Shana was great! I took my 9 year old son for something other than the cookie cutter barber shop cuts he normally gets. He likes to wear his hair a bit longer anyway. He had a blast in what he called the«fanciest salon ever»! Shana listened to us closely about the cut he desired. She was patient and friendly with my son who chatted and giggled the whole time. We will definitely return:-)

I had an amazing first experience here with Danielle, my hair stylist. I wanted an ombré/balayage and she did it wonderfully. I’ve never been more impressed! I planned to have it touched up a few months later with a little more blonde. About two weeks before my touch up appointment I received a call saying Danielle had left to pursue other interests, and was asked if I wanted to book an appointment with another stylist. I was disappointed about Danielle leaving but I said it would be okay to make another appointment. They booked an appointment with Bre. Bre is… a nice person. Very nice personality. But she completely messed up my ombré! The highlights she put in were so noticeable, there were actual lines in my hair… it was awful. When she blow dried my hair she literally pulled my hair so much that my scalp was on fire. It was so painful! She’s not gentle at all. Please don’t ask for her if you want to get your hair colored or dried. Needless to say I was very unhappy with the results that I contacted Danielle. Turns out she’s at another place in Southington and she fixed my hair! She reduced a lot of the linage that was going on in my hair. I’m sorry EG, but you’ve lost a client. I will now be going to Danielle which I should have done in the first place. This review would have gotten one star, but since I had an amazing first experience with Danielle I had to give it three stars. Updated: the owner, Georgi, reached out to me to apologize for the quality of my service and will be refunding me the money I spent. I am grateful that business owners such as Georgi are mindful of their customers’ happiness. Thank you for offering to correct the mistake. It will not be forgotten.

This business acted extremely unprofessional. Due to their actions, our wedding party is now without a salon to perform hair and makeup services, with less than a month to go to our wedding. I would recommend not attempting to book their services for weddings, or you may end up in a situation like us, with the most important day of your life. We were interested in booking the salon for hair and makeup for the wedding party for our upcoming wedding. When we called the business on Nov 22, 2014 we were told that they we available for our wedding date and time of 1:00PM on Jan 17, 2015, and that they would reserve the date for 7 days. Beyond the initial 7 days, we would need to place a $ 200 deposit to reserve the date. We were in contact with Shana, who we were informed is in charge of booking wedding parties. The very next day on Nov 24, 2014, we attempted to contact the salon regarding paying the deposit to reserve our date indefinitely. We were told that Shana was not available, and we left a message for her. We attempted to contact her again the next day on Nov 25, 2014, after not receiving a call back that same day. Again we were told she was not available and again left a message. That week was also Thanksgiving, and we never received a return call before the holiday. That Saturday, we contacted the salon again, the last date that our day was reserved before the deposit needed to paid. Again we had to leave a message for Shana, and were told she would be in contact with us either on Wednesday, Dec 3rd or Thursday, Dec 4th, both of which were beyond our reservation deadline. Shana did not contact us by Dec 4th, so we attempted the Salon again on Dec 5th, and left another message. We finally got put in contact with Shana on Dec 6th, and was told us our date was now gone. She then stated that she had not gotten any of our messages until Dec. 5th. She also stated that that date had been perviously booked since October, despite being told it was available originally on Nov 22! This business failed repeatedly to contact us and stringed us along about being able to use their services. If the date was already taken since October, they should have told us the date was reserved at the beginning or Shana was just lying regarding the reservation. They also should have contacted us at the repeated messages we left. Either the receptionist was not passing messages along, or Shana was purposely ignoring our calls. Overall, this business acted extremely unprofessional, and we have no salon with just a month until our wedding. I would say avoid this place if you are looking to book a wedding appointment.

Part 2 of my review: On 7/18, I didn’t even make an appointment, I walked into the salon and asked to see Mattie or a manager. The receptionist says, «Okay, I’ll get someone.» But she never left the front desk. She keeps looking at me and looking nervously around the salon. 10 minutes later, I go back up and she’s like«okay, okay, I’ll go get someone»…not sure what she was waiting for. Did she think I would leave if she waited long enough? I see Mattie and tell her my hair was still gray. Her response? «So what do you want me to do?» Ummmm fix it or give me my money back? She re-colors my hair while my poor husband sits and waits for me. She covers the gray(second time is a charm) and I leave still feeling annoyed. She’s level 3 now, but couldn’t tell that my gray wasn’t covered before I left the night before? Or could tell but didn’t really care? She also tells me that maybe another product would cover it better, and that she would make a note in my file for the next time. I also realized after I washed my hair that she had put layers in my hair that I neither requested nor wanted. Really? A couple of months go by and I have the familiar unsettled feeling. To go back to EG or figure out something else? I hate change, I hate going to new places. At least she got the general color tone right, last try, here we go on 11÷2÷13. I tell her I think we should use the product she talked about that would have better gray coverage as that’s my main concern. I also said I wanted to do single process color because I was not loving the brassy tone to the highlights. She says she can do better, let’s keep doing the highlights. Ugh, to find a stylist who will listen to me? So I let her do her thing, but I specifically say I do not want layers in my hair. She proceeds to cut my hair and dry it straight(I swear, I am this woman’s barbie doll head that she just does what she wants with). I didn’t see highlights at all, she tells me she darkened it up this time. Yay for not brassy, boo for paying for highlights I don’t see? Oh and yippee, her prices went up, AGAIN. Fast forward only 3 weeks… I see my gray hair coming through already! So much for the different product with better coverage? And the highlights are back to brassy. I am beyond annoyed. I fume on it for a few weeks and then say to myself, they have a 100% guarantee on their website. They MUST care about their clients. I reach out to the owner via email to share my concerns. I think I need someone with more experience who can handle my color and cut my hair as I ask for it to be cut. I receive an email back from«owner» who says the semi permanent color will not cover the gray for 8 — 10 weeks(then why were you using it) and that I might be a better fit for Ashley. Maybe that would be better for my «beauty budget». I look online and Ashley has been a stylist for less than 5 months. Yeah… NOT what I am looking for, again I feel like the people at EG don’t HEAR what the customer is saying. I want experience. They offer up their newest stylist. I respond to that effect and obviously offended«owner»(who was unwilling to sign her name — there are two owners — who am I talking to??) «Time in the business isn’t an indication to talent and training… I am sorry that you do not trust us as owners to fit you with a great stylist that we feel will take care of your needs… Good luck to you in the future.» So they don’t care about my concerns. They«fit» me with Mattie and I gave it three tries and it didn’t work out. Ashley might be great, but then again, if she’s so wonderful why haven’t they advanced her to a level 2 or 3 stylist? I responded back with what I thought would be more productive… having one of the owners meet with me and look at my actual hair and then talk to whatever stylist with me about what would work best. Just 5 minutes out of their day to put my mind at ease. But the email was ignored and that was over a week ago so it’s obvious they have put in what little effort they were willing to exert and that’s that. So I’m taking it to Unilocal.Take care if you go here. The prices are high and the services are not worth it. If my voice isn’t heard and re-work is necessary every time, then it’s time for me to find somewhere where quality and customer service is more of a focus. Where a stylist will give me what I want instead of treating me like a little barbie doll that they’re experimenting on. I say back to EG what they said to me — Good luck in the future.

Got my wife a Gift Certificate here for her birthday, and that gift is headed for the top of the all-time best gift list… She loves feeling«everyday gorgeous», and seems to look for reasons to visit. Whatever they’re doing, they do it very well!

Shana is great! I’ve been coming here for quite some time and I’ve never had a consistently good experience anywhere else. Highly personalized and a great staff. They really make you feel at home and want to make your service go as perfectly as possible

Went for my second hair cut and went with another hair stylist. I think she was a better match for me. The cut so far is cute… I will update it after it’s grown out a few weeks to comment on ease of styling it myself. *** Original rating: 3 stars. Went for my first hair cut at EG Salon because I heard about the 30% off first services with them. The cut didn’t come out how I wanted. It gave me a mullet look, like two very obvious chunky levels of hair that I usually walk out with after a not so good haircut. The hair was not blended at all. The ensuing cut was hard to style where one side would flip out no matter how much styling I gave it and the other side would sit flat. I called the salon, they invited me to come back for a touch-up, but seriously, if you can’t get it right the first time I sit in the chair, I’m not going to waste my time. I’m going back tonight for a second cut with another stylist and will increase, maintain, or decrease my rating upon that experience. The space is very nice, clean, and bright. I felt very welcomed there upon walking in. Receptionist was very friendly, too.

Great staff at this place they are all friendly and quite interested in pleasing you. Clean and welcoming! I had my hair done and a facial. I was a new customer and they gave me 30% off on both services. They do this for all new customers. The facial is Dermalogica and I have had this at other salons but this one was the best. Relaxing and way less expensive here for the same facial. I will return and try their other services.

I moved from the West Coast a few years ago and have had a really hard time finding a salon as good as the one I used to go to. I have been on the lookout for someone willing to be a little more creative and less«townie», if you know what I mean. This is that salon. I read the reviews for this salon and decided to give it a try. Called the front desk to make an appt and told the women I spoke with that I didn’t want a «mommy» cut, which is what I got from my last guy(it wasn’t a bad cut, just not what I was looking for). She totally understood and put me with Kim by the coming weekend. She sat down with me and asked some great questions about what I was looking for and what I could do every day. I told her that I was looking for someone willing to take some chances and she was pretty excited. Things I like best about this salon: they do a LOT of continuing education. This is really good if you are looking for more current styles or coloring. The salon is very well thought out and offers many services beyond haircuts. New customers get a discount, so tell them I sent you and go see Kim if you go. She’s amazing! I usually wait a few days to see if I like a cut and this one is great. Just what I was looking for. Definitely will go back and will recommend this place to others – possibly even the husband. Easy parking behind the salon and it’s a beautiful space.

Georgi, Elli and the EG Salon crew are one in a million. I have been going to Georgi for over 20 years. Always up on the latest and greatest techniques and care insures that you will be well taken care of whether it is a cut, color, mani, pedi, facial or massage. I would not for one minute dream of going to another salon when I am so well taken care of. I look forward to my appointments with peace and relaxation out of my busy day

I had no power and a job interview last week and I called to ask for an emergency shampoo and blow-dry. Shana at EG Salon dropped everything to help me out and let me know they were giving free shampoos and blow-dries to people who had no power. She was so nice and she did an amazing job! This salon seems new and is very clean and everyone there was so nice to me. I highly recommend Shana and EG Salon.
