Great Chinese at a great price. This place feels very high end yet affordable. A must visit.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for date night, and it did not disappoint! Food and drinks were on point. Our bartender Chantelle,(not sure of spelling) was amazing! Thank you for a great date night experience!

I went to China City on 12⁄18 with my adopted parents for my belated birthday dinner. I chose this spot as they asked that I pick something close to where they live, and Chinese food sounded great. This was the first visit for all of us. The aesthetic here is great, as many other reviewers have mentioned. It is modern and sleek with hardwood flooring, silver accents, nice wooden tables and booths, comfortable silver batted chairs and a six foot expensive looking Buddha reigning over the place. Our waitress, Shalynn, was polite, attentive and gave me a complimentary dessert for my birthday. She and others that stopped by cleared plates appropriately, took care of drinks except when my dad had to ask twice for more wine and the Roy Rogers I ordered was lacking in the grenadine. On that note, it was surprising to see a Roy Rogers listed separately on the menu. I haven’t seen that before and it’s my favorite drink. My parents ordered pork as an appetizer which they enjoyed; I didn’t partake. My mom wanted us to each order an entrée to share so we got Mongolian beef, almond chicken and coconut sweet and sour shrimp with fried rice. Rice here is all separate from entrees at an extra cost. The presentation of the food was done well by the chefs. The shrimp plate was especially visually pleasing, but it was a bit disappointing to be served flattened shrimp. The food was just ok, 2 – 3 stars. It was not the kind of Chinese food one can get in Vancouver or Robson where you know it is authentic and makes you scream you’re so excited by the flavors. I don’t know why no one in Seattle can make real Chinese food. I digress. Anyway, for the way China City looks, it food doesn’t match. You would get the same quality and taste of food if you bought it from the grocery store in a box and went home and made it except for the almond chicken. That entrée was a strong 3.5 stars. Too much breading and not enough chicken but the flavors were better than most places. We each got cheesecake which they serve New York style with strawberry sauce drizzled on it. They gave us small dessert spoons. The cheesecake was 3 stars, good but not great. The portions of the food was just right. Parking at this restaurant was interesting for us. Located in Mill Creek Town Center, which is buzzing with activity often and really was last night, I ended up finding a parking spot over by Central Market while my parents found one in the parking garage by the apartments behind China City. I would return to China City due to the location convenience for my parents if they wanted to go back. I won’t go out of my way to return for myself or to go with others based on the food. Food: 3 Service: 4 Parking: 3 Ambiance: 4

Although the dishes taste good, its a bit overpriced for Chinese food even if attempting to be more upscale. I have to say that I do enjoy the dishes here, but I’m not raving over it. I have had a few hole in the wall Chinese restaurants in Seattle prepare dishes just as good if not better for a lower cost. Also, I don’t think that this is qualifies as gourmet by any means. The ingredients seem standard, the preparation seems mediocre, and the presentation is like any other Chinese restaurant. With that said they have a pretty expansive menu meaning good selection, but when trying to justify the cost for the dishes, it must be the setting and décor that makes it more expensive. The restaurant is located at the South end of the Milk Creek town center. Even before entering the establishment, it gives a good vibe of being a nice restaurant. Upon entering, you’re faced with the hostess station framed out by the large glass wall that is a pretty display and case for alcohol. The whole restaurant is well decorated and furnished to provide a causal upscale dining experience. It’s just unfortunate that the food doesn’t match that same level of quality. The staff is prompt and friendly, so your experience will likely be positive overall. I just forewarn you not to get your hopes up about the dishes since its easy to get fooled by the nice décor and higher prices.

Great restaurant in the inside– just not a fan of the food portions and prices. Expensive, and very little portions, it’s just an «amped up version» of Panda Express.

I’ve eaten here once before and had a great time. My server, Vinny, was very welcoming and helped to recommend Szechuan Chicken to me when I didn’t know what to order. That is my favorite dish now, it’s delicious! I went back today after a long day at work, I wanted to wait for traffic to die down so I wouldn’t have to drive during rush hour. I was eating alone so I decided to sit at the bar instead of in the dining room by myself. I was helped by Fernando, who wasn’t pushy about anything and we ended up having a great conversation. I usually do takeout now but it’s a beautiful restaurant for date nights.

We love this place! Its like a waaaay better version of PF Changs for cheaper and the waiter Joakim was FANTASTIC! We came in on Labor Day and were seated right away. The food was delicious, I highly recommend… Appetizers: BBQ pork– perfect except they definitely need to come with more hot mustard! Pot Stickers– Delicious and the sauce is perfection. Entrees: The sauteed green beans with jalapenos, I could literally eat these every single day. Sweet and Sour chicken– perfectly crispy and obviously high quality chicken breast Also, the house hot tea and the fortune cookies are literally the BEST. Definitely check this place out if youre in the mood for Chinese :)

Upon my arrival i entered the establishment with a giant swinging door. We were seated immediately, ordered, got our drinks and food in less than 10 minutes. Initially the beer that was delivered to me was over flowing which actually was kind of cool, but the waiter took it back and brought me out a cleaner glass that didn’t have beer foam all over it. The food was amazing, best ‘Chinese’ food I’ve ever had. There isn’t anything to really complain about, the lighting was perfect, fast service & friendly waiter, will definitely be coming here again.

Mostly two stars for the ambiance and the drinks Pot stickers you can get better from the discount aisle Egg rolls were acceptable Hot and sour soup– the hubby liked it, I passed– fatty Mongolian beef was fair, very sweet but edible Almond chicken– worst decision ever. Chicken was boiled then re-cooked, reminded me of rubber. The breading was undercooked. We informed the waiter we could not eat it, was not appetizing and ‘gross’ he stated some people like it some don’t and took off. Thanks for the awesome customer service China City! Fortune cookies were good

The ambiance is wonderful! This place is CLEAN — including the bathrooms! We’ve been here twice, and the service has always been great. There hasn’t ever been a wait. Why 3 stars? The food is mediocre. We’ve tried a couple of appetizers — the lumpia, and the lettuce wraps(these appetizers are great) The Lumpias are deep fried wrappers filled with beef and vegetables. Comes with a sweet and sour sauce. $ 6.99 — These are crispy and they don’t skimp on the sweet & sour sauce. You don’t have to take a little teaspoon amount and hope there is enough to go around. They give you ample sauce, everybody gets enough sauce! :) The Lettuce Wraps are minced chicken, nuts and vegetables delicately sautéed in a soy oyster sauce, served with lettuce wraps and their own homemade hoison sauce. We ordered these without water chestnuts — because in my opinion… water chestnuts taste like Styrofoam. $ 8.99 and these are good also. And now let’s move on to the entrees… My husband ordered the MuShu Pork — delicious sliced cabbage with bamboo shoots, wood mushrooms and pork sautéed to perfection to wrap in a pancake with plum sauce(4 pancakes) $ 9.99 — He’s ordered this both times we’ve visited, and he says it’s good. The Walnut Shrimp is lovely. It’s succulent prawns lightly dusted and quickly deep-fried for texture, then coated with a creamy sweet mayo and topped with honey sesame walnuts 14.99 — everybody in our family ate this, and liked it! So, what’s not to like? The Teriyaki Chicken — it’s boring. Sliced chicken sautéed in a teriyaki marinade 10.99 — It’s served with broccoli,(and traditionally a Japanese dish)…and I’ve had better at the Panda Express. The Hot & Spicy Chicken — breaded chicken, deep-fried then coated with sweet/spicy hot garlic sauce 10.99 — I did not think the garlic sauce was«spicy or hot» and once again, I’ve had better at the Panda Express. Entrees do not come with rice. Rice is an additional $ 1 or $ 2 per person. They have a full bar, and beers on tap. If you are wanting to try this restaurant, I suggest you pop in for lunch, they have lunch combos that are $ 8 – 9 per person. 2 Entrees, rice, and soup. Served daily from 11:00 am — 3:00 pm. It’s a good opportunity to taste the food, and save some money!

No question I am on a quest and this place really let me down. It’s super nice inside and the staff is well dressed and polite, however, the emphasis appeared to be more on alcohol than Ancient Chinese Secrets. We tried about everything as it was happy hour, We ordered so much food that the left overs were enough for a small family. Nothing really stood out and in the end, the food, and reason we came in, didn’t impress. I have talked to a few others that had the same opinion. Now if you are a fan of grocery store Chinese, this is going to be your spot, but after all that cash, I would have been happier with the $ 6.99 plate at Panda Express.

My wife and I went there for dinner. As most of the reviews have already stated, the place is really nice. It’s new so the standard wear and tear has not hit this place yet. Service was good and attentive. I ordered a signature drink, a kind of fruity drink if I recall… and I got a glass of OJ. Errf? Sent it back, and got what I asked for. I always judge a China restaurant based on it’s General Tso chicken. Well… what I got was what looked like Sweet and Sour chicken. I’ve never seen GTC prepared the same way as S&SC. This was also clearly frozen and not fresh. Overall, the food just doesn’t match the beauty of the restaurant. I’d rather be in a dive and have great food… not the other way around. I might come back, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Great spot for a quick fast lunch ! Food is set up buffet style, large veggie selection & protein as well! The difference in this spot is it also has miso soup! What I also truly enjoy is the addition of curry sauce, peanut sauce & thai that you can ladle onto your dishes for an extra kick!

Great service and good food. Very good. Some things like pecking duck and calimary can use more flavor, but mongolian beef was great and so was sizzling platter. Stuff was great as well. Over all would give them 4.5 stars.

The atmosphere is great, the place sets up your expectations high. I had a spiked strawberry lemonade which was great and my husband got a mac n jacks. The drinks were the best part really. I’m rating this place purely on the food itself. There were 6 of us so we ordered a bunch of apps, pot stickers, coconut butterfly shrimp and egg rolls. All were fine, nothing fantastic, just typical chinese food. Tasted like what you’d get for take out. I ordered my toddler an egg flower soup but she fell asleep so I asked the waiter to pack it for me. For my main I got chicken and mixed veggies with«a brown sauce»(as it says on the menu), it was ok. Everyone else shared the mongolian beef, mandarin shrimp, the almond chicken(not good), general tso chicken and a couple others. Nothing really stood out honestly. Husband says mongolian beef was the best one out of all of them. Oh — and like another commenter said, the waiter left with my toddlers soup when I asked him to pack it up and we never seen it after that :/

I wanted to give the place 2 stars but did recall a time where I had lunch there and their combo selections were good and the meal was decent at best. Other than that, I’ve been here mostly for happy hour. HH menu is pretty much a condensed version of the regular menu and by the taste of our lettuce wraps, calamari and pots tickers, I will pass this place up if anyone wants to meet up at The Mill Creek Center. The lettuce was flimsy and wilting and the chicken mix was so salty, my mouth is still suffering today(we went there yesterday). The sauces that came with the other appetizers tasted like school cafeteria condiments, cheap and blah! Our BBQ pork was so dry, even our server agreed and told us the cook thought so too because it was later in the day and its best served first thing when avail(why serve it dry then?) Drinks tasted like a newbie made them, watered down with melted ice cubes and random mixes were thrown in together… BAM, here’s your drink. Environment is nice and clean, service is good, and the location is easy to find if you are in the area. Overall: if you are going to visit a Chinese chain restaurant, go to PF Changs in Lynnwood. China City is the wanna be-generic-out of date version of PFC.

I’ve been here several times now and just under-whelmed to say the least. It looks so nice on the outside and inside that I was expecting a really high-quality service and food but instead it’s really just not good. It’s not awful or bad but sub-par food. Not sure I’ll be back, plus they have no back entrance and only like 3 parking places up front so you have to park in back and walk all the way to the front and when I’m in a hurry and just want to grab something togo and go it’s just not good. This place if they hired a really good chef could have a LOT of potential

Suzy and I were very keen to try out this new place. And upon entering we were impressed with the décor, cleanliness, and quick service by the staff. Our waitress was wonderful, checking in with us regularly but not too much. She was knowledgable and nice. The food costs a little more than average but the selection is fine and you can order adult beverages. Unfortunately, the food was very bland, kind of ho hum. I am not sure what I can say about the sea bass that I had, but it seemed a tadd undercooked and didn’t sit well on the palate. The vegetables were done well and included pea pods and mushrooms, both of with I like. I normally am pretty lenient with my ratings, but here I was a bit disappointed. Hey, the fortune cookies were okay. YMMV.
