Between this place. Graeters, and Louisville Cream, we Louisviliians are spoiled brats. I haven’t been anywhere in this country or in all the other countries I’ve traveled to that served ice cream as good as Comfy Cow(as well as the aforementioned two). Every flavor them make is a gem. They always take a unique twist on classical flavors. I love their willingness to try new flavors and experiment. Even their Hot Mexican Chocolate flavor that many didn’t like was still wonderful done and delicious. I always can’t wait to come back and try this place.

I love comfy cow. Why’s that? Well, they’re so utterly awesome that one of my favorite ice creams they make has actually won the Top National Ice Cream Award at the World Dairy Expo Championship … Ummm that’s pretty dang awesome! So with that said, I’m so happy the BROWNBUTTERPEANUTBRITTLE is now available alllllll year round!(No more late night trips to Whole Foods or Luckys to stock up before they run out.) Woohoo! Plus, the customer service has always been top notch. We had a group of 4, and Claire made sure we all got to sample anything we desired to make our«ice cream» flight the best ever. There was no eye-rolling when we were like«…oh! Can I try the salted caramel? And also the pumpkin jack flash? And this one too?» She genuinely seemed happy to be there and that made the experience even more delicious. :) But another note, as you’re leaning on the counter trying to decide, take a step back and look at all the options in the freezer section. There’s chocolate covered bananas, bon bons, but most importantly, ICECREAMPIE! You have to try one of the pies. The Reese pie drizzled with caramel was a big thumbs up for my hubs. Pie, pie, pie.

I. Love. The. Comfy. Cow. When they opened this location(which is maybe 5 minutes from where I live), I knew I was in trouble. I finally made it over here last week and was so happy! They have delicious ice cream, and their flavored change with the season. I ordered the bourbon ball ice cream– Which is strong… and delicious. My only complaints about this location is that they don’t display the ice cream where you can see it and they don’t have descriptions of their flavors anywhere. They will let you taste any of the flavors, and they’ll explain what is in them but I just love to see the ice cream when I’m deciding what to get. To me, that’s half the magic of visiting an ice cream shop– that nostalgic feeling you get when peering through the glass case, looking at all the flavors and trying so hard to decide which one is the yummiest.

What’s not to love about having more Comfy Cow?! This shop is located near Shelbyville Rd and the Gene Snyder, which is a great place to go to after shopping at the Middletown Target and WalMart. I went on opening night, and that place was a well oiled machine! The staff is very sweet and knowledgable of the products. Signs are easy to read, and store is super cute. Like most of the other Comfy Cow locations, it’s a descent size with plenty of outdoor seating. The ice cream is just as good! I’m so happy there’s another Comfy Cow! The best flavor(to me) is Watermelon Mint, which is available in February and August!
