Someone please call immigration! Find out if the waitresses are illegal aliens. The girls seem as though they are being held against their will. The worst so called waitresses even by Chinese buffet standards. Not friendly, no english, and demand tips after standing over you while you prepare to pay the check. I’m never going back. The fried fish was cold, tasteless, and chewy. Buffalo wings are glazed sodium mess.

Do you work in the mall? And/or desire variety from traditional fast food mall chains? Do you and your family enjoy a crowded Saturday afternoon in the mall? If you answer yes to any of those questions then this is probably the place for you! At first sight, I was pleasantly surprised by the large number of items on the buffet. At second sight, I realized that many of them had been sitting out untouched for hours. Guess I’ll start from 1 end to the other. Salad: brown and wilting lettuce. Discolored pineapple. Sushi: area wasn’t clean. Spilled sauces. There weren’t tongs for each type of sushi. half empty trays waiting for people to eat the final few pieces. I Love sushi, but I wouldn’t eat that. Hot: food was good when it was fresh, but upon taste i could tell which trays had been out there for a while. Most labels weren’t what was actually underneath. BUT they almost got 2 stars based on something labeled Popeye’s. They tasted exactly like Popeye’s mild chicken tenders. Starters: uninspiring. typical«chinese» buffet items Hibachi: first we had to find someone. Then we had to identify the meat items. Other than the steak, didn’t know what the rest were(no labels). Hamburger was actually good, definitely should have done a double patty. They were sitting out raw, barely covered in the open, so I grabbed a patty from the back/bottom. And again with the lettuce turning colors. Desserts: Blah, but… Macaroons yumm! A co-diner thought there was Butter pecan ice cream. Uummm, No. Some careless person dripped chocolate in the vanilla and it had been there so long, it re froze with ice crystals and just looks like pecan pieces… Maybe on a busy day, the food is eaten and rotated more frequently but I will never find that out.

Never again. Should have looked over the buffet before committing. Food very UN-fresh even at peak dinner hour. Sushi horrible. Don’t stop, walk right by and pick anything else in the food court over this excuse for a restaurant!

Someone told me about the Buffet Palace… and I had to try it out. Come to find out… the same owner of Teppanyaki(in Bridgeport)…manages this place at the Connecticut Post Mall. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and clean. Prices are fair… and the food quality… is first rate. The only changes I’d make is to move condiments to the middle… and add more desserts like the Teppanyaki has. They just had one pudding, jello and all the rest is fruit. Other than that… if your shopping the mall… this is one of the best restaurants to eat at… or if your looking for a good buffet and your in Milford… this is the spot.

As with all buffet places, there’s the good and the bad. Unfortunately this place has more bad than good. BUT, once you know what to avoid, you do, and generally you’re OK. But this place gets 1 star for service. The guy seating us seemed like an owner and it was as if we were totally putting him out to seat paying customers. Our server was nice enough, but it seemed like they were trying to rush everyone out, and it didn’t close for another 2 hours. We later found out it was because they wanted to eat their own dinner from the buffet line. They were leaving tabs for people who had only made one trip, and asking«You done? You done?» The table next to us said«no but you can leave the tab». They cleared another table while the guests were in the buffet line and took their water, utensils and everything. The best is when they started taking the soy sauce off tables and literally taking it while people were using it. I thought they were refilling them but no, they were put on a cart and wheeled into the back never to be seen again. I think the highlight was when we were ready to leave and our server brought us our tab. She got up from the table she was sharing with the other servers, had a full mouth of food, and thanked us for coming. As we were leaving, the same host stared right at us and didn’t even say thank you or how was your meal. We are definitely never going back to this place and it would serve you best to avoid it as well.

I threw up in their bathroom and didn’t even feel bad… this place was awful. Do not go there. The ambiance is beautiful at first and very deceiving, but the ambiance is the only perk to the place. You’re better off going to a McDonald’s owned and operated by the homeless people of new haven. The food is sub par. The steak they have for hibachi is cheap pork steak and the service is better at good burger. We were done with our meal by the time they brought our water. I’m left with a confused feeling in my stomache after leaving. I know I threw up everything I ate in their graffiti covered bathroom stall but I’m left with the strange feeling that I’m carrying an atomic fart that would rival Hiroshima when it comes out. The only reason I am giving this one star is because of the ambiance and the fact that I can’t rate it less.

The worst service I’ve ever experienced. We went in at 7:20 on a Sunday, and everyone who worked there treated us as a nuisance. We were seated, and the host took our drink order, wrote it on a slip, and left it on the table. We get up to get our first plate, wander up and down the buffet, get our food, and sit back down. No water. Not a big deal, it happens, there is hardly anyone in the restaurant, other than staff who are mopping/cleaning everything, but it’s only been a few minutes. We eat our first plate, and still nothing. Probably 15 – 20 minutes have gone by at this point, and I start to try and get people’s attention to help us. They avoid me like the plague despite me calling to them. I finally get one of the staff’s attention, and ask politely for water. She nods and holds up her hand to me, then shouts at another worker in Chinese somewhere we couldn’t see, and walks away without a word. Our waitress comes over after about five more minutes and finally brings us our water, all while dragging her feet and just seeming pretty pissed she had to do so. We get our second plates, eat a little bit more, but the general atmosphere and sub-par food have pretty much spoiled our appetites. We finally get our check(from a different waitress) and leave some cash on the opposite side of us from where the waitress would be, and begin to collect our things. Our actual waitress does finally come by(only the 2nd time we’ve seen her this evening) and asks if our bill is all set. She then takes it and proceeds to count it right there at the table! We didn’t leave her much of a tip, A) because she didn’t do anything, and B) because she was rude about it, and then she Questions us about it! We ended up getting change, and leaving. On the way out there were four people at the counter watching TV or something, and no one even looked up at us as we left. Even if the food was decent we wouldn’t be going back here.

I been here a couple times before, once when it first opened and once weeks ago while I was in the mall one weekend afternoon. The first time I went it was just ok, food quality was low to average as expected overall. I wouldn’t go back if I had anything better available at the time but wouldn’t mind if I did come back. As a note before I go on, I go to chinese buffets pretty often and have quite a strong stomach to take some of their worst nights but this was more than even I could handle. And so I did one other weekend around lunch time when I was around and noticed the quality was just worse and I wasn’t feeling too great after, I didn’t want to back and would have rated it a 2 star at the time. The grill food was ok but way more greasy than it should have been. But then last night I was at the mall later to see a movie so me and couple others decided to stop in anyways, tried to persuade them to spend a little more go to Buffalo Wild Wings or something but they insisted so in we went. I just went along with it knowing it wasn’t going to be good but it was even worse somehow. This time about a third of my food was almost inedible. Much of the sushi had some hard pieces in them that did not seem to be fish bones whatever they were. So after a plate of that I decided I couldn’t possibly go wrong playing safe with fried food and I got some fried shrimp and chicken. The fried chicken was very strange, it was very slimy inside and had an off taste to it. Some parts I couldn’t even swallow because it was like chewing fried fat gum. The fried shrimp was obviously just some basic frozen food section fried shrimp but after what I had already it was a relief that I found something meant for human consumption. They still weren’t done when I was so I decided to at least have some peel and eat shrimp because how could they possibly screw that up but they did. The shrimp had a off taste to it too and the texture wasn’t even the same for each shrimp. The amount of food I had to spit out into my napkin could fill a plate its own. There was even vomit in one of the toilets when I used the rest room and it was stinking up the entire room. I felt terrible all night after, this place really should shut down because it’s clearly a huge health concern even as far as buffets go which I don’t expect much from. Luckily, I’m fine today. I miss when it was Sakura Garden because even though the price was a bit higher the food was much better and the place was much cleaner.

Wow. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. $ 12 may seem like a steal for all you can eat, but you can go anywhere else and get a Chinese dinner for less and save yourself from the disgusting food and unsanitary practices. First off, a worker was zapping bugs with an electric swatter RIGHTOVERTHEBUFFET. Nobody eating or picking out their food wants to see or hear this guy zapping bugs literally right over the food. The sushi was terrible. Think about it– you’re paying $ 12 for all you can eat fish. It’s not going to be amazing, but honestly it’s just God awful. Cheap supermarket sushi is wayyyy better. As a big sushi fan, I couldn’t even get passed the first two rolls I tried, so I moved onto the hot entrees. General Tso’s was disgusting, grossly dark meat. the Hong Kong Chicken tasted like orange medicine was poured over it. I spit it out after one bite and nearly threw up. The Sweet and Sour Chicken and egg rolls both tasted freezer burnt. The chicken was so hard I could not even rip it apart with my teeth. The sweet and sour sauce was so light it tasted like water. Not to mention the wonton soup(which I didn’t try, but my friend did), tasted like you«threw up in your mouth.» I’ve never been so disappointed with a restaurant in my life. We paid the $ 12 each and wound up going to a freaking fast food restaurant to eat instead. Go elsewhere, believe me. Was so excited to try this place and didn’t imagine being so disappointed.

This is probably a place you want to avoid. I knew the reviews going in, but a lot of my family had decided to go here so I really didn’t have a choice. If you like cheap sushi, this place is for you. If you aren’t worried about healthy conditions, this place is for you. If you only want water or soft drinks this place is for you. I browsed the selection of food most of which was unappealing. In fact my significant other did not want to go based on the reviews. One of their claims was«they have something for everyone». Apparently not everyone. She didn’t eat anything but half a chicken finger. After reading about the tummy sicknesses from other people on Unilocal,I only had a plate of food because I knew that after this meal we were leaving here and heading somewhere else(which we did). On a positive note: The fruit selection was good. I had some fruit.

Terrible. Have been there a few weeks ago. The quality of the food was very poor, the waitresses looked unhappy and not a word to their clients. Didn’t eat a lot and still feeling sick right after. Absolutely not recommended to go to this place.

I don’t really understand the other reviews when I went the food was super yummy and fresh. But, then I don’t care about how staff is at a buffet on account it’s not a restaurant. That being said I went before their«grand opening» and my husband and I had a good experience so far my favorite Buffet in the area. We will be coming back in the near future.

There was a good quantity of food and I would say the quality of the food was just okay. I did find some of the utensil was dirty with stains on it or even dirt. I would not come here again in the future.

I went with a friend maybe a week and a half ago since the place had just opened. I had dreaded the idea of going to a buffet, and when I went in I though maybe this would be different. The experience wasn’t great, as was the food. It was depressing to say the least. I asked my friend how she had felt after saying I was surprisingly full my first round. She responded, «I’m not full, just unsatisfied.» Only to realize I had felt the same way. Luckily we were in a mall and the buffet was pretty inexpensive.

Just move in to Milford, and want to find a Asian American buffet for weekly family meal, did some research and found that new restaurant just open in the Milford Post Mall, read couple review and still want to try out because went by window couple times when I shopping in the mall and the décor and the price look good enough to try it out. the Décor is great, and the food is delicious, lots of item to choose from sushi, hibachi grill and Asian American dishes. price is good for lunch$ 7.99 and dinner $ 11.99 compare to the food court. service is fair for a buffet place, because it’s a all you can eat restaurant, can’t compare that with high end dine in restaurant, because dine in restaurant is mark up the price for the service even the tip is separated. I don’t know about other review, but i will definitely come back for it, when I am shopping in the Mall again! give it a try!

Don’t eat here! There are other Asian buffets in the area that are much more worth your time. Starting with the décor, while it was cool in some ways it didn’t make a lot of sense for the theme of the restaurant. Not a well thought out design, and really who wants to listen to country music in an Asian restaurant. The food was awful. My stomach is still making funny noises after dinner, and the best part of the meal was the watermelon. The selection made no sense at all, and the food was not fresh(browning avocado, greying fish in the sushi etc). Flavor was non existent and much of the food had the quality of frozen pre-packaged food. Oh and by the way buffet people… At least half of your food was mislabeled. Service was minimal, and we couldn’t get out fast enough. Went into a food coma from all the grease pretty much as soon as we got home. Again, spare yourself and eat anywhere else.

The Buffet Palace is located in the Milford Post Mall next to the Target store. It replaces another buffet that existed in the space before it. For a place advertising its Grand Opening in ads, the quality is disappointing, especially compared to other Asian buffets in the area. We came on a Saturday for dinner, so the place was busy. Overall, the place is beautifully decorated and furnished, but the food and service are nowhere near the same level. Please excuse my long review – there is a lot to share. Firstly, the service was very poor, especially with our waitress, who could not speak English well enough to comprehend or communicate. The confusion got so bad, that at another table, she served them our drink orders and us their order, but she gave the Pepsi to a diabetic, who specifically requested and confirmed(even after the drink mix-up error was confirmed by us) with her multiple times that it was Diet Pepsi. The manager, who came over, did not speak English well and didn’t even try resolving the issue with the other party. He heard what the problem was and then just left. Another issue we discovered, was that the hostess, who greets you at the door, said that soft drinks are included in the price($ 11.99 for dinner), which was not the case, when we found out during payment for the bill. The Hibachi chef did not speak at all with any of the customers standing ahead of me or myself, while putting in our order. If we wanted the food to be cooked a specific way or to add a sauce, we had to ask him and honestly, I don’t think he understood what everyone was saying because he just nodded his head and never spoke – very strange. Also, the chicken meat for the Hiabchi grill was very slowly replenished. Finally, the food was ok, but some items had some issues. For one thing, most of the food items were mislabeled. The mayo chicken was called«salt and pepper squid» and a bunch of other comical mislabels were throughout the set-up. The sushi buffet section wasn’t well stocked, but I can understand this. What disappointed me was that I found tough material that felt like bones in my salmon and cream cheese roll. I didn’t bother complaining after noting how the manager handled the earlier complaint by the other party. The lemonade soft drink was watered down too. One other concern I had was that the air was being circulated by a large floor fan placed in the back of the restaurant. It was noisy and inadequately cooling the place. My biggest concern with this was that the air conditioning ducts, which happen to be right where one stands in line next to the food, was dripping an excessive amount of condensation. Water droplets landed on my plate and near the food – not cool(no pun intended). In regards to some positives, the fruit section seemed well maintained. The mango, which is a rare thing in buffets, seemed fresh according to my mother. I enjoyed the fried plantains, which seemed to be the safest food item to eat without some potential risk for improper handling or cleanliness. That’s about all I can think of. Also, again, this place is magnificently decorated and probably would do better as a sit-down restaurant. Although I don’t concern myself much with friendliness of restaurant staff, I noticed that there are consistent issues of language competency, management, quality of service and cleanliness, and food for The Buffet Palace. These issues need to be addressed and corrected immediately from my experience. For now, I’m going to avoid this place until I hear any news of some serious improvements. It’s really a shame such a nice looking place can be so inadequately and poorly maintained.
