When Cold Stone Creamery closed down in Anderson, I shed a tear. Actually, I shed multiple tears. I bawled. Ice cream is really worth tearing up over ya know? Then I remembered Marble Slab was in Milford, and I thought it was my saving grace. It’s not technically part of the Marble Slab-Maggie Moo’s chain but it does the same thing, where you can mix in toppings of your choice. The interior of the shop isn’t overly inviting, but it’s clean and that’s good enough for me. The menu and flavors aren’t anything over the top. They have your cake batter, butter pecan, etc. and different mix ins such as candy bars, fruit, cakes, brownies, etc. I stick to my usual, cake batter with kit kats & peanuts, sometimes in waffle cone. The ice cream isn’t anything to write home about, but it gets the job done. All in all it’s a solid ice cream shop with friendly employees and you can get ice cream mixed in with whatever you like. Nothing fancy or crazy delicious, but it’s okay.

This is a «select your own mix-ins» place, in the style of Cold Stone Creamery or Maggie Moo’s. This approach to ice cream usually ends up being more expensive than picking existing flavors, but can be fun if you have a unique combination of mix-ins/toppings you like. I’m pretty traditional in my flavor preferences, so I don’t usually seek out these places, but this one is convenient to the Milford movie theater so can be part of a fun date/outing. We were the only customers when we went so service was quick and I found the ice cream to be of good quality, but nothing exceptional. Wide range of mix-in options available. There are a few places to sit inside or a bench just outside the door if you prefer to enjoy your ice cream outside.

Pretty good ice cream, I had a scoop of rum and cinnamon vanilla while my gf got a sweet cream with fresh strawberry mixed in. The waffle cone itself was just alright. Anyway worth every calorie. Great after a movie. I was irked that there are no drinks being sold(I tend to need water after ice cream)

If you are craving an ice cream this place is not worth the calories. I ordered the chocolate and peanut butter combination and it had absolutely no flavor; very low quality. Not only was it low quality, it was $ 4.50! Graeter’s isn’t even that much. I actually pitched it and went to Graeter’s on the way home. There is a UDF close by and you are better going there or driving to Graeter’s in Anderson. I hate to give a bad review. The guy was nice and the place was clean…

I don’t think its worth a special trip, but the Marble Slab Creamery ice creams and desserts are better than at any of the nearby restaurants. After a movie or dinner at any of the restuarants in the same business plaza, I’d highly recommend stopping at Marble Slab to top off the night. Only complaint is the ice cream is so large, you can’t take it back to your car without risking a huge mess.
