What a charming little spot! Comfortable King size mattress, free $ 5 gift card to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast which is across the street and a welcome bag with fruit, water and granola bars(what a nice gesture!). There’s flowers and plants everywhere and the room was spotless. The bed sheets and towels smelled so good and the bathroom sparkled. I loved our stay at Bay Willows Inn.

Don’t be fooled by the pretty sign. This is the only new thing about this place. I think desi and Lucy stayed here in the 1950’s. Surprisingly it was comfortable and clean. The whole arrangement of the room was inconvenient with tiny bath– shower combo and nowhere outside the bathroom to do your toilette. Water was hot and plentiful. Sitting was in an anteroom which had a door that had to be closed to access the bath. Stay if you must and want to save money. Not a place for a special weekend

I’m pretty sure we got the last hotel room in and around Newport this Saturday. Place was cheap compared to all the other spots in the area. Super friendly couple working at the front desk. He explained some of the rooms are a little dated but everything was clean and the shower pressure was dynamite and eased my hangover. We got goody bags and Dunkin gifts cards. Would totally stay again.

We chose this place for a girls weekend getaway to Newport because of price, and availability. We happened to plan the weekend before knowing that it was coinciding with the Jazz Festival, which explains why everything else was booked up, and this place had only 2 rooms left at the time we booked it. It was the cheapest we could find, but still pretty pricy(although not by Newport standards). The location is great, it’s a 5 minute drive to put you right in the middle of Newport. Easy to find, ample parking, clean and safe parking lot and surrounding area. We had Room 19, which had it’s own cute little front porch area. The dead-bolt lock on the door didn’t work — the main lock on the doorknob did work, but I tend to prefer the added security of a deadbolt when staying in hotels. The room itself was clean, but definitely had a 1970’s vibe from the walls, carpet, curtains, dark wood furniture, fixtures and the bathroom(black and pink tile!) They also tried really hard for the nautical theme to go along with the beach theme… didn’t always pull it off. Speaking of pulling it off, my friend closed off the door that separates the«foyer» of the room from the sleeping area and the doorknob literally came off in her hand when she pulled it to try to get it open again. The staff were nice and friendly. We checked in around midnight and the gentleman waited to give us the key instead of just leaving it for us like he had said he would. Although, this could have been because we originally we bringing 2 dogs with us, and changed our mind last minute so he may have wanted to make sure he didn’t have to charge us for dogs. He gave us a little«goody» bag with an apple, bottle of water, cookies, Starburst, and 2 Dunkin Donut gift cards for $ 5.00 which was unexpected and a nice surprise! They had an area set up in the lobby with coffee and tea. The shower worked well, water was hot and a good pressure. The towels were larger than most cheap hotel towels, and there were extras in the closet, along with extra pillows… there was a lovechair in the«foyer» that could pull out to sleep one more person, so the extras were probably for if there were a 3rd person, but only having 2 people, we enjoyed the extras being there. No hair dryer in the room, but the front desk ran one over to us when we asked for one. The phone in the room is the old school Conair phones, and they don’t work… also a bit entertaining. The rooms are very dated, yes… but they’re clean and comfortable. And what are you in Newport for? Probably not to stay in your hotel room all day… It served it’s purpose as a place to sleep each night, and to take a shower. My friend and I are not very high-maintenance and we saw it as an adventure, and really enjoyed ourselves. More«prissy» people may have problems with this place. For future visits, I would probably look around at my other options, but if it came down to having to stay here again, I totally would.

I stayed at the Bays Willow Inn while attending a wedding at the Glen Manor before heading to Block Island. I would probably not stay here again. While the staff is VERY friendly and the rooms appear clean and we’ll stocked, the rooms smell old and damp. This place needs the carpets pulled and replaced. I certainly didn’t expect much for the price but because of the staff I wanted to like this place more than I can. The mildew was enough to make me congested in the morning and I didn’t linger once I woke up… i was back on the road by 7 a.m. I give it three stars because of the staff and low price. If they would clean up the grounds and change the carpets in the rooms this would be a great dive near Newport. FYI, right across the street is Bossman Burgers… check it out on Unilocal… i think you will like.

The motel itself was fine. It was clean enough, good location, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is that, having booked through hotels dot com, I wound up paying almost $ 150 for one(Saturday) night. Granted I should have been a little more savvy but come on.

For $ 89 a night on a Saturday night, you can’t complain. Especially since the next cheapest thing is $ 50 more. This is a bare bones place — a place to lay your head at night. I would have given it 4 stars for being so clean and not that far from Newport(although not walking distance), but there was a motel kind of smell in our room that brought the review down to 3 stars. Overall, it was very clean and spacious(even had a sitting area with microwave and fridge). There are also bikes you can borrow although I’m not sure where you would take them since the road to Newport is 4 miles or so(on the road, not sidewalk or path).

This place may not look like an amazing spot from the outside but really it is a great little hotel! I stayed there recently while in town for a wedding and it is VERY clean. VERY clean! This comes from someone who at 9 traveled with her own sheets due to a fear of germs(seriously– my mother had to wrap me up like a burrito because of my need to be protected from germs). Bay Willows doesn’t have all the frills of some hotels but can I again mention the clean factor? They’ve got a little fridge in the room, a microwave, and a coffee maker– you can get a hair dryer and iron from the front office(you can also grab any of the hundreds of brochures for the attractions in the office as well). There was a full sized ironing board in my room as well as a fan(the AC keeps it cool though). Oh, and they’ve got free wireless internet. I wasn’t expecting that so it was great! The guy in the front office was super nice and very helpful. This is a great spot for people who want to use a hotel for showering and sleeping! I’d stay there again for sure!
