Everyone loves Dr. Kuwabara! Just look up her profile on
. I think that speaks for itself.
Personally, I have been going to her pretty much my entire life. The staff is always friendly and professional. They always give me free stuff ie contact fluid and cases. No complaints.
Dr. Kuwabara may seem a bit stoic but she is in fact a very kind person. She always asks me how I’m doing. Once, she noticed my glasses frame were messed up, and fixed them right on the spot for me. She didn’t even charge me!
Overall, excellent, excellent, excellent. If you have eye issues, you simply must go to Dr. Iris Kuwabara!
P. S. Don’t you think it’s interesting how her name is Iris and she’s an optometrist? I always found that interesting, haha.

I recommend Iris Kuwabara as an optometrist because frankly, she cuts the crap out of doctors trying to sell you stuff.
For both of my annual exams we have gone through the tests, which usually take about 15 minutes. These guys are super efficient and if your prescription hasn’t changed much, she’ll tell you it’s not worth to order anything new this time. Almost every other optometrist I’ve been to try to switch your contacts brand every year.
Since I wear contacts, I have to refuel annually. She gives a 15% discount for anything your insurance doesn’t cover.
I’ve moved to Aiea, but still make the trip to Mililani for Iris.
