closer. It’s very hard for me to like a meatball other than my mother’s. I’m very hyper-critical which I’m sure many Italian-American children are. I’d even go so far as to say, I’m snobbish. That’s not to say that I haven’t eaten a sub par meatball grinder when the craving hits. Anyways, I can’t believe I’m saying this… but I really love these meatballs. Like, really. That’s not to say that they’re better than my mothers because that’s just a laughable concept, but they’re really good. The sauce is fresh and tomatoey, the meatballs are soft and you can taste a bit of char on them. Possibly they’re baked prior to going into the sauce? Always a plus. The wings… theeeeee wings. I like my wings crispy… sometimes almost the point of hockey puck crispy… I was aprehensive of ordering oven baked wings that take 25 minutes to cook… like, till these be worth it? Will they be fatty and soggy and just make me mad? HECKNO! These are awesome!!! We were fighting over the last one. The sauce carmelized on the outside and made them charred in some spot well deliciously sticky and tangy in others. We ordered the last batch at 7 pm and people stared at us in anger. GETTHESEASSOONASYOUSITDOWN! The pizza. Delicious, wood fired, easy to make your own combo or get one of the premades off the list. I’ve yet to be disappointed… Yet, I’m a fan of the charred wood fired bits so if you’re not, this may not be for you. The service: chatty, cheerful, knowledgeable and not too overbearing. The only downside? They’re not open for lunch! BOO!

The last time I had pizza this good I was in Italy. In fact, every time I’ve had pizza this good, I was in Italy. It was our first time here, and Mark and Maria, who talked to me as they made pizza, are pizza geniuses! Ate the meatballs too, which were amazing and then I took a pizza home because I had to taste one more of their special pies and couldn’t bear the thought of not eating this pizza again soon.

Hit this place just as it was opening and grabbed a seat at the L-shaped bar which seats 9. Was quickly and warmly greeted. Reviewed the beer options which were a disappointment after reading some of the other reviews. I realize the term«good beer“is relative… they have 8 tap handles which are heavily dominated by Sam Adams and Blue moon. The locally brewed porter was above average and enjoyable. Vino selection was a much better option. Food wise, I stuck with the«today’s special» menu. The tomato florentine soup was outstanding while the modified Molly pie was tasty as well. The meatballs on the pie were perfect. The bar and surrounding area were completely full with regulars by the time I left… Overall, a nice local joint with good food and service. Glad I came…

The big draw of this location is the wood-fired pizza. They only offer one size and it’s a 12″ personal size which is $ 13 with sausage and pepper on it, so it’s not cheap here, and while the pizza is good, I wasn’t blown away by it. You can get a full pizza at another restaurant for a few bucks more and with pizza restaurants so common in this area, competition is fierce. Atmosphere-wise, it’s nicely decorated and clean, with lots of movie pictures on the wall from classics like The Godfather. The service was pretty good, the waitress was friendly and was able to chat with us. We had some wings as an appetizer and they were ok, but portion-wise a bit small for the price. The bar here is small, cozy would be a good word to describe it, but they’ve got only good beers on tap. No junk like BL, all good beers, including some local beers from Cavalry Brewing in Oxford. I will definitely give them props for that. If you must have a low-quality beer, they do have them in bottle-form, but I’m glad that they only have good stuff on tap. I feel the price is the main detractor from this place. The wood-fired pizza fills a niche, but with only one small size available, I think it becomes more of a novelty than anything else.

Let me just start by saying that the food here is AMAZING. Seriously, soup, apps, salads, 5 stars. And the pizza is possibly the best I’ve ever tasted. Amazing crust, toppings that were so obviously fresh that it made the whole slice seem like a little slice of heaven. And the prices are reasonable, and we loved the beer/wine selection. Why the 3 stars? Service, service, service people… or a lack therof. I’m not saying the people weren’t trying, I think they were. they just aren’t really good at what they do; especially when multi-tasking is required. Timing of food delivery was off, obvious confusion at times. Don’t get me wrong, the service wasn’t HORRIBLE. We waited a while and seemed abandoned at times, but we’ve had way worse. The food more than made up for it, but the service was notably bad enough to turn this otherwise 5 star review into a 3 star review.

There’s finally great pizza in the tribury area! My wife and I are pizza connoisseurs who go to great lengths to find good pizza places on our travels, it’s nice to have one in our own backyard. 8 Fifty has great wood fired pizza, note they only come in one size, which is great for my wife and I since we each get our own with our own toppings. The pizza style here closer to authentic pizza you’d see in Italy vs. your typical fare you find in most pizza joints around here. We bring our infant daughter here all the time and they are very accommodating. They have a nice bar and a bonus for me is the ever changing beer selection. My favorite pizza is the red pizza: The Maggie My wife’s favorite is the white pizza: Brit Be advised they’re closed on Mondays!
