This place is my favorite go to for a juicy hamburger. It’s always clean and the service is very fast. Larry is really nice with an awesome memory. 5 stars!!!

I love this place. Adding a fried egg always makes a burger awesome.

We usually go to the Smashburger in Draper — it’s one of my favorite places, their burgers are delish, and though the skinny fries are hard to eat, the chipotle dipping sauce is wonderful & that rosemary flavor on the Smashfries is amazing. HOWEVER, this Union Park Ave. location does not have the chipotle dipping sauce! They have a weird, watered down, flavorless ketchup called ‘fry sauce’ that is just awful. No kick whatsoever. I was disappointed the first time I discovered this, then forgot about it and went back when I was in the area, only to be reminded of that disappointment again when I saw the weird fry sauce cups on my tray. The second time I mixed in mayo to make it at least, more like real fry sauce, but the chipotle sauce at the Draper location is MUCH better.

Yuck! I ordered the Buffalo blue cheese burger to go and when I got home there was no lettuce, tomato, or Mayo on the burger. It’s just meat and blue cheese, they forgot half of the ingredients! I’m super disappointed and it was really expensive.

This place has pretty good food. It is just on the expensive side when you have competitors like 5 guys and habit burger. The fries were actually pretty good for chick fries and the burger was really tasty. I just can’t see why I would pay a couple more dollars for this place instead of going to one of the other nearby burger joints. I only go here when the guys at work are going. I wouldn’t choose this the establishment over the others on my own.

We quite enjoy smash burger! Me and my wife frequent here often! Burgers are amazing! And we had a great experience today because of their front man CJ he was super nice and just seemed to enjoy being there, we really like to see that in a place; especially food service wise. Great place!

On back to back nights, we ate at Five Guys and Smashburger to compare and contrast the two. Though you could easily walk from one to another, because they aren’t in the same building complex it’s not too easy via car. Between the two places, Smashburger was better than Five Guys. The meat tasted better and the same burgers were less expensive. We were really impressed by the Rosemary Garlic Shoestring fries. The dining room was dark and relaxing. Except for not serving peanuts, and having the infinite combination soda machine, Smashburger was the hands down winner.

Why have I never stopped here before? Top notch quality for fast food. The egg buns are light and tender. The burgers are cooked to order and JUICY. The truffle mushroom and swiss burger was off the hook. Smash fires were boldly flavored with garlic and rosemary and fried to crispy perfection. Service was great. They even served the food, asked how everything was and cleared the tables. Can’t beat that.

Went to this location yesterday after my wife had gone to the Draper location for lunch. We ordered the Beehive and bacon cheeseburger with rosemary fries and onion rings. Fries were great! The burgers not so much. Over cooked, a ton of salt, really!!! Too bad, I was excited to get a flattop burger from a new restaurant.

I really love the Burgers! I tried them for my first time last night and the burgers are great! You get the taste, and look of a gourmet burger without the ultra soggy falling apart bun. But the customer service is horrible. The Cashier was frowning and talking in a mono tone voice making everyone I was with including me fell like we were not wanted there. He would also make remarks like«of course you want that too» or «really». I have been in the customer service field for 9 yrs and I had better customer service skills after a month of training at my first job. I get it customer service can suck but it’s your job. Fix the Service and I’d bring you up.

Ordered the Beehive Burger and it was prepared nicely. The patty was cooked just right the Rosemary fries were perfect and the kids meal was also prepared well. This location looses points in the cleanliness department. The bathroom was horrible dirty and not maintained in oh say a week. I feel cleanliness is a good reason to not come back. Can’t care for the public areas what does that say about the kitchen?

I really love the Sides and selection options of the SmashBurger franchise, but i dont care much for the taste of their meat/burgers. It is bland and dry, and there are tons of better burgers out there. If i could make the perfect hybrid it would be the options and sides of Smashburger with the burger patties of 5 Guys, their meat is WAY more juicey and tasty. That being said the service is typically pretty good but nothing amazin, the haystack onions are delicious, the smash fries are awesome, but i recently tried the new buffalo fries which were not very good and not a bit spicey, they just tasted super salty with a hint of buffalo flavor. On my most recent trip i tried the new(i think) «Windy City Burger» which was pretty lame it was just a burger with some onions and brown mustard, pretty original! you really have to make your own, or find a secret menu item to get a really tasty burger, especially since the meat cant stand on its own. Thus far my favorite canned menu item would have to be the Beehive burger which is like a BBQ bacon burger. In the past they had AWESOME blackbean burgers, i mean seriously me a fat, meat lover would order this thing over any other form of meat because it was amazing! it was tasty crisp, had a good bite to it and didnt just mush or fall appart. Sadly i moved away for several years and upon coming back to UT i have since tried the Blackbean burger at multiple locations and it is NOGOOD, it is just like they took canned beans, threw them in a food processor with a pinch of salt then put thim on the grill. It is mushy, messy bland and just sad. My wife did order one at this sandy location recently and it actually was okay, but nowhere near what it was a couple years ago. Worst of all i HIGHLY recommended this blackbean burger to many people not knowing the quality went way down, and now none of them trust my food judgement anymore. both said they felt like they were eating«babyfood slopped on a bun»

This Smashburger was a pretty big letdown. The other two locations I frequent, Sugarhouse and West Valley, are much better than this one. First, the place was not clean at all. There was paper, lost fries and even veggies on the floor, tables that had messes all over them and the bathroom looked like a crime scene. Now for the food, I am a really big fan of the Beehive burger, but the patty was so over-salted that you HAD to have ketchup or something else sweet to even out the flavor and burning sensation. I was not alone in this as well, my girlfriends burger was so salty she couldn’t even finish it. Like I said, I’ve never experienced something like this from Smashburger before, so I was taken aback. Their fries were good, as usual and the shake was really solid too. I also really like how they’re one of the only«Quick Food» places that has Vitamin Water in leau of soda. Like I said, this might have been a one off and I will go back to see if it was, but at least this time I was very underwhelmed.

Tweaker cashier needs to give me time to read the menu. Burgers can use some improvement.

Good thing my wife likes this place so much. Burgers are decent… tonight was actually pretty good. Fries are acceptable but… BUT their $ 4 hagen daaz shakes have suddenly been smaller than before. Their sidecar cup has only a few spoonfuls whereas in the past it was 30−50% full.

Was this joint named so because when the HULK ate here he uttered for the first time those immortal words, «HULKSMASH!»? Probably not. This food is too sad to generate a hulking response. Actually, they should rebrand as Quashburger, because what we received served only to deaden our emotions and deflate our appetites until eating became a flavorless ritual in forced chewing. We ordered a classic smashburger as well as a classic with the black bean patty. We evidently forgot to order flavor, and in the case of the veggie burger we also left out texture. I suppose the fries are decent, but their unnecessarily thin cut just adds another layer of frustration to an already depressing dining experience. If you asked me to rank The Habit, Five Guys, and Smashburger, I’d rank Smashburger 4th and award 3rd place to «no thanks, I think there’s a granola bar in the glove compartment.»

I don’t want to give this place 3 stars. I really don’t. I say that because I really want to give it 5. I love burgers. If I could eat burgers everyday for the rest of my life without having a heart attack, I undoubtedly would. But Smash Burger is just okay. It doesn’t jump out or make me want to go back over and over. It does have a nice selection of burgers and chicken. I love the fact that you can choose 2 sizes of burger. And I also appreciate the quality of ingredients. I’ve been several times and always had fresh cut avocado and high quality tomatoes… thats not something you get everywhere. The chicken is pretty good, but it’s nothing special. Saving grace are definitely the fries. I am a fry kinda guy and this place does them well!
