What is better than a cupcake? A store that specializes in cupcakes! When I step into a cupcake bakery, I immediately feel overwhelmed by all of the delicious choices in front of me. Sugar Cupcakery has taken away all my anxiety by offer mini cupcakes. GENIUS! They run $ 1.99 each, but they have deals if you purchase a specific amount. This means that I can get one of every single flavor, take them to go, and then gorge on them in the privacy of my own home(to hide my shame from the world). I’ve tried several flavors, but I personally enjoy the Maple Blueberry and the Cappuccino. If you want to try a more unique flavor but aren’t much into gambling $ 1.99, check in with your Unilocal app and get one free mini cupcake. But beware, the employees often act very confused and unsure when you present it to them. I always feel like I’m robbing them of a delicious snack treat against their will. What really sets Sugar Cupcakery apart from the others are their organic ingredients and unique flavor combinations. I recently tried a Sweet Potato Bourbon cupcake and a Chocolate Pancetta cupcake. Both were delicious. Don’t shy away from the flavors that make you unsure. I promise that they’ve been taste tested and approved before making it to the display case. The downside to this establishment are the employees. They all seem to be high school students who seem less than interested in customer service. There are a few that are friendly and helpful, but I’ve dealt with several who just seem annoyed when I walk in. Don’t get me wrong, these cupcakes are totally worth dealing with poor customer service.

Wife and kid seemed to like the cupcakes. No one there when we walked in at 9pm. No less than 5 fruit flies in the cases with the cupcakes! Not appealing. Not sure they need to be open until 10pm on Friday or Saturday. Ghost town!

The food is absolutely delicious. I love that the bakers are adventurous with the flavor combinations and they always turn out amazing. I took off a star because trying to find out when they have some of the cool flavors is next to impossible. You don’t know the flavors until day of. Another downside is that the service here is always just this side of terrible. The counter seems to be staffed by apathetic teenagers who take pains to let you know how annoying it is that they have to perform their job. I love the cupcakes here, I really wish their staff would grow up and realize how customer service works. When we tried to redeem the free mini cupcake with check in, the bored teenager behind the counter insisted that we had to buy six to get the free one even though there were no such stipulations on the offer. Some offers come with small print, this one did not. Yet the girl insisted that we had to buy six. We are ok with small print as long as it is included in the offer. In this case it seemed that the extra terms were being made up on the spot. We were there to buy some anyway, but wifey did not redeem hers since we were not going to buy a dozen cupcakes to end up with 14 of them. Way to turn a small indulgence into an experience that leaves a bad taste.

The cupcakes themselves are five stars. I want to love this place so much. I even picked it as the site for my proposal. The bakers that I dealt with were amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and all around awesome. Now, as this is a special place for us, we return and are often disappointed. They have amazing flavors but you never know when they are available and the fun interesting ones never seem to be there when we go. The flavors seem to be very similar on a given day. Today the majority seemed to be a variation on vanilla(4 out of 6 flavors) They did have the Maple Blueberry which is phenomenal, but we were hoping to get a box with some variety. Also they staff behind the counter are never very friendly. They aren’t engaged or interested. We will be back but really hope for more of their amazing flavors. Or maybe some advance notice so we can plan a trip over.

Definitely the best cupcakery in Cincinnati. Always have lots of options, and the icing to cake ratio is perfect, unlike Gigi’s. Service is always great, location is cute. Definitely always recommend.

We stopped in for dessert cupcakes on a Saturday afternoon and were a little surprised at their limited selection. We ordered the four mini cupcakes for $ 6.00, and this included every single mini cupcake they had available. The cupcakes were okay, not the best ever. They weren’t overly sweet, but they were a bit dry. The flavors were simple overall, and the cupcakes were relatively simple in appearance.

One of the few places where I can pop in for a gluten free treat that is actually very good! Highly recommend them and always stop by whenever I’m in Old Milford!

Had this for the first time today. The cupcakes were delicious. I recommend the banana chocolate. They do however sell mostly chocolate cupcakes so if you want more variety this may not be the place for you.

We can’t spend any time in Old Milford without my daughter asking when we’re going to get a cupcake from Sugar Cupcakery. This is, by far, the best place to get a cupcake in the Cincinnati area– and the perfect way to wrap up your visit to the shops and restaurants on Main Street in Old Milford. The cupcakes are a little pricey(hence the 4 stars vs. 5, and the reason we don’t stop there more often), but I’ve never met a cupcake from here that I didn’t like.

Had my first taste of their cupcakes at our local Street Fair and was hooked. My daughter and I watch Cupcake Wars and they were on that show before. Not only are the cupcakes delicious, but they use natural ingredients which set off the flavors.

Sugar Cupcakery focuses on chocolate cakes it seems… Chocolate Hazelnut, chocolate truffle, vegan chocolate mint, vanilla bean, chocolate stout. The owners that made this a strong showing on the popular show«Cupcake Wars» have moved. They have left this place to be managed by others. #Fail! I bet this place was great in it’s prime. Unfortunately it has lost the passion from the original owners. The cupcakes were dry. Was it bad because we visited late Saturday, and they are closed Monday and Tuesday? Not sure. But the limited options and bad first experience will keep us from coming again. Too bad too, as this location is perfectly situated in the quaint little river town of Milford, where time stands still. Unfortunately, the cupcakes do too.

Awesome cupcakes, but I must agree that I felt they tasted«leftover» almost stale/dry. I imagined a more moist cupcake… I did love the free mini, therefore I bumped the 2 stars to 3 :)

I drive past this shop all the time and today decided to finally stop in for a look. So glad I did as a look, turned into a purchase. Happy to see that they make a standard cupcake and a miniature version of each cupcake. Perfect for folks who like to sample different flavors and types. I bought a mini chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and a mini banana with salted caramel frosting. Both were fresh and delicious with the banana being most unique and memorable! 4 stars for the surly young lady behind the counter who did not want to be bothered with questions from neither me nor the customer before me.

One of my favorite cupcakeries in town! What sets their cupcakes apart from all the other is they are organic! They use the freshest ingredients and as the old saying goes you get what you pay for! I have had the pleasure of trying almost all of them but my favorite is the Earl Grey. It actually has real tea in it! This places is the cat’s meow!

They have vegan and gluten free cupcakes. It’s a very cute little shop with a clear-cut style or image that it presents. Friendly staff, good selection. And, most importantly I guess, the cupcakes are darned good. Yes, even the vegan ones. Seriously. Moist, tasty and they have minis so you don’t need to feel too guilty stopping in. Or perhaps you want to pop a handful of cupcakes into your mouth at once just to say you can.

Ive tried«Sugar Cupakery» so many times. I want it to be good. How to explain it. Basically, everytime Ive ever tried to bake cupcakes it tasted just as good as this place. Maybe I’m not refined enough to enjoy their simple flavors. I do like crazy flavors. I like any type of candy or decadency you can cram in a cupcake. This place offers simple cupcakes and I feel let down, Still, its the most expensive cupcake place in the area. I just fill unfulfilled. It just seems relatively common. «Cupcakes» is a fad where you see lots of innovation and creativity. Sorry to say it, but i just feel like this place doesnt cut the cake(or «cut the cupcake»! Wheres my BROS to high five???). I will give this note. For some reason, the Gluten-free Cupcakes are more moist and delicious than the regular. Now, I dont understand why Gluten is bad or why 1 should avoid it(im not a freak-of-nature so i can eat any food that a human being can eat) but it is good. Why not just make standard cupcake without gluten? I dont know…

Like that their cupcakes are made with all natural and organic. I am also excited that they sell Vegan cupcake(tried chocolate, vanilla and earl grey, love the chocolate). I’ve tried other cupcakes– Milk chocolate truffle and Vanilla coconut. Very delicious! Beautiful décor and friendly staff. A bit pricey, but I like the fact that all cupcakes are made with organic ingredients. Cupcake is normal size. They also carry mini size cupcakes.

Five stars for possibly the best chocolate icing I have ever tasted… knocked down to 4-stars because I wish there was more icing. I will be honest, I really only eat cake for the icing. The chocolate truffle cupcake had amazing icing but there was still a wide band of cake on the top left uncovered by icing(although it was thick!). To be fair, I’m the person who piles on my whipped cream on sundaes so you may be completely satisfied with the amount of icing you get. The cake was good, though, so if you’re in it for the cake it’s still awesome. I still love the place, though. The setting in Old Milford is cute and the shop itself is absolutely adorable. Dangit, now I could really use a cupcake!

Is there anything better than a cupcake? No seriously, anything? Yes, as I’ve been told, they were«once in» and now they’re going out(«donuts are the new cupcakes, teehee!» *barf*) but cupcakes will always hold a place in my heart. They’re like a mini cake present that you unwrap to eat. How can any of that be bad? And one of my favorite cupcakes in this entire city from the adorable Sugar Cupcakery in Milford. This cupcake bakery is wonderful. It’s the smell that hits you first — that not-too-overly sweet smell of a well made dessert. You order from a sleek counter that has all their products displayed. Dear god it’s hard to choose. Everything they make is delicious(and organic!) The store is actually bigger than you realize. There’s a party room to your right for small events and then a really beautiful patio outside. If you’re feeling it, take your dessert and sit out there. You’ll thank me later. Sugar Cupcakery was on The Food Network’s «Cupcake Wars» and I was proud to have them represent my city! Yes, the prices are high — much higher than your normal batch of cupcakes. But you’re paying for quality of dessert and it’s all relative. If this makes you mad, then Milford has many a-Kroger. I’m sure they’re selling two-dollar packages of stale mini-cupcakes right now. Why are you so far away, Sugar Cupcakery! I almost never get to sample your deliciousness because of your location. Ah well … it’s probably for the best. My body would be so roly-poly if you lived closer that I might not even be able to get to your door.

Sugar Cupcakery is a cupcake bakery and café in downtown Milford. The cupcakes are great, if expensive. There were many interesting gourmet options. I got a banana bread cupcake with mascarpone icing, and my husband an apple cupcake with goat cheese icing. Sugar also serves a lovely collection of teas. Sugar Cupcakery opened Sept. 4th, and we visited them for the first time Sept. 5th. It still smells a little like paint in there, so it’s very new. The atmosphere was fun, hip and inviting, with the staff being super friendly and helpful. As they liked to point out, Sugar offers free wi-fi, so please bring your computer and load up on cupcakes. I believe their hours are 11 – 7, so no cupcakes to spoil your breakfast!
