This place is sliding downhill fast. Even something as basic as keeping the buffet full is something they just can’t seem to do. When something is popular they seem to be unprepared for keeping up the supply. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that the management has instituted tight cost cutting measures, which is showing in the quality of food and service. And the steak I recommended in my last review? Nowhere to be found anymore. Must have gotten too expensive.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Absolutely disgusting. When we were walking in there was a cup sitting on a ledge filled with I don’t even know what and MOLD. I pulled my boyfriend aside and showed it to him but he insisted we still try the place out. It was $ 30 for two people which, in my opinion, is way over priced for the quality you’re getting. The food selection was slim. The waffle fries that I got weren’t even fully cooked. The ranch dressing in the salad station had CLUMPS. So I decided to scoop down to the bottom and there was ranch that was solid and stuck to the inside of the bottom of the container. Who knows when the last time that container was emptied and cleaned… I would never return to this place. Save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere.

My family and I always enjoyed Hometown Buffet, tried it tonight, never again. The selection isn’t so good any more, the waitress was very slow, the hot food is warm, not hot, the salad bar not so good anymore either. People that opt for no drinks are all getting free drinks, after I honestly paid $ 4,56 for ours. Next time we get a buffet dinner, we’ll go to Hibachi Grill further up the road and be happy!

I was there on Saturday for breakfast. Pancakes, French toast and waffles were terrible. They tasted like cardboard. Eggs and everything in that island was cold. They changed everything and now charge extra for drinks. I had to get up twice before I could eat. The no longer have ketchup on the table. I used to like this place but after this visit, I will never go back again. You are better of just going to McDonald. Hate to say it but even bacon was terrible. Sorry to say but before I left I had to rush to men’s room and vomited all my food. Only good thing was the coffee.

I wish there were negative stars. My receipt says 3:31PM and I was charged almost 30 bucks for the worst buffet meal(2 adults) that I’ve ever had. Earlier in the day I saw a commercial for Golden Corral and as there is no Golden Corral near by I decided to go to Hometown Buffet. Mac and cheese was runny, chicken was dry, waitress was by my table twice, I honestly have never have had a worse American style buffet in my life. The best thing I could say was that the man carving the meat was polite to the gaggle of unsupervised kids running around. Seriously, go to the McDonalds in the parking lot before you come here. Horrible and overpriced.

This is the worst buffet I have ever been to. Not only are there very few food choices, but it is evident that all food is made from a box or can, nothing is fresh. Everything lacks in flavor. It was a complete waste of money. Some of the foods served were so bad I couldn’t even eat them. I will never come here again, in fact, I am surprised they are still in business. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Went there for dinner last night… Seems like the place is going downhill… Most items were cold and did not look appealing .How they could mess up even pizza. The hot fudge was empty, the soup had a film on it, and the seafood salad had a unpleasant taste. I unfortunately got ill from the food.

Went here a couple week ago… arrived an hour before closing. My theory is that the food should be as good and fresh as earlier diners receive, no matter what time you eat; I could understand if there are less offerings but I’m paying the same so it needs to be fresh. Salad bar was fair but there was no cornbread or rolls put out while we were there… all fried items(chicken, etc) were cold and popcorn shrimp was so salty they were inedible… they must save money this way. Also no cocktail sauce. There was no fresh ham or roast to slice and there were only 2 dessert choices. Finally, just before we left someone put out more pie slices. And to end the night on a bitter note(bad pun), the coffee was so weak it was not drinkable. Never again…

Yuck!!! 100% =S Golden Corral would demolish this place if it was in this area. I was hesitant to go here but my husband wanted a buffet and told me we should try it. Very limited things to choose from here. Mostly dried up crap. Chicken was dry, corn was dry, mashed potatoes gluey and tasteless. Salad bar. Hope you’re not allergic to anything because cross contamination WILL happen here. Dessert… No thanks. Even if I wanted any… You can tell the food was sitting out for a long time. Ever watch pudding when it’s sat out too long? There’s a film that covers the top. Any person(like me) who has eaten good food and has made food for a long time knows this place has health regulation issues and personally, should be shutting this place down. My stomach already hurts from the stuff I’ve eaten. *beats husband up!* bad choice!!!

Had an overall good experience. Went for dinner on a Sunday afternoon. I believe breakfast is served up until 11AM, lunch up until 3:30PM and after is considered dinner. The Dinner price for adults is about $ 12, while children vary is prices from $ 3−7ish, depending of the age. We were charges $ 5 for my 4 year-old. Staff was nice and the«General Manager» approached us to ask if we needed a tour, which I thought was very nice. The bathrooms were fairly clean, especially given a buffet. The food selection was decent with a salad bar, soup, meats such as fried chicken and carving boards with roast beef, ham and turkey all of which were good. A lot of «southern» sides to choose from as well such as mac and cheese. Dessert included cake, cookies and ice cream. A decent variety of fruit cobblers/pie and cake. Fountain drink vending is in the center of the dining area which makes it convenient to customers and draws the crowd away from those getting food. They had an ICEE machine!!! I did not see that coming at all, but it was greatly appreciated. I thought the only way to have one was to pay $ 6 at the movies… There is a person or two dedicated to clearing the plates away from the tables in different area. Our person was nice and helpful. An overall good experience, not too much to complain about except a little more selection may be helpful. I do not remember seeing any shrimp or fish, maybe those things come out later?! Also… this place is very similar to «Old Country Buffet» which I used to to go in Levittown, Long Island years back. I am not sure if they are affiliated, but everything is more or less the same.

Ate at this buffet several weeks ago… second time… and got sick again. The person that was with me got sick also. Dreadfully un-clean…un-hygenic restaurant. Where the soup bowls sit was horrid!!! Also check out where the plates and silverware is. NASTY!!! I got a salad and the lettuce and other vegetables looked quite old and droopy. I don’t know how anyone could rate this over a 1 star. Food on the buffet was old… un-fresh…tasteless…and just plain BLECHHHHH!!! I sent an message via the receipt you get about winning a giftcard for telling them about your experience. Ummmmm… NOTHANKS!!! Checked no for entry in for the gift card… but haven’t heard back about our poor experience. Oh well… never going back!!! P. S. The comments made by others about an extra charge for drinks is true too. I paid for drinks and seen people that didn’t and was getting drinks anyways. Drinks should be included in what you pay.

I am giving them five stars based on American buffet style food places, NOT in the category of restaurant food. if you frequent buffet style eateries this is a good one. I have been here many times, my elderly parents LOVE this place and it makes them happy. It is clean, the staff is very friendly(despite the fact that most people either don’t tip and at best under tip them), the food options are many,(food is bland-use your salt and pepper shakers, people should be able to decide for themselves how much salt they want to consume). There is well stocked salad bar, ice cream and dessert bar, soups, often there’s a taco bar, several entrees and vegetables. It’s not gourmet and I only eat here with my folks, before that With my daughter when she was young, she liked it here. So if your looking for gourmet food pass this by, but as far as buffet style American fare, this is as good as it gets. BTW when eating at a Buffett style place, be sure to use hand sanitizer or wash you hands before you eat. The handles of the serving spoons must be filthy.

I like their food, drink station, dessert and salad station. However, the ice cream station is always messy. I really wish people would not allow their children to play in the food. If there are a lot of children I leave. Not a fan of picked over food. I make my little one’s plate while she holds it. The staff is nice.

What I like about this place is that the food is good, ice cream is great, and the staff is very nice, unlike other buffets they don’t rush you to leave. Excellent.

Well the problem with all the bad reviews is that you are all going at peak dinner hour. I wouldn’t touch this place with a 10 foot pole at that time! Believe me, if you go for a late lunch or early dinner you may be pleasantly suprised! Not that it’s the best food in the world for 10 bucks but the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn is a good bet and not half bad and there are only a few people in there. Plus you can go up and get it again if the first plate doesn’t fill you up and even get dessert too! But come on in this day and age what do you possibly expect for 9.99? Ruthschris?

This is probably the worst buffet I’ve ever been to. You get what you pay for. There are better options nearby.

I was pleasantly surprised despite the reviews. For its $ 9.99 price, I stuffed myself with salad, soup, chicken, shrimp, tacos, and more!
