Terrible service! Walked into the restaurant and was greeted with the backs of disinterested hostesses. I want to see faces. Got sat. Waited 10 minutes for a drinks order… swatted flies… not 3 flies… more like 15 flies. Ordered the gooseburger… it was good. Husband ordered fish. It was not good. We will not return.

Awesome little place set in downtown Midway with railroad tracks running through Main Street. Due to kids wanting to, ended up sitting outside in late October. Our server, James, was fantastic. Very attentive, extremely friendly and great with kids. He did not rush us in any way. Had appetizers of their chicken wings and Spinach Dip. Chicken wings were the best I have had in the 17 years I have lived in Kentucky. The Spinach Dip was served on top of 6 toasted bread slices which is novel since every other place serves it in a dish and then gives bread chips to dip with. It’s was so awesome my 8 year old loved it. We ate the specials which was a Ribeye topped with blu cheese with a side of fries. The steak was cooked properly as ordered however the outside of it had a burnt taste to it and the outside was visibly burnt in areas. They do not have a kids menu which is a knock. They split the pizza special which was a 4 meat pizza. This was awesome. Thickest pepperoni, I have ever seen. Great thin pizza which is also rare in Kentucky. Desert consisted of two slices of cheesecake. One Smores which is not as sweet as you would think which makes it awesome. The other a huge slice of Caramel Apple which tasted just like homemade Apple Pie.

OK so this is a joint my NY buddy turned me on to – and my KY friend had never heard of it-so we went after Keeneland. I mean the middle of nowhere-we got there via 60 off Versailles leaving the track(not so bad off Highway 64) but I still mean in the middle of nowhere-this charming, quaint, dare I say almost romantic place-crowded-and still in the middle of nowhere. Food is good-runs the gamut from gourmet nightly entrees to burgers/sandwiches/salads and they seem to do quite a pizza business as well(had not been there in 4 or 5 yrs-I don’t remember the pizzas) and a beautiful bar as well. Shame it was warm-had the fireplace been burning it would have only added to the place. Fried chicken/pecan salad for me-its was pretty good-the balsamic dressing was whipped into a jelly-like consistency-interesting-although I would probably opt for grilled chicken next time. The Mouse got a black bean burger and was on it like Stevie Wonder on the harmonica-I don’t know if she ever put it down-guess it was good. Krinkle fries-taste like they are fried in the same oil as the chicken-yes that is a good and tasty thing! Anyway-this place is a real gem for those willing to do a bit of exploring. Nice outside seating as well-and dog friendly. I will gladly make the 1 hr run from Highlands to go back again!

We enjoyed eating at Grey Goose. Loved the atmosphere indoors and the patio in front. Had the fish & chips which were good.

One of the restaurants on Midway’s main(ahem, only) stretch, the Grey Goose is appropriate for almost all occasions. This place is a great compromise between a countryside restaurant and a Modern American bar. The menu has salads, sandwiches, and a couple entrées, but the pizza menu is where it’s at. NY style flat crust pizza — the topping combinations are well thought-out and far superior to your boring go-to’s at Dominoes. Atmosphere is family friendly, but also appropriate for a casual date or drinks with your buddies. The inside has a slightly rustic, country feel and the outdoor patio is spacious and awesome for lunch. They have a great beer menu with local favorites like Ky Ale and West 6th, complete with a cocktail list executed by their full-time bartender. Definitely worth a try.

Service was good, location is great. Pizza has a great thin crust, great meat toppings, sparse onion topping, and not enough sauce. It was very, very greasy, though. I mean dripping off the pizza! The chicken fingers starter with fries came straight out of a box in the freezer. Average at best. Overall disappointing, when it should be so much more. They seem to be doing the minimum while others around them are striving to be the best. Give them a try.

Overpriced, otherwise I would have given this a 5. Pizza is really yummy, though.

A favorite place of ours! Great food, casual and pleasant atmosphere, even has outdoor seating. Service is always friendly. Food is consistent too. Whether burgers, pizza or a dinner, we’ve always been happy there.

Great service, friendly staff. The«goose burger» is great! The fried mushrooms and wings are tasty too. The pizzas are pretty disappointing however– I usually love thin crust pizza but their crust is so thin and dry– like a thin cracker. Overall fun place to go to have a drink and good bar food on a nice patio.

I recently had lunch here with a friend — I had the fish & chips, my friend had the pizza. The pizza was a decent representation of New York style, thin-crust pizza. The toppings weren’t distributed evenly, and the center of the pizza was heavy and wet. This is a kitchen problem, and I would ask specifically next time for them to distribute the toppings evenly, which would solve the problem. The pizza tasted very good. The fish & chips, for $ 12.95, consisted of 2 small fish sticks, lots of fries, 4 small hush puppies(very dark — fried too long) and about ¼ cup of coleslaw. This is not a $ 12.95 entrée. I thought it might have been just a problem with my lunch, but at the table next to us 3 people were having the fish & chips and their baskets all looked the same. I realize that we are in Kentucky. I realize that fresh fish could possibly be hard to get. But, the main ingredient in fish & chips IS, unfortunately, the fish. So, if you can’t serve at least a good portion size of fish, don’t charge so much. If I had just been reviewing the pizza, my review would have been 3 stars because of the aforementioned problems with the pizza, and the sticky surfaces of tables, chairs, and doors, and the slow service. These are management problems, not kitchen problems, that need to be addressed. I notice that Grey Goose is usually busy, which would seem to indicate that either the food is good or there is a lack of other dining options in Midway… this latter statement is definitely not true. Heirloom, a few doors away, is a delicious alternative, and if I ever want fish & chips again I will head to Wallace Station. Grey Goose, I will try you one more time. I hope you will make a better impression.

We tried their chicken finger appetizers, which were alright. Their pizzas are pretty good. There were flies in the restaurant which wasn’t the best. It might be because they had their windows open. There is outdoor seating which could be nice. It’s in midtown, which is a super cute area with lots of boutiques. Street parking is also super easy.

The Midway location of Grey Goose has a nice ambiance and serves the same excellent thin crust as the other locations. Unfortunately the service we had at the Midway location this last visit was awful. When you repeatedly have to flag down other servers to get silverware and refills, there are some problems. When you repeatedly ask your absentee server for condiments and water and never have them delivered, there are more problems. When half an order is missing and the appetizer ordered and eaten by one couple is added in part to the bill of the other couple, the service is just plain poor. If you want to try the food at Grey Goose, go to the Lexington location. The Midway location gets 2 stars only because of the ambiance and food –not the service.

Midway is one of my very favorite places to go! The town is super cute and the atmosphere is great. The Grey Goose always has great foo d but the service isn’t always great at this location. On this trip we got our pizza and our salads at the same time, even though the waiter asked if we wanted the salads out first. But do try the Pesto Pizza. It is awesome.

Excellent humble dining option suggested by the Swans Nest B & B. The pizza was crisp, & thin(as it should be) cooked fresh and very tasty. The bourbon influenced beer hit the spot and the place was packed by locals… sure was a good sign! Would I go back… YES!

I’ve been to this location several times. It is a little ways out from Lexington but worth the drive out. The atmosphere is like nothing in Lexington. The patrons seem to be regulars and all know each other and the service is great as well. I’ve had the pizza which was an excellent, it’s a light version of a brick oven style… unlike any pizza that I’ve had in Lexington. The bean burger is excellent too.

The food wasn’t bad, but I knocked off three stars for the following reasons and for these reasons I will not return. 1. We paid $ 11 for fish and chips(not a bad price), but we only received about 1 ½ tablespoons of coleslaw with the meal though they list it as a side to the meal. Cheap, cheap, cheap in my book. 2. One of the hostess messed up when seating a large group and the manager chewed her out in front of everyone. Completely and totally inappropriate behavior for any manager let alone in front of quests. I am glad I don’t work for him and if I owned this place would’ve fired him on the spot. 3. Several of our dishes were chipped, which I think in the food industry is not allowed and our waiter looked at use like we were nuts for even mentioning it. I honestly am not sure how in the world they have received 4 – 5 stars. They do have numerous TV ‘s so many might consider them more of a sports bar.

We had a group of six for lunch. We ordered the fish and chips, fish sandwich a couple of salads and a grilled chicken sandwich. There wee only 4 other tables of guest. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. When we got the fish and chips. The tartar sauce was nearly all mayonnaise. It had no flavor. The fish was over-cooked and a dark brown. The Caesars salad dressing had no anchovies flavor. Again seemed like just mayonnaise rather than Caesar dressing. I’m guessing they lost their cook and the one back in the kitchen had no idea how to make anything. It was a waste of money. The service was friendly. But I would never go back because the food lacked any sort of flavor.
