This place was highly disappointing. First they put three of us at a very small table of two(even though the reservation was for three). Granted one of us was a small child this still was not enough room — anyone who’s dined with a child knows that more room is preferable as small hands will grab everything. Second the service was less then stellar. Our server didn’t really seem interested in being there and was aloof. We had to ask for a children’s menu which seemed like a missed opportunity for an up sell on the restaurants part. Third the food was blah. Not bad but definitely not worth the price(eve with a coupon). The steaks were ok but the baked potato had minimal toppings and was slightly undercooked. Fourth when the plates were placed on the table not one but both had the steak knife handle facing my child. Additionally almost everything brought to the table was placed right in front of my child — a mess waiting to happen. Lastly the car park is not well lit and if I didn’t k ow where the restaurant was I would have definitely got lost. Needless to say I would not go back anytime soon. Though the one positive experience was joselyn(?) a busser who was very friendly and helpful.

Simons restaurant came highly recommended BUT was a dismal disappointment. The hostess was very pleasant but our waitress had the personality of a wet moldy dish towel. If you enjoy paying Ruth’s Chris prices for sizzler quality food then Simons is the place for you. Everything about this restaurant caters to the Utard mentality. If you are not a UTARD, save your time and money. I ordered the special which was steak and shrimp, the waitress did not even ask me how I would like my steak cooked, they just brought it out well done, which was comparable to shoe leather. The shrimp which were not good quality shrimp but flash frozen shrimp from Vietnam or somewhere in Asia were drowning in what I can only assume was cheap prepackaged minced garlic, total overkill. Everyone else in my party ordered the fried chicken which came highly recommended by our waitress, we have three orders of fried chicken that would’ve lost to KFC, and KFC is absolutely horrible. My daughter ordered a bowl of soup that is supposedly made in house, it was inedible. None of us could finish our meals due to the poor quality and poor preparation of the food. I gave them one star only because that is the minimum but honestly they did not even earn that.

Delicious food, the family and us reserved a quiet room for all 14 adults and 6 kids(eek!). Our waitress(Lacie) did a fantastic job ensuring all was well and our needs were met, which was quite a feat considering. So kudos to her and thanks for your hard work, especially on thanksgiving! Anyways, the presentation of the food was incredibly intricate! Lots of variety and all of it delicious! It was a pretty pricey dinner but it was buffet style and therefore all you can eat crab legs, shrimp, oysters, turkey, prime rib, ham, fancy cheeses, smoked and baked salmon, and an entire dessert buffet with pies and tarts.

Great service, AMAZING bread. It would be nice if there were a few more options for dinner, but what is available is pretty good.

We ordered the family meal for, well, our family(of four): pot roast, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, veggies, salad, rolls, and it was all really good and there was plenty of food for everyone. Home cookin’ kinda stuff.

We eat here every year after our golf tournament. This year I have to give them a «double bogie». Do not order the fried chicken. Over cooked, and dry. The Colonel would be unhappy. The bass was good, but had no flavor. Head into town. Poor service.

We have been coming here for the last few years to stay and this will be the last. Food on par with maybe Sizzler. Ordered the ribeye. Over cooked tough and tasteless. Our server took the drink order and was also the bartender. But she didn’t know how to make drinks so I had tell her how to make a martini. Needless to say we will not return

Truly a disappointing experience. The food was actually alright but the attitude of the staff spoiled the experience. We ordered wings and were given no napkins. When we asked for napkins, we were handed two small cocktail size napkins. I asked for a dinner napkin and the waiter was clearly annoyed at my request. He did bring us dinner napkins but when our next order arrived, the same waiter carried his attitude forward and literally dropped the dinner plate onto the table. Very unprofessional and certainly not the service level we expected at the Homestead Resort.

Despite seeing the awful Unilocal reviews I decided to give the restaurant a chance, the service proved to be just as awful as the reviews said. The staff was rude and acted out of line when their rude and inattentive service was called out. I left with a really awful feeling. It’s sad such a nice little resort has such a terrible restaurant with some of the worst bartenders/waiters I have ever experienced.

Some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. The staff literally seemed like they have no training. They were extremely rude and inattentive. The restaurant appeared nice but don’t be fooled. Food was mediocre at best. Bottom line, sad excuse for a «resort restaurant».

A sad restaurant aspiring to be classy. The waitstaff are children with zero expertise, the food is mediocre. Rude staff, poor food. Go anywhere else.

This place has potential but as it stands now it was not good. We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and ate here the first night and never again. The bread was really good. Our flat bread appetizer was really good. The rest was not so great. Party of 6 and we all got something different and none of looked amazing. I got the chicken fried steak. It had white gravy on the steak and brown gravy on the potatoes? Anyway, I feel like this place could have some potential. Service wasn’t that great either.

Hubby, my parents and I visited Homestead last night for a quick getaway and visit to the crater. Simons was our dinner spot, and it was amazing! We started with the cheese curds, which were so good! Crispy and yummy — and the tomato basil dipping sauce was so rich and tasty my dad wanted to eat it with a spoon. We ordered the dinner for 4 to share among us, and we all loved it. Started with bread baked in small terra-cotta pots, it was soft and hot and delish covered in butter. The salad was next, and was equally good. Crisp lettuce with mixed veggies and walnuts, tossed in just enough of the yummy ranch dressing to keep you happy. The main courses were so tasty. Juicy fried chicken, fork tender pot roast(I loved it… And I don’t even like pot roast!), mashed potatoes, and roasted beets. There was plenty to go around, our tummies were full and happy… But Apple doughnuts finished the dinner off! They were sweet, spongy and so tasty. They came with a sweet sauce you could drizzle on, and it tastes like thick melted vanilla bean ice cream! All in all, the service was great, the food was delicious, and the prices were incredible! Feeding 4 with a meal that delicious for $ 49.99? Heck yes! Worth every penny and then some.

This would have been a 1 star, but there were a few things that made it a 2. We got the family dinner for 4 and split it between me and 3 friends of mine. It came with fried chicken, pot roast, beets and green beans as well as salad and mashed potatoes… it all had the potential to be good, but most of it wasn’t. The dinner rolls were really good, the salad was mediocre. As we were waiting for the fried chicken we all joked that it was going to be KFC, in retrospect we wish it had been KFC it would have tasted much better, it was overcooked and bone dry. The vegetables were OK, and the pot roast was actually quite tender and flavorful(reason for the 2 stars). The service was mediocre, 1 of our servers was quite friendly and helpful but the 2 younger servers were not friendly or helpful at all. And as we were leaving we all noticed the wonderful smell of raw sewage that had apparently soaked into the carpets, in the entryway. This place was probably awesome 30⁄40 years ago before I was born, but now it just seemed like low quality food at high prices.

Simon’s Restaurant at the Homestead Resort has recently reopened after a remodel with a new chef and new menu. Chef Roée is committed to using fresh, local ingredients and cooking quality food. Last night three dining companions and I went to Simon’s to check out the new menu. We were seated in the quiet dining room next to blazing fireplace. We started with crab dip which was chock full of pieces of lump crab. We also tried the fried cheese curds featuring cheese curds from Heber Valley cheese. The cheese curds melt under the crispy coating and are served with house made tomato basil soup to dip in. Yum! For dinner I ordered the fish special which was halibut. The fish was tender and flaky and perfectly cooked. Accompanying the halibut was sautéed kale and mushrooms and ‘cottage fries’ which were crispy brown chunks of potatoes. My dining companions all ordered prime rib which is available on Friday and Saturday nights in 8 or 12 oz portions. All three loved the thick cut of meat. The prime rib is served with a baked potato and Brussels sprouts. We shared two desserts. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but the apple donuts knocked my socks off. Much like an Italian zepppole, the apple donuts were small pillows of fried dough rolled in cinnamon and sugar. We also ordered a ‘Charleston Chew’, a blondie served piping hot in a cast iron skillet topped with butterscotch and ice cream.
