What a great place! The owner was beyond friendly and definitely passionate about good Italian food. I bought a beautiful pork roast wrapped in pancetta as well as some wonderful homemade sausage. Will be back for many more delihbts like porchetta and braciole.

This is now the second time we purchased cold cuts for our family Anitpasto from the Pork Store and they were absolutely horrible!!. We have also purchased fresh mozzarella and found two long hairs in the cheese. The cold cuts were cut so thick you could have grilled the slices on the grilled. Disgusting!!! They over charged us and did not provide a receipt. I sent a family member to pick up the cold cuts and I feel completely taken advantage of. The families Christmas meal was RUINED !!! This is place is a disgrace!!! Shame on you crooks.

I live in middletown for over a year and i have just noticed the italian store. I’ve walked by it once but never really thought to scope it out further until my coworker raved about this place. Also i looked on Unilocal and all the reviews are positive. This place reminds me of little italy in monroe. They have hot/cold sandwiches, prepared food, fresh cheeses and breads, etc… I met the owner of the store. What a nice man he is. He’s so devoted to his customers. It comes so naturally for him. You can tell he loves people and loves what he does. He gives samples of everything. Everything was amazing! The balsamic glaze and fresh mozz were my fav. So glad i found out about this place. I wanna try his marinara sauce next! The only thing i dont like is the parking lot… Lots of big deep pot holes. Be careful!

I had a great meatball parm here. They give you some mozzarella while you wait and are very eager to tell you about what they make. I would love to come back here and try some of their other sandwiches and sausages. And definitely their mozzarella. Very pleasant people. If you are in the area it’s worth a try.

Autentica cucina Italiano is was what John and his crew provide everyone that walks thru the doors of Famous Deli-Licious Italian Pork Store in Middletown, NY. Arthur Avenue, Little Italy — forgetaboutit — just make it your business to stop by and get treated like a King by John. A step back in time to Calabria — for the last dozen years this joint never fails to tantalize the palate only to make you yearn for more. The stories behind the food is a good as the taste. So mangiare bene i miei amici

When we were opening our middletown office a few years ago, I ate here so much my girlfriend banned me from visiting the place. You go in for just a sandwich and come out with Mozzarella balls, fried zucchini flower fritters, raviolis and sausage. Its homemade Italian goodness. And in fall they had a fried Pumpkin sandwich which was awesome.

Food: This place brings you back to Italy. They have amazing options from hot food made fresh every day to beautiful sandwiches made from their homemade mozzarella and cured meats. The owner is very hospitable and welcoming. I recommend to try the meatballs, it’s amazing. They are soft moist and packed with flavor — not your dry miserable meatballs. Brew: They don’t serve beer but they have awesome Italian drinks like the Manhatten Special carbonated coffee.

Went back just now to pick up sausage for lasagna and marinated mozzarella. Very friendly staff — gave me a free sample of zucchini flower fritter, and they were so good I walked out with a pound of them!

Located in the most depressing parking lot /strip mall one could imagine, but the sandwiches are actually pretty decent. Legit Italian-American fare.

This is the BEST deli in Middletown… W/o a doubt! They have the greatest sandwiches. From eggplant, lemon chicken, chicken parm or cold cut sandwiches always made fresh and with the best bread! I am addicted to their fried pumpkin bolgnese and their marinated mozzarella balls! The homemade balsamic is awesome… On anything seriously! Everything is fresh and tastes great! No BS if you want good food. This is the place to go! Every time I go there I feel the love they have put into this family business and I applaud them for being there for so many years! John, Michael and the whole gang there are great people who always make you feel welcomed and appreciated!

I am not from the area and came here on a reccomdation from co-workers. Thwy said it was pricey buy really good. With it being back in a strip mall that does not have a lot going for it i was pleasantly surprised. The items I picked were really good. I had the stuffed fried zucchini flowers and the stuffed bread with sausage and pepperoni. I was told they make the sausage in house. Everything was amazing! Like someone else said they are also big on samples. I tried a made that morning mozzarella ball. WOW! I have never had it so fresh or so good. I will return next time I am in town!

So I haven’t felt compelled to re-review this place until today, and unfortunately I don’t have a positive reason. I’ve actually started to go to Deli-Licious more over the last few months due to V&J – my go to deli over in Monroe-closing unexpectantly due to a fire. The supposedly great sausage turned out to be merely okay; far too fatty and/or reliant on seasonings depending on the variety. The other offerings were similarly mediocre and tend to be overpriced. I’ve always suspected that a lot of people rave about this place due more to home town appeal than the actual food, and that has mostly held true. 2 stars really was a fitting rating overall, and my family and I went here regularly when we needed to and couldn’t get supplies from Brooklyn or elsewhere. The other week, I went in to grab some stuff for a lunchtime antipasto platter for Thanksgiving. The store was pretty dead with 2 other customers, but then again it was the day before Thanksgiving. I got a shleppy looking, large guy and started giving him my order. I started with 1⁄5 lb of the homemade soppressata and he interrupted me, stating that he could only do a full or half link. A lot of Italian delis either sell homemade stuff by the half link or full, so while I didn’t need that much, getting it wasn’t a big deal; it came out to a half pound. I then asked for a 1⁄5 lb of Boars Head salami(for my Mom) and ¼ lb of proscuitto di Parma; I then watched this guy cut a ½ lb of salami. When I questioned him on it, he said I asked for ½ lb and starting arguing with me. I was starting to get the picture at this point; a lot of Italian delis do things like this to take advantage of customers, and usually when you call them on it, they either just smile or feign ignorance. This guy was extremely defensive and declared that the lowest the store would go is ¼ lb(no signs about this anywhere). I okayed that, and thus he removed some salami… down to 1⁄3 lb before snapping at me about the amount of proscuitto. At this point it was ridiculous and I should’ve just left, but I asked him again what he was doing; this fat slob then had the nerve to ask if I just wanted to go elsewhere. My answer of course was yes, I told him that he was an absolute joke and walked out. I know some of this sounds picky because I was buying small quantities, but the store was dead and that shouldn’t matter to begin with. The customer service was inexcusable, especially in an Italian deli. If a salumeria can’t deal with a small order, then why would I give it a large one? Apparently getting together a small antipasto platter wasn’t worth this jackass’ time. Given his reaction, I cannot believe that he only misheard me; I was not rude at all to him. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter and I’ve wasted enough time on this place already. Deli-licious, your food isn’t good enough to justify the high prices, and definitely not to put up with this kind of bullshit.

Sorry Famous Deli-Licious Italian Pork Store, but I just can’t rave about you today. I’ve been in and out of this deli over the past ten years. Mostly my experience has been drift in, admire the small but over-filled store full of Italian goodies, glance at the prices, blanch, and drift right back out. I finally bought something last year, a package of black squid ink pasta from the shelf. I have to say the young man working that day was very nice and helpful recommending that I prepare the pasta with a good calamari sauce, which turned out great. Finally today, I walked in with a coupon I’d gotten in the mail a week and a half ago, ready to finally sample their cooked fares. I was told the coupon was expired… three days ago… really? But I just got it. You can’t just honor it? Okay… well I buck up and decide not to quit anyway. I get a rice ball and the zucchini flower fritters which I’ve always wanted to try. That and a soda…$ 13.50…yeah. Then I’m told if I want to use my debit card it’ll be $ 15.00. So(thank God) I manage to scrounge up enough cash in my wallet to pay. Finally get back to work to eat my lunch: Rice Ball — okay, not great. The sausage crumbles inside barely tasted like anything. There was a hint of tomato sauce and a bit of mozzarella. I’ve never had a rice ball before, so I don’t know if it was a good example or not… but not all of the rice in the crust was fully cooked, I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to be that way. Zucchini flower fritters– Okay, here we go! What I’ve been waiting for! One big bite aaaand, omg how much oil is in this thing? I look where I’ve bitten and I see italian breading with tiny flecks of orange, which must be the zucchini blossoms. Tasty I’ll admit, but if I squeezed the fritter, I bet I’d of gotten at least a tablespoon of oil out of it. *sigh* Dissappointed, and broke and also, now several hours later, have a wicked stomachache. Maybe I’ll try this place again… next year.

I have very little to say, other than that the Pork Store is very feasibly the greatest Italian deli in the US, and possibly the known universe. The owners will ply you with free samples but this is not desparation — it’s confidence. They use the best of the best of the best ingredients and it makes their food absolutely shine. I could spend a very long time and way too much money here. World-class.
