First Republic Bank

After a lifetime of banking at BofA, Wells, Bank of the West and Chase, I thought all banks were alike. I was wrong! The Mill Valley branch of First Republic just doesn’t operate like other banks. You are warmly greeted when you walk in the door and there is rarely a wait to transact business. And if there is a wait, the Giants are on TV next to the fresh baked cookies. Bryce, Erika and Rosemary treat me like a friend as opposed to a client and take care of whatever I need for myself and my elderly mother. Switch your accounts to this branch — make banking a pleasure not a chore :-)

I have been a First Republic customer for more than 10 years. I originally got hooked up with First Republic when they helped me get a mortgage on my first home. Because they were so easy to work with, I eventually switched all of my banking to First Republic, first my personal banking and then my business banking (I have a law firm here in Mill Valley). As a result, I’ve had a lot of exposure to various First Republic offices (SF, Menlo Park, San Rafael), all of which has been a great experience. For the last four years, however, I have been working almost strictly with the folks in the Mill Valley branch and I cannot begin to tell you how much of a joy it is to interact with these folks. The MV office is located in the southern portion of the Strawberry shopping center — which is a bit of a no-​mans-​land — but because the folks in this branch are so great, I don’t mind the extra hassle of getting there. In fact, my office is in downtown Mill Valley with many banks within a block or two but I still go all the way to Strawberry to do my banking because these folks are so great. Rosemary and Jennifer have been staples at this branch for as long as I’ve been banking there, and they are two of the most pleasant, helpful and competent people that I have had the joy to work with. The same goes for Erika and Stacy — they always have a smile and are there to assist. At the top, Bryce is the manager and always has time to follow up with me personally (either in the office or on the phone) in order to make sure my banking needs are met, and they always are. I honestly, genuinely enjoy the time I spend in the branch interacting with these great folks. This branch has it all figured out: a great environment, great banking products and above all else, phenomenal people! I’m planning to do a remodel to my home soon, and based on what I’ve heard from my neighbors and others, First Republic understands our local real estate market and is one of the main go-​to banks to assist with these types of projects. I’m definitely looking forward to working with First Republic on my new project.
