the place overall is really good. some of the flavors however are overpowering and take away from the mac and cheese. the mac dog and mac and cheese bites are amazing. they get your orders out super quick as well

Fun place with great selections. I’ve tried their buffalo Mac and lobster Mac. Both are very good, would recommend the buffalo Mac for taste and value.

Great tasting food! We had the backyard, grandma’s, and chicken and broccoli. Delicious! The grandmas is classic with breadcrumbs. Slight garlic flavor. The backyard is yummy. The pork had a lot of flavor. The chicken and broccoli is similar to an alfredo. Great comfort food.

I was in Connecticut for a concert for the weekend so on my way home(New Jersey) i had a huge craving for Mac n Cheese. I usually go to Smac in NYC but since we were a long way from there I asked my boyfriend to find a place around Connecticut and this place popped up. The parking lot is small. Maybe they have more space in the back? Anyway, walking in, the place is super clean. The only small issue was that the floor was semi sticky near the fountain drinks but that can be resolved! I ordered the Cheeseburger Mac without the ketchup or mustard and just a little bit of pickle chips. It was very good. It definitely satisfied my craving! The cashier Sean was super attentive and very friendly which is always a plus. When i am back in the area, i will definitely be coming here again!

I was looking for some good Mac n Cheese and I Stumbled across this location. I decided to give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed as far as the food goes. The cashier wasn’t all that friendly and she seemed kind of annoyed having to take my order. Regardless, food was great! I had the buffalo Mac with chicken… Soooo good! The prices are fair, and a small is plenty for one person.

Great food! Friendly service! Very clean! The Nutcracker Mac was devine. Sweet almonds complemented the smokey notes of expertly melted gouda.

I’m a huge fan of the traditional boxed mac’n’cheese from the supermarket so this restaurant caught my eye. It’s a great twist on a classic that everybody loves. My wife got Grandma’s Mac and I got the Fourth of July Mac. Both were delicious and very filling. There are so many options available that there is something for everybody and I am interested in coming back to try more. Like another reviewer suggested, the seasonal options are cool but I would be excited to see some more options that really push the envelope. Obviously not the healthiest option for food(sorry to be a downer) so not great for frequent visits but it’s a fun alternative when I’m feeling naughty. Plus, when we were there, there were two groups of kids that were very noisy and made us happy to leave. I know this isn’t necessarily the establishment’s problem but it did have a negative effect on our experience. That said, I would encourage everybody to check it out at least once and judge for yourselves, I’m sure you’ll find something that excites you and it’s a great concept.

I shared the chili mac, the philicheese streak mac, and the Mac dog. I drove 50 minutes to get here and it was totally worth it! Customer service was great he explained the full menu with the popular items and his favorites. We went with the mini versions of everything, that was the perfect size.

I placed a to-go order at Mac N’ Out for my boyfriend and I; we ordered 2 small/mini macaroni and cheese dishes(Buffalo Chicken Mac, Chicken and Broccoli Mac) and 2 appetizers(Gobbler Bites [November special], Mac Jalapeños). Their policy stating that if you are placing a telephone order, you must pay with your credit card over the phone if your order is over $ 20 is annoying and inconvenient; I understand that they don’t want to lose money by making food for no-shows, but they are probably losing more money with the amount of people that choose something more convenient over Mac N’ Out. I am not going to read my credit card number to a stranger over the phone for security reasons. Because we weren’t in a rush, we waited to order at the restaurant. The location doesn’t have any unique ambiance, it’s just a very bright yellow colour with minimal and disjointed seating. I also think they could have a better sign out front that stands out more. There was only one employee working the front and he was very frantic– running around to give previous customers forgotten items, taking orders for items then having to apologize because they didn’t have enough of the ingredient(hotdogs) available. Nonetheless, when I ordered he was polite and thorough. Waiting for my order took about 10 – 15 minutes(it was around 7PM on a Monday). On to the food itself: For 2 appetizers and 2 small macaroni dishes(I encourage you if you are only looking to feed yourself, a small is enough) it was just short of $ 30– not a bad price. My boyfriend is a big fan of their Mac Jalapeños and the Buffalo Mac which he has had before. It was my first time having Mac N’ Out and I thought their November-inspired appetizer was neat and did remind me of Thanksgiving in flavor. The only negative was that the pieces of turkey were very obviously either frozen or canned because they were in perfect squares– why not just use fresh turkey? This isn’t kobe beef or lobster we’re talking about. I also think it could’ve been better had there been more stuffing and a side of gravy dipping sauce. My mac and cheese itself was cheesy and pretty flavorful, but was not mind-blowing. It could’ve been better with a breadcrumb baked topping, instead of just sprinkling toasted breadcrumbs on top. I think Mac N’ Out has a lot of potential to be better than it is. Regardless of the legal controversy with MacDaddy’s– even though it isn’t fair to steal someone’s concept and brand it your own, at the end of the day, customers will flock to where the food is good, plain and simple. Even if MacDaddy’s was there first, if the food isn’t satisfying, people will seek out other options. I encourage Mac N’ Out to be more creative with their dishes. Macaroni and Cheese is simple in nature and there are pros and cons to that– it’s easy to f**k it up, but there’s so many things you can do with it(i.e.: Indian cuisine has paneer cheese– how about a mac and cheese that has paneer and you can have chicken tikka masala or a vegetarian one with potatoes and peas similar to a samosa filling? A Thai-inspired mac and cheese? Some more vegetarian or vegan options? etc. Just a few ideas– and don’t worry I won’t sue you if you use one of them.(;) We will probably return and I look forward to see if they make any changes.

Very good mac and cheese. I like the more traditional varieties than the ones with tons of ingredients. Those are good for a few bites, but then it can be too rich and have too many competing flavors. It is better than MacDaddy’s in my oppinion, but similiar.

Who doesn’t love a good Mac and cheese? I sure do, but some days I don’t want to cook and clean. This solves that issue for a comfort food craving. I like the buffalo chicken and the French onion dishes. The price is a little steep but I usually get two meals out of one visit which makes it worth it. Great service. Just wish I didn’t have to recite my cc number when ordering on the phone just to show up and still have to swipe it. Update– owner messaged me to explain the cc policy. I will now be decreasing my rating because an establishment that has to defend their actions is unprofessional and just silly. As a business owner I would expect gratitude for a positive review not nitpicking one small critical comment.

Delicious Mac & Cheese that will rock your world. Fast service. Clean and neat which is always great. The girl at the counter is always on her toes when it comes to keeping the place tidy. They have the best tea called«Joe Tea». I recently moved to the North East from Texas so it’s always nice to find a place that has great tea. I will be coming back soon.

Simple Concept, many options, delicious Mac and cheese! A bit pricy for what it really is but I’ve had a few different types now and they are all very very good. Call ahead is a nice feature.

I really enjoy mac n’ cheese concept businesses since I am able to get some nice crafted dishes you would definitely not get at other places unless it was a plain ol’ mac n’ cheese. This is a great addition to the Milford area. I tried their lobster mac to go. Called in the order and it was ready upon arrival; went straight home and the dish was still steaming hot. The lobster pieces were nothing out of the ordinary, the cheese was fantastic though. The portion was very nice, but I did find the prices to be a little more on the expensive side for pasta. Still, that wouldn’t stop me from going again. Definitely enjoyed the food.

This is a fun concept! Just mac’n’cheese variations, but so many and so tasty! The place reminded me of Noodles & Company, It’s quirky and fun. I had the limited edition summer special Caribbean Mac, with coconut shrimp and fontina cheese and my girlfriend went for the Backyard BBQ Mac with pulled pork, fontina, gruyère and swiss cheeses. They were both excellent, and very filling. Apparently, there’s a similar rival restaurant, but I see no reason to not continue visiting this one, with its wide selection of dishes and affordable prices. Hopefully they expand quick and come to Orlando!

Fast, cooked to order and creative. Gluten free and regular pasta. Liked buffalo chicken, clam casino, and scallop Mac. Nice mix of quality cheese and flavor. Nice way to end a day of Milford shopping!

While I hate to give negative feedback to a place after only visiting once, I feel it’s my duty to inform potential new customers that might be considering locations for the first time. I know I appreciate being well informed. I’m not from the area, and I was looking for some lunch to take to work so I could have leftovers for dinner as well. I got the medium lobster mac(harbah) and while it definitely served its purpose in feeding me for multiple meals, it was definitely not worth the $ 26 price tag. It was a bit bland for my taste and it sat pretty heavily. The taste was just fine, but I was expecting better even though reviews told me exactly what I was in for. Unfortunately, the biggest turn off other than the price was the fact that there were several pieces of lobster shell in my food. That really sucks because sometimes you just don’t want to be so careful eating mac and cheese. Hurt my teeth multiple times and got kind of grossed out at almost swallowing a larger piece of shell which looked and felt a lot like a shrimp tail rather than lobster. The service was decent, but the restaurant seemed a little empty. I was the only one there ordering to go and nobody but the cook and a server were sitting down to eat. Strange for a place that’s supposed to be good. It was a Monday at 3:00PM but I expected more. Sorry Mac n Out, but I don’t think I’ll be recommending you and I really doubt I will be back.

We hadn’t planned on stopping here, but I’m glad that we did. The original plan was to hit Mr. Cold Cuts, further up Rt. 1. Unfortunately, they are closed on Sundays. We were looking for something a little different than the local chain restaurants. I checked Unilocal for area restaurants, and came up with Mac N’ Out. My husband tried the Chili Mac(he’s a traditionalist), I had the Lobster Mac and the little guy had the Mac Bites. Cheesy, yummy goodness! I had to ask about the lobster, before I ordered it. It’s real! The ratio of lobster to pasta was perfect. The meals came out in individual skillets. The small portion is probably enough for two(if you split a salad). I wouldn’t know. I ate the entire thing… and I would do it again! The Chili Mac was exactly as I expected, cheesy and chili-e! The Bites(3 to an order) were fried to a golden perfection. They were crunchy on the outside, warm and gooey in the center and covered with a great sauce sauce. Looking forward to our next trip to the Milford area!

Finally made it to Mac N’ Out for lunch yesterday, after my co-worker Unilocaled about it last year and highly recommended it. I was very impressed with the interior, which was very modern looking and absolutely spotless. The floors, tables and whole place was extremely clean. I was glad I studied the menu online prior to going in there, because the menu board(descriptions) were a little small and I would have been awkwardly squinting to read each description. Maybe it’s just me and my eyes, but I recommend knowing what you want before entering. I got my lunch as a to-go order and got the smallest size of the buffalo mac. Sizes come in small(mini-mac), medium(mid-mac) and large(mac n’ out). Like others have stated, the smallest size is deceiving… looks too small, but it is more like 2 servings(I had it for lunch and dinner!). The have about 15 standard flavors and they had a special chicken bacon ranch mac advertised on the counter. Definitely something for everyone! My buffalo mac was steaming hot, even 10 minutes after getting back to my office. It was a perfect blend of spicy-ness and cheesy-ness. The chicken mixed in was also very tender and all the flavors mixed well together. I’m happy to have found another great lunch place!
