I’ve always loved friendlys as a child so it’s so sad to see everything go down hill with them. First it took the waiter like 5+ minutes for the waiter to even come to our table. We orders 2 waters and a banana split. Another 5+ minutes later our drinks aren’t even at the table and some random woman comes over and tells us they’re out of bananas. Friendly’s is an ice cream place and your trying to tell me you have no bananas. We just left because it’s a disgrace of a restaurant. Plus the tables are sticky and it has a smell.

Zero stars is more like it… Where to begin with this place… The whole experience I got from here went from bad to worse. We started off by waiting at least 20 minutes to be seated, while empty tables remained filthy and covered with dishes. We ordered food, which took 20 minutes for a waiter to finally appear, and then we waited some more. Probably a good 45 minutes to an hour for one sandwich and some not-so-«endless» popcorn shrimp. Our food finally arrived, and we were once again stranded without a waiter. It took him another 45 minutes to come back to our table, meanwhile the waitstaff was collectively inattentive and was too distracted with their own personal conversations and concerns to help the tables around us. When we finally had enough and our patience ran out, we politely asked for the check, which took a great deal of time to collect. It took over 3 hours from the time we walked in until the time we were able to leave. The manager was just as big of a joke as the rest of the staff. They all seemed like they had no idea where they were or what was going on. I never in my life had such an awful experience.

I’m writing this review as I’m sitting in the booth. First off, as soon as I walked in, there was a wait… not bad 10 minutes I can’t complain. But I realized the wait was because none of the tables were clean. People weren’t even sitting at the tables, they were just completely unattended and forgotten about. So we had to wait because the bussers couldn’t do their job? Secondly, when I finally was able to sit down, my table was soaking wet. They must have just cleaned the table. Also, there was only one set of silverware… meaning I had to go out of my way to ask for a damn fork. Thirdly, the appetizer I got was the loaded waffle fries. More like, TGI Fridays box of waffle fries with slices of half melted cheddar cheese that you can get at Walmart. Myself and my boyfriend both agreed that the taste was putrid. As I am still sitting in the booth waiting for my entrees, I hope that the rest of my experience will be somewhat better. PS I’ve been waiting 20 minutes for my food now. PSS I feel the staff has no clue where they are or how to do their job It’s so unfortunate because I loved Friendlys as a kid.

I wish there was a 0 star for this place. We just left at this establishment. Our server looked like she was on meth, it was like I was in tn again. Where all the restaurants servers are meth addicts. Took her awhile to take our order which was simple. Forgot about our appetizer and sons lemonade and food. So we got our entrees first. Ever since she dropped it off she was no where to be found, but probably in the back smoking crack or something. We had to go up to the front to ask for a check and the waitress never returned … This place is asking to be shut down.

Poor take out skills, order wrong. Order was written down and they still got it wrong. How hard it it to copy from paper to ticket. Disappointed

The worst friendly i have ever been to in my life. Bathroom are dirty, ceiling are dirty, food took one hour to get plus it was the wrong order soo had to wait another 10min. The waiters doesn’t care for the customer. And the food was just terrible. This place should just be shut down for giving friendly’s a bad name.

I have great memories of eating at a Friendly’s close to where my parents live, so I was almost hoping to have that same sort of experience stopping in one day with my brother, his wife and kids and my mom. We were looking for something quick to feed the kids that also had the option for ice cream afterwards. Anyone who’s from New England knows that Friendly’s is usually the go to for those two things! We walked in to this particular location and immediately were hit with the smell of urine or wet carpet smell. Only because we had the kids with us, who were already half cranky from just having a swim lesson, we decided to take a seat. The waitress was nice enough, catering to the kids, seeing that they were almost ready for a meltdown. She brought over placemats they could color on and drinks in kiddy cups. We quickly placed our order for food and waited. My brother and I both ordered and chipotle chicken sandwich, my sister in law ordered a turkey burger, my mom ordered a tuna roll and the kids got mac and cheese and a hot dog. Not the healthiest of selection, but what do you expect from Friendly’s. As we waited, the temperature of the restaurant seemed to go up. We kept an eye on the thermostat that was near our table and it slowly went from 75 degree F to 78. I looked at my brother and mentioned that I was literally sweating and he agreed it was hot. We finished our food and quickly ordered ice cream to cool down. My brother ordered a sour patch kid monstrosity, I ordered a reeses pieces sundae, my mom ordered a scoop of chocolate ice cream, my sister in law, a new toffee sundae and the babies got, what we thought was going to be a kids clown cone and it they ended up getting two scoops of strawberry ice cream in a double cone. Whoa ice cream overload! After we cooled down a bit, and before the kids had a sugar tired educed meltdown, we flagged our waitress down and headed out. Friendly’s is good for ice cream, but I’d skip the food, as it’s pretty unhealthy and pretty much all fried.

Attention Milford CT Friendly’s Employees: A Reese Peanut Butter Cup sundae is made with PEANUTBUTTER!!! This Friendly’s in Milford CT is getting worse and worse. I was looking forward to a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup sundae all day. I asked for a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup sundae and when I got home I saw that they gave me ice cream with about a spoonful of fudge, a peanut butter cup at the bottom, NOPEANUTBUTTERTOPPING!!! and a banana thrown in for good measure. There was also a long wait at the take out counter. I am so disappointed I do not even want a free replacement. It is very difficult to screw up ice cream, but this Friendly’s managed to do it!!! Friendlys food is pretty bad, but the ice cream was good, but now after this I have totally lost the taste for it. HELLO??? A Reese Peanut Butter Cup sundae is made with PEANUTBUTTER!!! It is not rocket science, and if you have employes who do not understand this, they should probably do us all a favor and look for another job. Wish I could give zero stars! Milford CT employees, please try to remember: A Reese Peanut Butter Cup sundae is made with PEANUTBUTTER!!!

the food at friendlies is pretty standard, nothing special. The burgers are pretty good, but the other food is more of «Cafeteria» food. It is just pretty plain, and after eating there I had a stomache ache later. It just leaves you with a bad feeling. The restuarant is also not very clean. The carpets were dirty and there was an awkward smell in the air. The only saving grace was the ice cream. The ice cream at friendlies is very good. I got the peanut butter cup«Cyclone»(I think) which was delicous.

I have been here two times, and both times I have had lackluster experiences. My visit here was filled with neglect by the staff. Upon entering a relatively empty restaurant on a Sunday morning, I had to wait several minutes before a waiter would seat my party. After being seated it took an additional inordinate amount of time to take our order. The food also took a longer-than-usual time. Both my friend and I had ordered a simple egg dish for breakfast, and it took almost 40 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. This wasn’t steak or other fine dining-it was eggs. It took far longer than I expected. When the food did arrive, my friend and I realized we didn’t have any eating utensils. We had to flag down our waiter to get a set of forks and knives. I know that my complaints about this place are minor. But many minor negative nuisances can amount to a large negative experience. I dine out to be waited on. It’s this service that I pay for. Employee interaction aside, the food was what I expected from Friendly’s. Standard dishes at decent prices. Delicious and filling. The food was nothing special, but it wasn’t terrible either. It is what I expected from a chain family restaurant. No surprises here. You get what you pay for. Perhaps the poor service I received were just terrible coincidences, but two bad experiences is enough to turn me off to a business. The food was good, but the service was poor.

So I am driving my auntie back to NYC from RI and we want a quick bite to eat and I think of Friendly’s for two reasons. One was that my parents who usually tend towards fancy restaurants stopped in at one on the way back from Boston two weeks ago and were stunned by the low prices and decent quality, and two that I had read yesterday that they had declared bankruptcy. So as much out of curiosity as anything else, we pull off at this one. And you know for less than $ 8 I enjoyed a decent cheese burger deluxe with coleslaw which they allowed me to have instead of the fries that came with it and two huge diet cokes(which meant three pit stops before getting home :-), it was a good deal. And had I been thinner, the $ 10 for the burger, fries, soda and ice cream would likewise have been a great deal. Our waitress was very nice and the wait for food was not too bad. Also the bathrooms were quite clean. I did glance in the kitchen, and the floor was a mess, which is why I gave them 3 instead of 4 stars. So I hope Friendly’s makes it through chapter 11, because I would definitely stop in again!

Bit of trivia: Friendly Ice Cream Corporation opened the first Friendly’s Ice Cream Shoppe in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1935. I like friendly’s when I want to eat to forget and then want to forget the next day what I ate. The sundaes are great, bonus if you get one for free by ordering a supermelt or the like.
