Food was just ok. I would not go back though. I’m pretty strict on italian food because its what the south side and all of chicago do best. My biggest red flag, how are you going to be a fancy italian restaurant and not have a homemade house italian vinaigrette. Something so simple and basic. Yours is clearly bottled and has that gummy taste. Ick. Its the easiest thing in the world to throw together some red wine vinaigrette, sugar, olive oil, italian seasoning and shallot. Thats really all it takes. Things that were ok. Meatball and sauce Steak was well cooked but the«vesuvio» sauce that it came swimming in was not as flavorful as it looked. And for $ 29 ! Anyway, ok meal but I would not come back. From the looks of it, there are a lot of local die hards who come here. I’m guessing because the atmosphere is nice and they have a big bar. Southsiders like that. But for food, eh.

I gave them 5 Stars the first time but after my third visit I’m changing my rating. I’m not changing it because of the food, I’m changing it because of The Oddities in the service. In the three times I’ve been here, twice I have accidentally been overcharged. Oddly enough this last time the computers were down so they couldn’t fix it. Strange things though, this is happened at Sullivan’s next door to Bella Mia Bella Mia as well. It’s always at some time when they can’t seem to change it because of a computer issue or because they’re closing for the night. And it’s always a $ 5 overcharge. Now I’m not suggesting it’s the owners, but I’m getting very suspicious of this game playing amongst the staff. Also comma why is the waitress not wanting to bring me change? Why would you even suggest to a customer that they leave you a 55% tip? Just bring the change! One last criticism. When for the. check it shouldn’t be another half-hour wait before I can leave. Given their check ring them out and let them go. I still give the food 5 stars but I would suggest… check your bill 3 times and bring exact change so you can leave when you need to

We came here last night with another couple. The place was full and hopping with a Frank Sinatra impersonator singing his heart out. I want to start out by saying there were a few small problems. First off the hard liquor stock was low. Lots of empty spaces on the shelf. As such a drink my friend ordered was out of stock. Also some of the beer choices nearly every bar has were out of stock. Now on to the food. We tried the grilled salmon Bella Mia style which is a fresh tomato based topping. It was great! Also the linguini with the tomato Alfredo sauce was very good as was the mostacolli marinara. Now as for the bone in ribeye it was prepared vesuvio style per my special request. It was a special 32 ounce not usually on the menu. I would pass on the vesuvio next time as I found it to be to garlic laden for my taste. As a result I did not get through very much of the steak and the part I did was more than half fat and gristle. I hope the rest of it is better when I get to it. Before dinner we had the sausage and peppers appetizer which was very good. Also soup or salad comes with dinners and we opted for the soup. I had an escerole soup which was very good and the rest tried the cream of chicken which they all said was good. After dinner we tried the cannoli and it was also very good. All in all this is a good place and if not for the few issues I mentioned here it would get 4 stars. I will be back again and try something else and let’s see if I get there.

This was a very nice surprise for me I was told about this place as a last minute recommendation. The dish that I ordered was the Parmesan Chicken, in which i thought was really wonderful. The chicken breast was crispy and flavorful on the outside and moist on the inside served with angel hair pasta and salad. The Marinara meat sauce was really flavorful also. One thing that really surprised me was the ambiance and how upscale it is considering its location right in a shopping center next to a grocery store and Irish pub. I would definitely return to try more of of what they have to offer if not just for the good fresh food but for the very nice and attentive service.

Not sure what George F. Is smoking, to saw Palermos and Scremitis is much better is nuts, if you want pizza maybe. Bella Mia food is average at best, I’ll agree, and not much competition in area. The owner knows how to work the customers and make them feel special. If you want really good italian, you have to go downtown or north suburbs…

A real gem hidden in Midlothian Il. Their food is excellent, their ambiance is top of the line. If you are lucky to have Elizabeth(Beth) you will have the ultimate dining experience with a bit of humor on the side. Prices are reasonable. Large portions given. You will not leave hungry. My husband had the porterhouse med rare and could cut it with a fork. I had the signature seafood bowl and it was full of high quality seafood. What an experience!!!

So I’m in the restaurant business and always look at the small details on my experiences at establishments. I must say that Bella Mia nailed it tonight. My server Lisa was on point from attentiveness to personality. She made me feel comfortable and was very knowledgable and helpful on deciding what to have. She rocked! Now to the food. Simple, fresh and cooked perfectly. What a great experience! Definitely coming back and also spreading the word about it!

Excellent service, excellent staff(especially Lisa!) and but of course excellent food! Randy(the owner) was a gentleman and made it a point make sure everything was good at our table. He actually took the time to check on a lot of people in the restaurant to see how everything was. You don’t get that at many places! I would recommend this place to anyone! If you pass this place up you will regret it! Thanks for the great food!, Harvey & Karen

A friend recommended this place. I grew up on Italian food so I know good Italian. Anyone who considers this place as representative of good Italian food doesn’t know what their talking about. We went there last Sunday. It looks nice inside. Spaghetti sauce was like paste. Probably from a jar not fresh. Chicken Caccitore was good. Wife’s Ravioli was mushy sauce terrible cheap frozen Ravioli with cheap watery cheese. Oil was cheap and tasted bad. Soup was bad probably reheated packaged soup. Cheap Salad dressing out of a bottle. Clams were terrible you need a magnifying glass to see the clams tasted like rubber bands and looked like snots. The only reason I gave it two stars was because the Chicken cacciatore was decent. Over all I give it a grade of D+. Not impressed at all. I will stay with Palermo’s on 95th and Scrementi’s when I want good Italian food.

I came here on a recommendation of a friend. The décor is beautiful and our food was delicious. I couldn’t give a five star review for the simple fact of a waiter who completely distracted and disturbed our experience. He had dark hair and was husky and was strutting around the restaurant huffing and complaining about how he wasn’t getting enough people. It kind of ruined the atmosphere for us since it was rather awkward to hear this so clearly. If it weren’t for the waiter, I would have given a 5 star rating. The food is fantastic as was the entertainment. Guess I’ll call first to make sure he’s not there IF I decide to come again.

Well I had heard so much about this restaurant I just had to go and check it out. .Well first it was nicely decorated but when you walked in you smelled fish which kind of turned me off. But we stayed should have left. .We ordered the shrimp dejong as an appetizer the shrimp was chewy and just so so, next was cream of broccoli soup which was mediocre. .My daughter has eggplant parmesan which was also mediocre, I had the Chicken bella mia which was okay but the chicken was not very tender. .And the desserts were also so so .we had the Lemon cake which was very lemony. They had an Italian singer who was not good at all. And one other thing bus boys kept coming over to the table to clear, a dish fill your water glass a little overkill too much .I would not recommend this place.

We went to Bella Mia with the groupon. I didn’t expect much. I don’t know why, just I wasn’t very excited. But… We loved it! Food was fabulous, generous portions, piping hot! Bread that they serve is awesome! We had fried calamari(great, perfect cooked) Eggplant Parmigiana, I had marinara sauce instead of the meat sauce.(best of the best, thinly sliced and fried to perfection) I couldn’t stop eating it. Spaghetti with marinara was ordered by my kid and she gave is 5 stars. She asked to have leftovers for breakfast and lunch. Big hit! I gave it 4 stars because of service. It wasn’t bad, our waitress was nice(bit slow, but place was busy, we get it) but it was more like a diner kind of service, friendly, too personal for this kind of establishment. My order got mixed up, we waited for the bill too long, about 20 min. If you don’t mind the service, I would highly recommend their food!

Stopped by for a drink and a listen to regs Coco&Fancy play couldn’t get a drink because bartenders were tasking doing their set ups for the next day. Regrettable, because I would have stuck around longer had a few drinks and had a better time Oh, well. Food looked good.

Three words: Chicken-Bella-Mia. Oh man, talk about good! My wife and I had a generally pleasant experience here that was capped by delicious food. We began with an app of Shrimp DeJonghe, then had Cream of Chicken Soup and a house salad. We concluded with the aforementioned Chicken Bella Mia and Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo. Everything… and I mean every-thing was absolutely delicious. Our server was George and he was a most gracious host. We appreciated the fact that all severs and their assistants were dressed in all black dress shirts and dress slacks, ties and dress shoes. Their shirt-sleeves were rolled all the way down and buttoned. Their collars were buttoned and their ties fit snug to the top of the collar. Their hair was cut low and neatly cropped. They spoke in measured respectful tones. My wife and I both remarked about how nice it was to be hosted by servers who didn’t have quarters or elephant tusks sagging from their ear lobes, Mohawks, tattoos up and down their arms, legs and neck, piercings in their cheeks, eyebrows, nose, tongue, belly-button, bottom lip, top lip, area between the bottom lip and chin, and completely circumferencing both of their ears. There were no women parading about with half of their breasts showing or their pants sagging so low and so tight that one could easily see the outline of their thong underwear, etc., etc. The whole experience was classy, the food was excellent, and all in Midlothian? Bella Mia is truly a find.

Great place. Great people. Great food. My wife had an excellent meal here, a few drinks, and left her purse, phone, and keys. The employees set it aside for safe keeping until I contacted them the next day. Wonderful place. Be sure to check it out.

I have actually been here a couple of times and I must confess that the chef and staff here in need of some serious kudos. First: The staff… Each time I have gone in I have been greeted with enthusiasm and kindness that cant help you feel anything but welcome. Since the hostess is the very first impression, Maureen was the beginning of a wonderful meal. The first time I was here happened to be for my birthday, and when Maureen caught wind of it she made sure everyone celebrated with me making it a very special evening indeed! The first time through the door I had Illona and she was very knowledgable about the fare as well as the wine pairings. I ended up having the house specialty chicken and the escarole soup. Everything I had was as good as my own. The second time that I went in to Bella Mia I had Nick. He was a fabulous and also had a very impressive knowledge of the cuisine. Upon his recommendation I had the steak vesuvio and it was FABULOUS! The service was also way above the bar. I never had to ask twice for a glass to be refilled or for more bread. Something both servers did was to scrape the crumbs off the table between courses, which I very much appreciated as I was wearing black both times. Both times I was bid a fond adieu and wished the best evening possible– again the role of a great hostess! I will be dining here again.
