I have the hardest time with this place. I went once and it was really good. I have tried it twice since and it has never been the same as that first time. The steak was way over cooked the second and the third time and the sides were average. The Caesar salad was the best thing I ate. When I go to a steakhouse I expect the steak to be the center of my attention. They are a little cheaper than most places for steak but I just can’t help but to compare this place with Texas Roadhouse. I am a big fan of Texas Roadhouse. Roadhouse always cooks the meat perfectly at all locations except for the one in west valley. Don’t go to the one in west valley. But if you want cheaper steak, drive a little further to the roadhouse in Sandy. Don’t waste your time and money at longhorn.

Waited over 30 minutes for dinner and the wait or never offered a refill one my drink the waited never checked till 15 minutes after we were done… a king then if we would like refills to which I told him 20 minutes ago… we asked him for the check when he came back he had drinks.?omg we were clearly done. he said oh you don’t have to drink them. Food was wonderful as always just that waiter gave me the worst dining experience.

Ooh my gosh! The bone in ribeye steak is amazing ! Everything about it ! The marveling, the seasoning, the cut, and fatty goodness… My mouth is just watering thinking about it. I had my steak with a side of creamy spinach, a tad bit salty but good. The bread was fresh and warm. I had to tell myself to stop eating it to save room for the steaks. The mixed green salad with side of ranch was amazing.

In the mood to try something new, my dining companion and I ventured to the LongHorn Steakhouse on a Saturday(1÷30÷2016 around 6:00pm-ish). Parking was a pain, but there was still room in the far end of the back parking lot. The wait was about 30 minutes and the waiting area was completely packed; so much so that for a while we didn’t have a place to sit while we waited. We were finally seated at a booth right behind the host(ess) podium, which afforded a good view of the dining room. As far as décor and ambiance went, I thought it was pretty nice for a mid-priced steakhouse. The colors and decorations were very neutral – lots of browns – the lighting was dimmed, but not so much so that you think it’s time to nap. The music was also at a low enough level that you can carry on a conversation without yelling at your table companions. I also liked the polished wood look of the booth tables. The menu was about the size that I’d expect from this type of steakhouse. There were plenty of options, but it wasn’t completely over done. The drink menu looked interesting, but neither of us ordered from it, so I can’t give a review on that. The table bread was a wheat bread and quite good, though the butter was so-so. It wasn’t very spreadable and considering the amount of bread, the amount of butter was very small. We ordered two appetizers(Crispy Jalapeño Shooters and the White Cheddar and Bacon Dip), which were both delicious. I liked the idea of the appetizers for one. I wish more restaurants did that. For the main meal, my dining companion and I shared the Outlaw Ribeye. It comes with a salad and a side of your choice – we just got another salad so that we both had one. When I got my salad, I wished that I’d gotten a side. The salad was even less than lack-luster. A bunch of lettuce, a piece of onion, a piece of tomato, and some croutons. My dining companion’s salad was drenched in dressing so(to make up for that, I can only assume) there was hardly any dressing on mine. I took two bites and set it to the side. Life is too short to eat salad that looks like less care went into making it than bagged salad. The steak, however, made up for the salad. It was flavorful and juicy. It was a perfect medium. I would order that steak again without hesitation. For dessert, we decided to share the Cherry Lava Cake. That was a mistake. The reason being is that it wasn’t actually a lava cake. It was cake that had chocolate sauce on top and then the topping was put over the top of the sauce. When I order lava cake, I expect to cut into the cake and get a gush of chocolate from the center. Not only was it not a lava cake, but it tasted like it came from a plastic bag and was microwaved. We both took one bite and sent it back. The flavor and texture was comparable to a Hostess product. To be completely honest, I’m embarrassed for LongHorn in this respect. Since we were jonesing for something sweet to finish the meal, we decided to try the Cinnamon Carrot Cake. It was… okay… but it had that same over processed flavor and texture that the ‘lava cake’ suffered from. The only real difference was that we were actually getting what we ordered. We were ordering a carrot cake type dessert with a runny white sugary topping and that’s what we got. It wasn’t being presented as something that it wasn’t. Our server was Nick A. and he was very good. He was friendly and professional. He was obviously extremely busy, but that didn’t detour him from giving us great service. The bathroom was a complete mess. There was toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor. When we left, the host and hostess were too busy talking animatedly with each other to say good-bye to us, even though we thanked them as we walked by. In conclusion, this restaurant is middle of the road. It is a steakhouse and the star of their show really shone through. The steak was honestly the best part of the meal and that is extremely important. The appetizers were good. Skip the salad completely, and don’t even bother with the dessert menu. It’s a complete travesty and serves only to leave a bad taste in your mouth at the end of the dining experience.

Food is good, but if you order takeout– plan on waiting twice as long as they tell you(with nowhere to actually wait for your food except standing in everyone’s way).

Two stars for the service. Subpar at best. Waiter seemed new, so I understood his confusion. Restaraunt was packed, so servers were overwhelmed. Took 20 minutes just for the waiter to take our checks for payment. Food service was also slow However, the food was four stars across the board with our group. Before I continue, they do offer a gluten free menu for those with a wheat allergy and celiac like me. Winning 1. Flo’s center cut filet. Cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth tender 2. spicy grilled jalapeño sirloin. For a sirloin, this was pretty tender and the jalapeño sauce on the top is extremely flavorful with a nice kick of heat 3. You also can’t go wrong with parmesan crusted topping on the steak. Bubbly & lightly browned. Killer 4. chopped salad leaves allot to be desired. Basic and boring 5. Suggest the baked or mashed for side. The sweet potatoes were just OK, and the asparagus was rubbery and not flavored correctly. Story short, get the steak! It’s a steakhouse and they cook a killer cut of meat. We left full, happy and warm inside. In fact, I’m craving that filet as I type this. That’s when you know it’s a winner

I went here with my wife just to try the food and was quite disappointed. The salad looked like they took the top off the dressing bottle and went nuts. I ordered the rib eye steak and the waitress was condescending of my choice. The steak quality was subpar, and 60% of the steak was just solid fat. Not the marbled delicious kind of fat, just solid the chef didn’t trim the meat at all fat. The waitress was then condescending again when she came back and I had cut the thick chunks of fat off the steak and set them aside. For the dessert we tried the chocolate lava cake and it was probably the least satisfying chocolate lava cake I’ve ever eaten. The cake was chewy, the inside was almost cold, the fudge was almost solid(so much for lava) and it tasted bland. Poor service, poor food, will not return.

We had a large group, called ahead earlier in the week and the day of but they struggled to accommodate. It took 45 minutes to get seated and an hour to get out entrees. Our server was trying her hardest and was really cool. I had the 12oz sirloin cooked medium rare and they nailed it! Sweet potato was delicious broccoli tasted like broccoli. Apple turnover was tasty as was the chocolate cake. The restaurant feels upscale but not stodgy, has a woodsy cowboy Texas vibe. The food is a solid 4 stars and the staff was great, just a little break down in their process for large groups.

It was super busy so we decided to sit at the bar since it was open seating, first come, first serve. They told us it was about a 20 minute wait but we noticed we got our entrée before most of the people ahead of us were seated. thank goodness. My friend and I decided to get an appetizer, soup, and an entrée to share. The best of all worlds. Complimentary bread to start with. Soft and delicious with a side of butter. For an appetizer we chose the Best of Longhorn Sampler($ 10.99) which was plenty to share between the 4 of us. It comes with Stuffed Mushrooms, Wild West Shrimp and Firecracker Chicken Wraps. I enjoyed the cheesy stuffed mushrooms and the wraps but the shrimp was just okay. Next came the Shrimp & Lobster Chowder($ 5.49). For the portion and price. not worth it. Nothing fancy in flavor and very little bits of shrimp and lobster. Lastly, we went with the Renegade Sirloin & Lobster Shrimp Scampi 8oz($ 22.99) which is a Featured Flavors Special at the time. It also came with a side of rice and we chose Mac & Cheese for the other. Since Mac & Cheese is a signature side it was a little extra apart from the other choices. Steak was great. We order medium rare and that’s what we got. The half portion of lobster tail was also great but a little small. Shrimp was okay but I didn’t really care for it. Rice was a little hard for my liking but great in flavor. Mac & cheese was also okay but I felt it was a little bland. Woah, descriptive. Service was attentive though they we’re short of servers. Our waitress was very helpful and kept a great attitude. Not my first choice for a steakhouse but it was a pretty satisfying dinner. I left a happy customer.

Longhorn really is amazing. Its my to go to steakhouse in the Midvale area. The service is incredible, the staff is very professional. Sometimes during peak hours, you can get stuck in a 45 minute wait, however just a tip, keep an eye on the bar, there are almost always spots open so you can go right in and sit down. Also, no fee to bring your own wine!

I love longhorn when I am in the mood for a steak. They don’t offer the table side steak sauce anymore which is a bummer. My steak has always been cooked to the temperature I like. Our server took his time to take our order but you can tell he was not very educated in wines or alcohol which is fine. Overall food is great and so is the service.

Came back to give this place a second chance. I felt like that wasn’t a great idea at all. We came and got seated immediately but I then I think we were forgotten about. We waited around 10 – 15 mins and there was no one to serve us. We had nothing to drink and no side bread what so ever. Everyone around us was enjoying their meals and dessert offers, but we just sat there like if we were invisible. Not only that but my table set had lipstick stains. My friend got mussels as appetizers, and it looked nothing like the picture. That wasn’t the first thing I noticed though, the first thing I notice or should I say my nose notice was the smell of the sea food when they raised the bowl that was trapping the scent in. It tasted better than it look and smelled. I ordered the blue wedge salad and the prime rib. The blue wedge salad came as one whole lettuce chopped in half. I had to cut my salad in pieces to eat it… it was a unique way of working and eating a salad. Strong real blue cheese taste, so that’s a plus. The prime rib was really meh… the meat wasn’t that tender at all and it was tasteless. I had to add salt to it because the sauce that came with it tasted like some kind of weird soup. Everyone at the table got a taste of my «soup» and wondered what sides I got. I would still prefer to go to some other steakhouse if I keep getting suck horrible service and«meh» food.

I came back! Unfortunately the service was still not spot on. This time, nobody attended to us within the first 10 minutes after being seated despite the restaurant being only half full on that fateful Tuesday evening. No water, no bread. We kept hearing the tables nearby being offered desserts while we were left drooling over delicious pictures in the menu. We were starting to wonder if we unconciously donned the invisibility cloak when the lady server finally came to us. We ordered right away because who knows when we would be served again. For appetizer, I got the OctoberFest Mussels. It did not look as good as the picture in the menu, but thank God it tasted a whole lot better. You see, I should not have judged a mussel by its shells(sorry little mussels!). It was tasty with enough spice to give enough kick. Few of the mussels though were not opened and no amount of alohomora could change that. I wondered if they were not cooked enough, or maybe those were strong-willed ones. For main dish, I went with Outback Ribeye and omg it was the highlight of my visit. If there was a reason for me to return, it would be for this steak. The meat was cooked to perfection with a lot of juicy pink in the middle, just the way I like it. It has enough seasoning to keep me hooked the entire meal. My only complain is the portion is too big. Yes, too big. There is only 18oz option available, and I am just a tiny Asian trapped in a tiny body. I wish they had a smaller option, something like 10−12oz which should make the dish a lot more affordable and also perhaps named after me. One can dream, right? For sides, the mashed potatoes were delicious, but the Caesar Salad was uninteresting and a tad bland. I also tried the Spanish Feta Chicken, and while it was good, it was nothing special. Unless you are on a special chicken diet which requires you to eat chicken or die, I would recommend their steak and leave chicken to the people in Lousiana. I am also not impressed with the free bread that they provide. It was alright but other steak places have better quality bread or more butter flavors options. Would I return? Possibly. Hopefully the service is more attentive at that time, or maybe I would just resort to bringing a bell or creating a scene, whichever is more effective.

i was delayed on my flight home from cancun and was stuck in atlanta overnight. basically i hadn’t eaten for almost 24 hours(plane sat on tarmac for hours and landed in atlanta at midnight so everything was closed) and was starving by the time i got to my gate the next day. luckily there was a longhorn steakhouse in the airport by our gate so we ate there. now maybe everything tasted good to me, because i was starving, but it was such a delicious cheeseburger and garlic fries. so when i got back home to utah, all i could think about was that juicy cheeseburger and garlic fries. so i decided to try this place to satisfy my craving. it’s actually a really nice restaurant and was more upscale than i expected. our server was very friendly and i felt well taken care of. they didn’t have the rancher burger(bacon with egg), but i got the regular cheeseburger instead with garlic fries. the cheeseburger wasn’t as juicy, but still good. the garlic fries were a big disappointment as they didn’t have enough flavor in them. so overall i was disappointed and will probably go elsewhere next time i have a cheeseburger craving.

This was our first visit to a Longhorn Steakhouse and we’d come back for sure. The menu had so many great things on it, it was so hard to choose! Great ribeye, cooked to perfection, right amount of marbling. The seasoning was exact, with a pleasant kick. I’m more of a roll girl, but the honey wheat bread was pretty great too. Party also enjoyed the cheese fries and baked sweet potato. Service was friendly, the wait wasn’t too bad for a Friday night(NOTE: Use the call-ahead seating!!!) and prices were about average and reasonable for a meal like this. Steaks will run you $ 13 – 30, depending on the cut and combo. Most other menu items will be $ 11 – 16.

For the first time in what feels like years I had the pleasure of having a perfectly cook actually medium rare steak! And they don’t add any garnishments to the plate, every bite was edible and delicious, no extra steak sauces needed. My compliments to the chef and to our waiter Matthew, he was right on it with everything! I am in love with this restaurant. Although we cannot afford to frequent this establishment all the time, they really are top notch! We have visited a few times, some on slower nights and some on busier nights, but this place is amazing and worth the wait on a Friday night. We will be back, but maybe only on special occasions due to the cost.

Parking on a busy night is horrendous. The lines are teeming with hungry, impatient people. And the smell is overwhelmingly good. All factors to make a starving person, die inside — one could even use the word ‘torture.’ ANYWHO — this has definitely been one of my favorites since moving to SLC in terms of steak. I came here with my bud after a day of carving my butt into the mountain(or vice versa applies I suppose). Needed to replenish protein storage and neither of us knew what LongHorn was all about, so in we went! The wait was pretty crazy for a Saturday night, but we were patient, knowing that long crowds meant great quality. Were we wrong? NOPE! I got the Outlaw Steak, a nice slab of marbled deliciousness cooked to PERFECTION! Ladies and gents, I’ve had my share of steak, and for the price, it’s excellent. The loaded potato definitely could’ve used some work, but the service and steak were all that mattered to me as I tried to recover. Anywho — LongHorn Steakhouse!.. I’ll be back.

I recently ate here on my lunch break and the service and food was good. The waitress acknowledge we had a large group(6 people) and asked us how we are on time today, as she was assuming we were on our lunch break. She was great with her recommendations, very knowledgeable of the menu, and our drinks were always refilled. I ordered the bacon wrapped fillet with a side of rice. I had ordered it medium rare, it was served to me medium. Which was fine and to be expected with most places. Unless it’s a fine steak house. I wasn’t a fan of the bacon, it was somewhat soggy and gross, so I actually peeled it off of the steak. The lunch menu is super affordable,(mostly under $ 10). Which is great for the quality of food. I’d definitely choose this place over any other $ 10 lunch place.

Despite being a steakhouse restaurant chain… Longhorn does it right. At least they did for me this past Friday for lunch. The 18 oz Ribeye I got costs about $ 25 and was worth every cent. The loaded stuffed potato(side) was fine but I didn’t care to finish it as my distended stomach couldn’t take much more. I can’t wait to try the porterhouse for two next time I visit.
