Hannaford

Hannaford has the best prices in Milford. Market Basket has better prices, but the closest one is in Bellingham and is in a very congested and difficult to maneuver location. The front end staff is super friendly and, for the most, efficient. They do have a few inept baggers, who go very slow and do not understand general bagging principles. I typically go on Saturdays, and they have too many guys stocking shelves in the aisles. Those guys need a good dose of understanding customer courtesy. Some will line up more than a couple of trucks with boxes and make it nearly impossible to get at items. This is especially true of the guys stocking the yogurts. They block access and give the vibe of «leave — I need to get my job done.» I get that it is probably challenging for them to stock the shelves while customers are there. But, customers buy the product, so they should more strategically position their trucks for better traffic flow. In the grocery aisles there is one menacing worker. I am honestly not sure if it is a a woman or a man. That person barrels down the aisles with an attitude of «you had better get out of my f — ing way.» I had heard that person ranting about someone’s fussy little kid. I do think that person should work in the meat room or some other area where customer interaction does not occur. With Stop & Shop in the process of buying out Hannaford, I will likely have to find a new place to shop. Stop & Shop has the worst prices short of Whole Foods Market and will not go there.

As far as conventional grocery stores go, I like the local hannafords best. They offer local produce, and the most natural products of the conventional stores (without preservatives). At one point, I put in a request for natural wraps, and they now provide them. I like the natural food section and I like the fact that it is segregated. Would like more fresh fish, as opposed to fresh frozen. Good prices on many products.

All staff are extremely friendly, all of the departments are fully stocked. Only complaint is that they could DEFINITELY do renovations soon, it’s becoming to look not-​so-​great (yet Stop&Shop in the Quarry Mall on Route 16 is older and worse!)
Overall, great supermarket, and better than the Norwood Hannaford.

Clean and courteous, but the stock can be out at times. Because sales have slowed, some of the out dates can be too short. Bakery is weak-​deli is strong.

They have some of the best prices in town but beyond that there is nothing special about this store. The bakery and produce selections are small. The store could use a good cleaning or renovation. And just once I’d like to get home without a bag breaking.
