Nice place with great view of Otter Creek. Great food! Friendly. My bf & I have lunch here frequently. Can be noisy inside at times. It is a small area. Outdoors is great, weather permitting! Worth a visit!

We’ve have had wonderful meals at Storm Café! The last meal we had was superb. We all ordered the Tuna special which was absolutely fabulous. Our server was super personable(Lily) and the whole experience was really special. I highly recommend this restaurant!

It is called a café but there are white tablecloths on the tables and candles. There is no bar to sit at. The view outside is of the creek which is nice. The entrees were good but overpriced. $ 25 – 30 entrée shouldn’t look like the vegetables from the freezer section. The chocolate cake was dry and Hershey’s syrup was on it, not homemade chocolate sauce.

Vegetarians, don’t bother. Prior to the current horrendous menu change, I would have given them a four star, based on service, taste, and vegetarian selection.

Has lunch here yesterday –takeout and it was delicious! I had the turkey guacamole and the hubs had the chicken cheese steak. We also ordered cups of soup, potato(so creamy and flavorful) and the soup de jour which was tomato. Really a quaint spot and we highly recommend it.

Eating on the summer porch by the Otter Creek is a lovely experience. The food here is decent, perhaps exceptional for Middlebury. I enjoyed the potato garlic soup. The service when I was there, however, was excruciatingly slow.

Well done storm café. A little hard to find down a side street but pleasant hard working staff and a nice selection of soups, salads, pasta and entrees. We had the soups(potato garlic was very good), carbonara with chicken, cod piccata and the prime rib(special on Friday/sat). All very well prepared with a nice selection of wines & drafts on offer. Banana chocolate pie for dessert hit the spot.

Great lunch. We had the daily special soup(curried parsnip), simple and delicious. I had a winter salad, others had quiche, all excellent. I had a local IPA from Burlington, outstanding. Good service, good seating. Highly recommended.

What a cute place! They have a small but distinguished lunch menu with the options of mixing soup, salad, and/or sandwich together as a special. Excellent portions and fresh ingredients. Friendly staff and beautiful view of the water if sitting outdoors.

Food is awesome. Went for lunch, but can’t wait to try breakfast too. Lucky enough to get a table right on Otter Creek with a view of the falls, beautiful! Can’t wait to go back!

It’s been a few months since I ate here, but I suppose that the memory of a wonderful experience and the desire to return again says it all. Friendly people, a locals flavor, a charming setting and a great breakfast /lunch make this is a Middlebury standard.

Delicious. We had the duck with risotto, PEI mussels app, and roasted red pepper mozzarella ravioli. Everything was great!

Very good food, especially for a college town. But, it’s New England, and the food is usually way above average up there. Massive portions. Excellent entrees, fine bread, great soup, decent salad, in a nebulous American/European/Italian/French mash-up style. If you’re up in Middlebury, this is where to eat.

This was one of the most wonderful lunches I’ve had in a while. The potato soup alone is a reason to go. But all the other options were delicious, too. I had the soup and half sandwich deal and a citizens cider. The help was very good. Attentive but not domineering. Prices were reasonable. It was very crowded when we got in there, but the staff handled it all very well. We were seated quickly.(It was about 12:15 on a Saturday.) By a bit after 1 it was nearly empty again.

This was our first time here as we were passing through. We came near the end of lunch but they didn’t rush us. Both of our meals were good and although many of their dishes have onions my wife was able to find something. Her quiche was well prepared with a small side of greens. I ordered the special eggs Benedict and the portion was huge with a small selection of greens. A surprisingly good piece of watermelon(for the winter) hash browns and two perfectly cooked eggs with prime rib and avocado. The hollandaise was well done. Very tasty. We did not try dessert. Would live to come back in the warmer weather to sit outside by the Otter Creek which seemed more like a rushing river to me!

House special Omelette with Crab meat(actual crab meat), spinach and cream cheese! Friendly, warm atmosphere. Tables close to the kitchen give us a feeling like eating home-cooked meal straight out of the stove. Secret little place in town!

This is the best lunch/brunch eatery in Middlebury. Sure, there are other restaurants and delis, but Storm Café has managed to achieve consistently tasty, high-quality food that eludes most other places in the area. Oops, I forgot American Flatbread, which is also very good and consistent, but only open for lunch on Saturdays. Storm Café’s outside dining space is a nice option when weather permits. Consistently good sandwiches, salads, soups and brunch are what keep me coming back to Storm over the other eateries in the area. The fact everything is served fresh and not stale and with premium ingredients, differentiates it from its competition. Middlebury does not have haute cuisine options. The closest it gets is the Swift House Inn for dinner and that can sometimes be hit or miss. In terms of consistently high-quality brunch and lunch food, the Storm Café is really it. For other good food options in the area there is always Café Provence in Brandon(about 30 minutes south), Mary’s Restaurant in Bristol, about 30 minutes northeast. I don’t include the new Middlebury burger joint that was started by the owners of the Black Sheep Bistro, because although I love the setting and décor, the food quality isn’t consistent.

We were delighted to find this café on a cloudy day in August. It had covered seating outside and we were able to watch the small river, ducks, and birds as we ate. The food was consistently delicious, attractive, and fresh. The owner/hostess and our waitress were both friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The chef is the other owner and his menu and specials were among the best we have seen for the price. My husband ordered the hamburger on a brioche. He seems to judge many restaurants by their hamburgers and this was the best! I had a southwestern omelette and squash soup which were both delicious. The quiche had excellent crust and flavorful«innards».
