After my second visit I decided to go ahead and write a review. My husband and I came for Sunday funday happy hour,(Midlothian’s best kept secret) we had the bang bang shrimp and cocktails made with fresh squeezed grapefruit. Their lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruits are freshly squeezed(good to know if you’re watching sugar) and delicious! I came back with a friend for brunch and was not disappointed! The shrimp and grits were to die for(I’m very picky about my grits) as was the omelet. I’m glad to see a nice locally owned restaurant pop up in Midlothian. I really want this place to succeed!

Our bartender Jessica was very attentive and did a great job recommending our wine! The food was good with a little room for improvement for the price, but they’re finding their footing and I look forward to coming back. Oh! And Wednesday is half off wine bottles, definitely took advantage of that!

Granted, I didn’t come for dinner or even lunch, but during the mid-afternoon for a drink with friends. However, that one drink turned into three because of a few things: first, the happy hour for on Sundays is awesome. Half-priced drafts and $ 6 hellfire shrimp make for a FANTASTIC afternoon. Second, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Third, the actual restaurant was nice to be in, even if it is part of a small strip mall. Fourth, the hellfire shrimp was DELICIOUS. Finally, the beer selection itself was great; good selection to choose from without being overwhelmed. Can’t wait to come back to try a real meal.

GREATSERVICE! Kiah was awesome. Super sweet and easygoing. Attentive without being too in-your-face, and we were never wondering where she was when we needed her. My husband and I ate here a few weeks ago(1⁄17), and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had the hellfire shrimp as an appetizer. It was a lot like the bang bang from Bonefish, but just as good. It was mildly spicy to us, not exactly hellfire-status though. I had the crab cake while my husband chose the fresh fish option. Everything was incredibly fresh. An added bonus was the happy hour extending until 8 on a Sunday night. House wines were all half off! Chill atmosphere-not too loud. Saw families and couples alike enjoying themselves. Love that we have this over on southside. :) we will definitely be back!

Overall — this restaurant misses on so many levels: 1. Arriving on time for a 6:30 reservation, we were seated at 7:30. A large number of guests were extremely frustrated with the wait and walked out — even those with reservations. The hosts don’t have a grip on managing customer wait expectations and the kitchen is VERY slow. 2. The ambiance of the restaurant is simply horrible — I’ve been to cafeterias that have a better atmosphere. It is open with tables arranged haphazardly in the center of a border of booths. The space is very cold with cold air blasting from the exposed AC system. Walls are bare, polished concrete floor(Home Depot style) reflect every noise into a deafening cacophony of sound that prohibited even directed conversations. 3. Now for the food — started with a large order of Oysters Rockefeller and were served raw oysters — after the 20 minute wait for the correct order the oysters arrived cold and soaking wet(under cooked) good flavor but not what was expected from a traditional Oyster Rockefeller. Main courses were not much better: Ahi Tuna, Salmon and Grouper were undercooked and strangely cut up into small pieces(weird); Trout was butterflied and was properly cooked, but arrived cold. The sides were simply disgusting — scalloped potatoes were gray/brown in color and tasted like mush, Brussels Sprouts were swimming in some sort of sauce and were also mushy and slimy. Key Lime pie was infused with ginger and it completed missed the mark — the filling was not creamy and only had a hint of lime flavor — way too much graham crumble on top of the pie soaked up moisture and really affected the overall appearance and texture of the pie. It is promoted with«homemade» whipped cream and arrived with the most minuscule dollop(teaspoon size) of whipped cream that it was a real letdown. The Crème Brûlée was much better and was the winner with the dessert. The coffee tasted like it was brewed in a boot — no really — I had to send it back because it is clear that they do not clean their coffee machine, there was a strong flavor of rancid oil and a disgusting aroma of stench. The best part of the meal was the rolls that arrived hot with a very generous slathering of garlic butter dripping over the top — if not too much butter, but nevertheless the best part of the meal. I shouldn’t throw the staff under the bus — our server was very helpful, kind and understanding — these issues come from management and the kitchen. Overall value is not there — $ 160 before tip for 4 people sharing an appetizer and two desserts with only two drinks in a cafeteria style setting with an hour wait even with a reservation. Bottom line — never again.

A long awaited lunch date with friends was worth the wait for the company, not so much for the venue. Our party of 5 arrived anxiously awaiting the ‘If someone says there’s no where in central Virginia for good seafood, tell them about Lattitudes” experience only to be sadly disappointed and mucho lighter in the wallet! For all the hype… there was actually very little seafood’ to chose from. At least that’s the case for lunch, where I feel the menu is as limited. I feel it necessary to give a specific accounting so you may come to your own conclusion, but this review is based on mine… Lunch at approximately 1pm on Sunday 5 people 8 alcoholic beverages(supposedly during happy hour) which included 4 Bloody Marys 2 Blue Mountain Dark Hollow craft beers 2 Mimosa 2 appetizers Calamari(overcooked and chewy) Spicy shrimp(well cooked and very tasty) 5 Entrees 1 Oscar omelette —(lump crab and asparagus but was so full of spinach(why?) and tomato(why?) as to not being able to taste the crab unless you opened the omelette and picked it out separately) 1 shrimp and grits — said to be delicious, however the side of overcooked and bitter candied bacon was regretted. 1 fish and chips —(best meal at the table) 1 prime rib sandwich — with 1 side for which the wedge salad was chosen, but we were charged for it, so basically, we didn’t get the ‘free’ side with the sandwich 1 lobster grilled cheese — with 1 side chosen to be the side salad, which we paid extra for Bill? $ 171.00 plus tip Really? FORLUNCH? I think almost $ 35 per person for lunch is more than a bit extreme. And…I’ve been trying to figure out this $ 171.00LUNCH bill since yesterday, and cannot. The payor of the bill did not keep the receipt of the breakdown, but I sincerely wish he had. I do not believe the bill was correct. First, I would have checked the drink prices to make sure we received the happy hour prices. Even knowing we paid more for choosing a top shelf vodka for the bloodies… I think we were overcharged for the beverages. Secondly, I would have questioned the charging for the salads when the server asked if WEWANTED the salads as the sides. If you are going to charge patrons extra for choosing the salads… then WHY do they not get the one side that comes with the meal too? We should have at least gotten the sides that came with the meal seeing as we paid extra for what we did get. For the meals themselves… The fish and chips looked to be and was reported by the ‘eater’ as delicious. Bravo The shrimp and grits looked to be and was reported by the ‘eater’ as delicious. Bravo again. The Oscar Omelette from the brunch menu(an Oscar is on the menu as Lump Crab meat and Asparagus) looked delicious. However, the ‘eater’ reported that the omelette was so stuffed with spinach(why?) and diced tomato(again, why?) that the lump crab had to be taken out of the egg to be tasted. While it was described as tasty… it was also stated it would not be ordered again as it was NOT what was expected. The Lobster Grilled Cheese… let’s just say the diner looking forward to this decadent sounding sandwich was heartily disappointed. as was the diner anticipating the… Prime Rib Sandwich… on the menu as being served on grilled homemade sourdough bread. Now…the sandwiches were just that. Nothing special in the least, and small. The bread had grill marks but was hardly grilled. In fact, the marks were on one side and not the other. The bottom side of the sandwiches were soggy. To deliver a plate of ‘high end’ fare to the table looking sad and forlorn is NOT what I’d call appetizing. Because the sandwich eaters ordered salads as the sides, their sandwiches were presented alone, on a full size plate, sliced on the diagonal, looking like it just came from the lunch room cafeteria. The amount of ‘meat’ on these sandwiches hardly justifies the prices asked for them. Yes, one had lobster. Yes, one had prime rib. But… were you to take BOTH the lobster and the prime rib from BOTH… you’d barely have had enough to fill ONE ‘gourmet sandwich’. The lobster was in chopped pieces and the prime rib was ‘shavings’. All told… there was perhaps 1 oz of meat on each. UNACCEPTABLE for the price AND highly disappointing. Had this been a dinner date… the price may have been easier to swallow, if not the food itself. But… seeing as this WAS lunch… I can honestly say this first experience will be the last one. How can ANYONE afford an almost $ 200 lunch bill for 5 people? Especially when one had eggs and two others had sandwiches? You can’t. Simply. You can’t.

unbeatable. i’m going to say this word a lot in this review. move to the next if this bothers you. unbeatable happy hour. it’s unbeatable. got it? i feel compelled to review this place, which is fairly new to the area(used to be Game On), due to the fact i am always raving to friends about their unbeatable happy hour. unbeatable in my books, i mean… seriously, 1 dollar jumbo oysters on the half shell? a dozen fresh oysters over a bed of ice with lemon and horseradish sipping on a IPA from maine… AHHHhhhhh…unbeatable especially at that price point! M-F, 3 to 6:30 i think it runs. all brews are half off, house wines and well drinks. here comes the crazy, they run the same happy hour on sundays from 1−8…so you can take your fam or a group of friends and enjoy one of midlo’s newest stellar restaurants, Latitude Seafood. hellfire shrimp — AMAZING. oysters — AMAZING. fried calamari — AMAZING. chicken lettuce wraps — AMAZING. lobster mac — good. ceviche — good. lobster bisque — ok. just go try it… for 20 bucks or less, 12 oysters and a few beers… UNBEATABLE!!!

Excited to have a good seafood restaurant in midlothian. Coming from Long Island and living in Powhatan not much selection here. Happy hour specials are awesome, especially half price oysters and draft beers. Had the dueling lobster tails which were great for dinner and the lobster roll another day. I do wish the lobster roll was on a buttered roll. Hellfire shrimp are great. Brussels sprouts are great and I’m willing to pay the $ 2 up charge for them unlike another reviewer. Staff are all very nice as well. Glad to see the old bar gone and this place there instead.

This week I stopped by for lunch with eight of my friends and really enjoyed my meal. As in previous visits, service was excellent. Considering we were a party of 9 women and a toddler. This is saying a lot! I had the crab cake sandwich which was very crabby and served with a nice soft roll, fresh lettuce, tomato and sauce. You get a choice of fries or salad and I chose the salad which has a light vinaigrette. Around the table ladies enjoyed the fish and chips, lobster bisque, lettuce wraps and another of the sandwiches. As I’ve been previously on Friday nights, it was nice to have a more relaxed atmosphere during the lunch hours.

My wife and I were looking forward to our meal at the recently opened Latitude as this area offers limited restaurant choices. Décor is lacking and the seating looks like it has not really planned well. The noise level is more sports bar like and a turn off. The food was just ok. The portions seemed small and the seasoning was lite. $ 2 up charge for certain sides. I had the brussel sprouts and certainly not worthy of extra $ 2. Stuff flounder missed mark on doneness and seasoning. Crab cakes were ok but not something that I would come back for again.

So far I’ve waited for an hour to receive icecold mahi-mahi, over peppered pasta, tough steak, watered lobster bisque, and oysters that had freezer packaged spinach on it. The manager came over and made excuses, and charged me for food that we didn’t eat. I didn’t eat one bite of my food and still was charged 92.00, never again will I ever ever eat here

We started our meal with lobster bisque which was flavorful, but out of 3 portions only 1 had a significant piece of lobster. The fish and chips was very good, 3 generous pieces of fish and very good fries. The lobster roll was far from what I would call a New England lobster roll. The meat was minced like a tuna salad and honestly didn’t taste like lobster. Crab cakes met my husband’s satisfaction. Our waitress Laura was very efficient and personable. I’d like to see a bigger variety of fish on the menu. Perhaps broiled swordfish or haddock. There’s not even a shrimp main course offered. We’ll certainly give it another try.

Decided to give this new place a try and was not disappointed at all. Yes, a bit pricey and a little too sports bar at first glance but once the food and drink got going, it was smooth sailing. Our waitress, Kami, was very helpful at making suggestions and she was right about the HellFire shrimp, Olive Branch martini, and the crab cakes… Well… Yum. Didn’t like the sangria. Too watery but she took that back and suggested the ace pineapple cider which was great. Side dishes delicious.

Honestly one of the worst meals my wife and I have had in a long time. The calamari was ok but could have benefited from being a little crispier. The lobster bisque was like flavored water with 4 little pieces of lobster I think. My main course consisted of 4 medium size scallops that were ok but a little more caramelization, the garlic mashed potatoes were ok and my broccoli could have been cook better. My wife’s grouper was just a hot mess, All my wife could taste was pepper and she just left it on the plate. Service was very slow — not so much the waitress who had to keep coming back to apologize saying the kitchen was«slammed» even though we were one of 4 tables in the whole place being served. Now I know they have only been open for a month and I hope they improve but until they do you should avoid this seafood joint.

A friend recommended this place, as it is recently opened in Midlothian, in Westchester Commons. This is NOT boring seafood! A group of us ate here and shared appetizers and entrees and were really impressed. The Hellfire Shrimp was awesome. Perfectly done, and the right amount of heat.(If you don’t like spicy, you shouldn’t be ordering something called«hellfire shrimp!»). The mussels were perfectly done, but save some bread for dipping up the juice at the bottom of the bowl, because that was amazing. We also had some of the best ceviche I’ve ever tasted, and the calamari was perfectly done, perfectly crispy and perfectly seasoned with an awesome drizzle of something tangy that I don’t recall but it was delicious. The craft beer menu here is incredible. Lots of recognizable names from local breweries, lots of variety. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helped set us up with flights to test several kinds. My friend who recommended Latitude told me the lobster bisque was a must, so we tried it and he wasn’t wrong. Chunks of lobster tail meat in the bisque and it was spiced/flavored perfectly. Same thing with the lobster macaroni and cheese… chunks of meat, creamy, and, again, flavored perfectly. I go back to what I said originally: NOT boring. The stuffed lobster was great, with generous amounts of crab meat and the right amount of seasoning. The ambiance was nice. Classy, and. not ‘austere’, but minimalist. Don’t expect to see lobster pots, crab bouys and fish nets hanging from the wall. It’s classier and more upscale than that. We loved it, and will be back.

Ok I am surprised here as I didn’t know what latitude would be. Thinking more casual bar like the previous tenant(not related sportsbar) Surprise being it is a very nice upscale seafood restaurant. I would compare it along the lines of The Hardshell here in Midlothian. And I actually have never been a huge fan of the food at Hardshell… But I found the selection and food quality here excellent. Along the lines of other new local upscale dinning like Tazza kitchen they also have an excellent crafted drink menu. Interior from outside you may think it is still a sportsbar because you can still see tvs. But they are only the tvs above the bar. All the tvs around the room have been replaced with aged wood. They also have put accustic tiles in the ceiling to keep noise to a good level(take note Buffalo Wild Wings down the street you need some of these). I will definitely be back. So many good things on the menu eat and drink it will take a while to try them all.

I have no words but I will try… this place is spectacular! The service is top notch and the food is 5 star and unlike anywhere in the Richmond area. Do your taste buds a favor and bring them to Latitudes Seafood for a treat! I should have taken pictures of our dinner but once it arrived to the table steaming, literally because it was hot! We couldn’t put down our forks
